James Randi is back online

The enigmatic James Randi had his you tube account removed by scoundrels and vagabonds (well You Tube actually), but now he is back! Some love him for his insight and persistence in truth, science and understanding, I love him for his gorgeous beard and bushy eyebrows, just watch his facial hair bob and bounce as he talks. I wish he was my uncle.

“I’d like to thank all our supporters once again for the outcry when this happened. But I’ll also gently chide some of you: there were many rumors, accusations, and conclusions jumped-to when our account was taken down. As you can see, no one was attacking us, and no one acted unfairly – the complainants were within their rights, and YouTube acted according to their rules. In fact, when we started conversing with one of the complainants and with YouTube, everyone acted in a civilized and even friendly manner. The matter was resolved quickly and, I think, to everyone’s satisfaction.”

Check out his channel here.

GIant 4 foot worm found in Cornwall

This 4-foot-long sea worm was devastating coral reef and terrorizing fish at an aquarium in Cornwall, southwestern England. The creature, known as “Barry,” devoured bait traps — hooks and all — and bit through a 20-pound fishing line before staffers finally managed to capture it. The worm was moved to its own tank.

This is not a new species, but merely an out-of-place animal, so to speak. It is apparently the Giant Reef Bristle Worm, perhaps Eunice aphroditois.

Also called the “Bobbit Worm” due to the fact that the female worm attacks the male penis and feeds it to her young after mating.

Oklahoma state steps in on Dawkins visit

The State of Oklahoma has stepped in to “protect” the students from “vile and vicious” ideas being spread by Richard Dawkins. State officials closely monitored the activity and communications of various teachers and organisers to ensure that tax payers money was not being wasted on such ludicrous anti-religious rhetoric telling the news that they “wish someone else had been asked”.

Dawkins was invited to the University of Oklahoma to speak on the theory of evolution and was not paid.

Would you save a stranger

ch4

A 12-year-old girl is beaten and stamped on by a crowd of teenagers on a crowded bus. A man is punched to the ground and kicked repeatedly in the head in an almost deserted London street. Gun-wielding robbers threaten a cashier in a petrol station.

Witnesses in five separate incidents are forced to decide – intervene and risk their own safety or disengage and turn away. Whether they choose the path of a have-a-go-hero or passive bystander, their decisions will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

The first-hand testimonies of those involved are intercut with CCTV footage and dramatic reconstruction, as the stories unfold to reveal the split-second choices that were made.

Whilst some witnesses are seemingly paralysed by fear, others step in. Some escape unscathed while others pay a heavy price for their courage..

Summit Looks Into ‘The Secret Life Of Houdini’ For Action-Adventure

While vampires are immortal, the “Twilight” books are not, and it won’t be too long before Summit needs a replacement for Edward and Bella. It might be none other than legendary magician Harry Houdini. According to The Hollywood Reporter,Summit has optioned William Kalush and Larry Sloman’s controversial biography “The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America’s First Superhero” with an eye to adapting it not as a biopic, but an action movie.

The studio is planning to rewrite Houdini as a character who is part Indiana Jones and part Sherlock Holmes, and exciting enough to launch his own franchise, says the report.

Kalush and Sloman’s book should provide them with enough material for a thriller or two. Their biography is notorious for its claims that Houdini was a British spy, was invited to be an adviser to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, and may have been murdered by all those phony spiritualists he debunked throughout his career. As if the book wasn’t sensational enough, the two authors staged a “family” press conference announcing they would be exhuming Houdini’s body to examine it for evidence of foul play. When the Houdini family denied all knowledge, it was revealed to be nothing but a publicity stunt for the book.
