If you live in the UK you’ll probably have heard about the passing of Tony Hart. Much loved by millions of people he was an inspiration to generations of artists. He will be missed.

Such a shame, Along with Rolf, he’s the one that inspired me to have the career I have. Will be much missed.
this is the first I’d heard about it, I loved watching Hartbeat as a kid, he introduced me to art and came across as a lovely man. its very sad news – they should re run the old episodes, I’m sure kids would still love them today

Oh noooo, I loved Tony Hart. He is the one who got me interested in art when a kid.

Not ashamed to say I shed tears when I read this news earlier today. The man was a great inspiration and responsible for my encouragement and interest in art. Will be missed greatly but not forgotten.
No…..! My heart just sunk! I was a big fan of his growing up and he went to the same University as me.
Just found out the sad news about Tony. I loved watching him as a kid, and hope the BBC pay tribute to a man who influenced countless number of kids to take an interest in art with his avuncular style.
His legacy will live on in those he inspired to the world of pencil, paint and paper, the “Gallery” music and the Blue Peter badge.

There was something just so perfect about Morph.
Sad indeed. Especially for us people who remember scribbling infront of the telly.
So that’s Bettie Page, my Qigong teacher AND tony hart, all in the space of a couple of months.

I remember fondly watching him as a kid
yet another great artist gone now : (
I watched all his shows as a kid, and you just don’t expect there to ever come a time when these great people from your childhood won’t be around.
It’s really sad, I don’t remember many scenes from the shows I used to watch as a kid, but I still remember some of his. : (
