Fox Broadcasting Company announced Monday it will not carry President Barack Obama’s prime time press conference marking his first 100 days in office, the first time a broadcast network has refused an Obama administration request for that valuable airtime.
The network will instead carry its regularly scheduled episode “Lie to Me,” according to its Web site. The show is among the network’s most popular and draws an average of 13 million viewers a week. That compares to the relatively paltry 4.2 million who watched the president’s last prime-time press conference on Fox. In all, close to 40 million watched that event on one of the eight networks that carried it.

Can’t expect anything else from Fox to be honest…
Nice to see our American chums getting to grips with juicy irony. What show was on after that? The Prisoner?
Says a lot about the network. Surely the President is slightly more important than an entertainment program. Can’t it be budged? Strangeness. That being said, I never listen to Gordon Brown’s speeches, I just look up the transcripts online. And translate it into Eddie Izzard Speech.
…it’s far more entertaining.
Vision of Gordon Brown offering cake or death.
You guys are so wrong it makes my head hurt. Have you ever seen this show? It’s brilliant, from the opening theme tune to the conclusion. It beats any politician into a cocked hat, quite frankly, and I am disappointed in you all. Apart from Josh, who has a brilliant idea there.
Obama??? FOX NEWS???
Jeez… I thought you guys were smarter than that.
100 days in office… listen to Tom Waits “Step Right Up”
Obama to a tee
around here we call it Faux News.
You know who’s smarter than all of us combined, Damon? That guy from Lie to Me. God, he’s like the result of some terrifying breeding experiment involving House MD and Derren Brown. Can you say that about Obama? Like hell you can.
Sounds like something my country would do
“They said a black man would be voted president when pigs could fly…..100 days into Obama’s presidency, and Swine Flu”

@ScreamingGreen, I’m so with you. I had never seen the show until my tivo picked up this week’s episode as a suggestion. It was much better than a press conference. And we have like 900 cable news channels, so it’s not like anybody missed Obama because Tim Roth was on. (Am I the only one who feels like he will alsways be Guildenstern?)
Just gonna point out that Fox Broadcasting Company (which airs Lie to Me) and Fox News Channel (which everyone’s commenting on and should be the one to air anything presidential) are two different stations.
@Maura: I have this horrible problem where I actually confuse Tim Roth with House MD, because he is a bit of a dick to people and has facial hair.
@ScreamingGreenConure, Yes, the untended facial hair is a handy indicator of the irreverent roguishness that both characters share. No well-manicured goatees and fine manners for these lovable misanthropes!
