An interesting read. I recall this was also a point of focus in the recent Kalush and Sloman Houdini biography (The Secret Life of Houdini).

Really interesting subject.
I’m afraid I can’t see the paradox .. most people who claim to speak to the other side are quite rational .. the more serious ones. They didn’t need to use their normal emotional system either anymore.
