Ooh I love it! I love Attenborough in general. He’s so eloquent.
I also eagerly watched Dickie Attenborough’s Tree of Life and loved the reference to Paisley that I had just been reading about in ‘The Blind Watchmaker’. I just adored the computer animation and I will be impatiently waiting for the DVD release.

I read lately a definition on this “tree of life”, what I thought was great. It said that insteed of tree, it’s more like a bush thats grows and most of it’s branches will end (extinction). As I have understood, the species come and goes all the time and only some will survive, for example what bacteries have done.
You know, history will repeat it self, so just waiting for that “big bang” coming again which destroyed dinosaurs….. *whistles by oneself*
Scientists in the back will be a bit depressed .. such a short overview .. but so much work in the back of this …
It does not tell much about the states after this little movie’s end ..
And what really causes the spark of life .. that remains unsolved …
maybe we just need to see it different .. the spark of life did not create life .. it was already there .. just a transformation ..
Beginning .. ends .. we like to have it like that ofcourse … maybe also as that would mean there is something else outside of this universe with us in it .. not just planet earth, but the universe .. a neverending something .. surreal … to human mind .. and who knows … it is ..

ReliegiousMarie: Consciousness it something that appears in animals that are highly social, it’s almost a survival mechanism. Apparently consciousness it said to have come about due to a development in the cerebral cortex of animals.
This seems far more amazing than a guy on a cloud saying “let there be life!” beutiful informative science.
