Pope Benedict said yesterday that saving humanity from homosexual behavior is as important as saving the rain forests. The pope said human relationships that were not heterosexual were “a destruction of God’s work”.
He added (whilst wearing a dress and a ton of jewelry): “The church should protect man from the destruction of himself. The tropical forests deserve our protection. But man does not deserve any less.”
The Catholic church teaches that homosexuality is not sinful, but that homosexual acts are.

My work involves child protection and I can tell you that there are plenty of blokes in frocks with imaginary friends who are NOT safe to be around young boys.

Wonderful isn’t it. The pope thinks that this is the biggest problem in the world today. Not drugs, economic crisis, not an illegal war in Iraq, child slave labour, AIDS, the homeless, thousands dying in Zimbabwe. No none of this is a problem but two people expressing their love for each other is.

He was a Nazi only in the sense that most German kids at that time were Nazis – it’s what they were brought up with.
Not all Catholics are bad people. It’s just the doctrine that their leadership adheres to that’s rather horrible. There’s enlightened Catholics as well, but they’re having a hard time of it right now, I suppose.
Hang on what do you mean most German kids were nazi’s? How can a child be a nazi? They can be born to nazi’s but it is not possible for a child to be a nazi, as they do not have the life experience to make a decision to become one. Just like a chaild can’t belong to a religion or a cult but they are unable to make the choice.
The reason people say he was a Nazi is that he belonged to the Hitlerjugend as a teen. What I’m trying to say is you can’t really hold that against him, as pretty much all German kids at that time were in the Hitlerjugend.
That’s what I meant by saying he was a Nazi only in the sense that most German kids back then were Nazis – which is to say, only in name.
Ah ok. Of course we all have to remember that these children were forced into these groups. He is however a prize a a*se who should worry a little more about his followers in Africa starving to death whilst he sits on top of the vatican vaults.

The pope is worried about the environment. I think a positive step in that direction would be to reduce fossil fuels, specifically that fossil in a dress with the prada shoes that lives in the Vatican fueling bigotry at every given opportunity.

I think he might seriously be the worst pope we’ve had in a long time. I’m not talking about homosexuality here. None of them have supported it. For me it feels like the Prada dude doesn’t really belive he’s own words and that he’s doing it just for fame or money or something like that. Popes’ should try to make the world a better place not try to make everything happen as it’s written in the Bible. In this point John Paul II was such a great person.

This upsets me that the Pope is saying this, but I asked a Priest at my school and he is saying that the Pope is acting out of his own homophobia.
Think about Pope John Paul 2, he wanted equality for all people.
If God din’t want gay people to act as they do, he would not have created them.
God loves all people, all people are created equal.
I think the Pope needs to remember these simple truths.
