Left-handed people can think quicker when carrying out tasks such as playing computer games or playing sport, say Australian researchers. Connections between the left and right hand sides or hemispheres of the brain are faster in left-handed people, a study in Neuropsychology shows.The fast transfer of information in the brain makes left-handers more efficient when dealing with multiple stimuli. Experts said left-handers tended to use both sides of the brain more easily. Study leader Dr Nick Cherbuin from the Australian National University measured transfer time between the two sides of the brain by measuring reaction times to white dots flashed to the left and right of a fixed cross.

well i write with my right hand and draw with my left (i am a designer) so how fast or slow should i be? please explain to my very slow right hand side fo my brain.
im left handed and that is sooo right,im even able to play sports with either hand and am able to multi task very easily,unlike these right handed people who call us lefties names,i use BOTH sides of my brain and am therefore more intelligent than you dumb ass righties!! ooh i cant wait for the abuse im gonna get from this comment!! he he he he ha!

Also, I must agree with Magnus. My older brother is the only lefty in my family, and he is, by far, the least “quick”.
When you weigh a single personal experience against scientific research, science must be discarded. I learned that in Sunday school.

It might go down with age. I also wonder, why 80 right handed and only 20 left handed. Have they selected them on specific qualities, were they into sports or computer games. Female, male, age, background, etc etc.
That lefthanders indeed are not all the same as righthanded people seems quite logic. It seems to be something they enhanced to as something else did not work out so well. I watched my little cousin swop left and right hand as he was fully aware (even on a very young age) that one hand wasn’t working out so well. I watched this a bit different at times as he was premature and those kids sometimes develop trouble with their motor system. Although, I think, lots of non premature kids, will have had the same problems. They ofcourse focussed on this with those premature kids. The forgotten group, the so called healthy ones .. were not studied that upclose.
I wonder .. if you hook up to what science prefers to see (left emotional side right reason) whether the lefthanders’ emotional system responded different when they started or did not respond to the outside world. Or does the right hand group respond a bit faster to other type of tasks than the left handers.
I myself really dont believe in the left/right brain vision, the standard one, many believe(d) in. Science started also with male psyche and ofcourse this will show coloured visions at times.
And to end with: those studies will never show their brains/deeds as they will be under non scientific circumstances. Some will be more competitive than others during studies. Which will give results which would not have been the case in normal life. Hence .. those studies do not tell anything different sofar as what many people might have seen already about lefthanders? I mean, how many people do you know that are lefthanded. How many are there on this planet? Are they coming from outer space .. ehehe .. oh well .. to finish it of a bit more .. erm .. in another state.
….and to all who have ever teased me about being a lefty HA!!!! I give you a one fingered salute from my super quick left hand hehehehe : )

Another lefty here. Can’t say much to confirm the findings but we do develop our non-dominant side a lot more than right-handers because everything in society is designed for them.

I’m right handed now, when I was little and started school I was left handed but the teacher (a nun) made me use my right hand (I’d get into terrible trouble if I used my left)… hmmm, I wonder if it confused my poor brain…

i strongly feel that leaft handers are good at sports like cricket,foot ball,altheletics etc…but exceptionally at studies.i am able to think very quickly but i dont know why i’m week at studing…
i do belive strongly that leaft handers are very good at sports and computer games but i think they lack at studies as i lack behind
