Mind-altering psychedelics are backābut this time they are being explored in labs for their therapeutic applications rather than being used illegally. Studies are looking at these hallucinogens to treat a number of otherwise intractable psychiatric disorders, including chronic depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and drug or alcohol dependency.
The past 15 years have seen a quiet resurgence of psychedelic drug research as scientists have come to recognize the long-underappreciated potential of these drugs. In the past few years, a growing number of studies using human volunteers have begun to explore the possible therapeutic benefits of drugs such as LSD, psilocybin, DMT, MDMA, ibogaine and ketamine.

Did you know Cary Grant experimented with LSD?
woo hoo!
Hmmm…
So does this mean that Shrooms may indeed be an answer to some of life’s problems?
(If you’re gonna do it, a natural source is best, right?)
But of course, drugs are bad! … Well, except the good one’s
haha.
Peace (man).
(Computer science is no more about computers than astronomy is about the universe!?)
Yeah Baby
xXx
As someone who already has nightmares about having to kill baby frisbees because they are overpopulated, I think psychedelics would be the opposite of therapeutic for me for any disorder whatsoever.
Fascinating study! It’s so interesting how different chemicals can have such an effect on behaviour and mood.
Can confirm the antidepressant effects of Ketamine, though not so sure about the anaesthetic effects – was more of a case of still being in pain but not caring so much about the fact. However I found that really quite interesting at the time!
hmmm, healing properties in psychedelics – good
tie-dye – not so good.
can we have one without the other?
Mum? Dad? Is that you?
I’m not in favor of this in most cases I guess .. it does not really solve anything .. will only cause another addiction. So why not stick to the booze and feed yourself properly next to that?
And another problem is, a psychiatrist/psychologist can never be 100% sure if the patient truely is as disordered as he/she seems. They seem to give antidepressiva and such a bit too soon. Lots, not all, just dont want to see to theirselves, run around in circles. Life … life circumstances … if they only could change a few things here and there in these people’s life … add a little money here and there … lots of disorders had been solved quite quickly. It will cause a few here and there as well ..
If people want to go through life high … be my guest, I (and with me many others) will not be socializing with those anymore as that wont work anymore.
I’m happy to say that I”m relieved that I will not live on this planet anymore in the future.
Why where are you going next Nopke?
Everyone should have an hallucinogenic trip at least once in their lives I think. And I’m sure magic mushrooms make a brilliant anti depressant….
choose me as a guinea pig…please…someone?
Has anyone else noticed the couple in the back ground are in the bollocky buff
They only make good anti-depressants if youre not depressed! You’re more likely to have a bad trip if your already in a negative state of mind. Bad trips can be very damaging!
I think there’s a naked old lady in the top right of that pic
By Right I meant left…
Anyone here read Hancocks book Suepernatural according to reasearch scientists David Willaims human brains got bigger because early hominids were eating magic mushrooms. Also Art and God sprang up in humankind all around the world about 35,000 years ago. And our DNA is an encoded language which under the influence allows us to meet with other worldly beings and communicate. Food for thought, I agree with Sue Blackmore all Drugs should be made legal, why is alcohol and nicotine leagal when cannabis a less harmful drug is not.
