I took this on the tube last night, anything to put even half a smile on my face whilst enduring the hell that is TFL is alright by me.
A few months ago I even stole (yes stole) one of this guy’s stickers from a central London tube station, in the form of a “No Smoking” sticker it reads, “No Smiling – Penalty £200″.
Keep you eyes peeled Londonites and let me know if you see any crop up.
Hopefully more to come.

From the look of the window it was the District or Hammersmith and City line. That being the case you have my full sympathy. Having used those two awful tube lines every day for the last eleven years I finally got fed up and moved closer to work. Now I just have to cope with the local bus service.
Genius. . . But we don’t need stickers to tell us to sit on each others laps in peak times. We have no choice!
Oh my god! i have one of these photos! its from the central line! i will send it in now!
Cheers
Rob
Oh wow, I love those. Wish we had a creative sticker-maker (stickerninja?) on the Metro lines here… that would certainly make traveling a bit less boring. I’ll be on the lookout for those things when I’m in London this summer!
Haha, thats awesome. I really hope some people read them and think its real.
oh, I love these stickers! such a wonderful idea
like this a lot.
London transport can always benefit from a bit of creative fun.
Almost makes me miss living in London.
But not quite.
i definately LOL’ed at this! I think it would maybe brighten up peoples commutes to have someones lap to sit on!
Amazing what you can achieve with the right font and some hi-tack permanent label stock.
I wholeheartedly approve of the moniker Stickerninja, by the way. This anonymous genius will henceforth be referred to as such.
We have a subvertiser at work in Bristol. Nice to see the artform has spread to London.
I caught the one on the central line too! love this stuff, it really brightens up your journey.
hahaha .. peak hours … and laps .. can be seen upon differently as well ..
Reminds me a bit of Loesje (they used to post those texts all over the place), but this apparently is only at the tube .. probably from the tube company itself ..
Ofcourse, this will be a nice opportunity to flyer yourself like this … the one(s) who started it will be the ones hold responsible . .. Yes, yes .. some lines will come up in your mind already .. I can see it ..
we need something like this on my local transport! It might cheers some of the miserable buggers up! hehe
Haven’t seen any yet but will look out for them. Seems like the person doing it has a good sense of humour, melikes a good laugh.
Excellent… love to see any others people may have.
xx
Great stickers coops! I hope you find more and let us know
AMAZING how many ppl from the dbff have migrated to here!
“WARNING: This is a warning.”
Thye can sit on my knee if they give me a cuddle…:-)
That is one of the reasons why I escaped as far away from London as I could….right across the Atlantic and into a “desert” …..LOL
I DO NOT miss the bloody tube, not one bit.
Saw a carriage on the metropolitian line yesterday full of these. “Relaxation is not permitted” “Please refrain from reading over peoples shoulders. Get your own damn newspaper they’re free for Gods sake”. Loads of others.
I came here through google as I saw a no smiling sticker inside a buskers music case. I went back later on to have a closer look
