Hope you have all had a delightful one. Just wanted to let you know that we’ve just been told the transmission date for ‘Evening of Wonders’: it’s Tuesday 13th January, 10pm, C4. I hope you enjoy it: it was very nicely filmed.

And whilst we’re showing off about our gadgets, this is from my iTouch. Ok, not as swanky as an iPhone I admit.
Derren, by the way, have you found any good illusions you can do using your iPhone yet? I write magic trick apps for the iPhone, one on the store now, two in development, and a couple ideas I’m thinking of keeping off the store because they don’t belong in the hands of the lay public. Contact me if you have any ideas for effects you’d like to commission for the iPhone for your own evil purposes.

I knew it……..I was so sure that I’d seen Derren’s face on ‘Jonathan Creek’ but as usual no one believed me. In fact I even remarked to Hubby that if I ever claim to have seen his image in a ‘tortilla’ then that’s the ‘only’ time to start worrying…

Katie (no.3) : It’s really interesting, actually. We celebrate with fireworks (i.e. flashes and loud noises) to keep the spirits at bay. Most cultures for some reason believe that the time in-between time — both the witching hour in-between days and the night in-between years — is the time that spirits can cross between their world and ours. Halloween is apparently a time for ghosts because certain pagan tribes began their new year in autumn.
(Not that most people actually know this, of course, but hey — any excuse for a party! 
)
So people aren’t so much celebrating the new year, as they’re trying to start it unhaunted.
By the way, silly question, but are you by any chance the Katie we (two Dutch girls) met in London at the Garrick? Just wondering.

Quit pleased that Derren has opened up to the world the way he has. Having casual conversations with the regular folk that I’d say I am. Derrem I hope you received the relaxation over the holidays that you were attempting. I hope to be able to see you in 2009. It would be easier if you were in the states. I apologize to the blogers if my whole name shows up. This is my first time.

Hi Derren. well, when our paths cross, as they are bound to do one day, You owe me a beer to make up for the sleepless night i had .I was tossing in my bed all night, trying to work out one effect on the show! (Yes, its the bill / number thing) Whats great is, i now think i have 3 possible methods. 2 of which are bound to be wrong, but should work.So… not a total waist of a nights sleep..Ill still have that beer though..
