Natasha Demkina (born in 1987, in the city of Saransk) is hailed in Russia as “the girl with X-ray eyes”. The girl claims to have the gift of second sight, which enables her to see internal organs of the human body. She describes her phenomenal abilities it as follows:
“I have two sights. I can switch any minute without reason, should I want to see the state of health of a person,” Natasha said. “This switching makes no difficulty to me; I just need to think about it. I can see the full structure of a human body – how internal organs are positioned and how they function. It’s hard to explain how I identify diseases. Afflicted organs produce a kind of radiation. The second sight is active only in the daytime; it does not work at night.”
At the same time Natasha is unable to see her own internal organs.

As part of the programme, tests were performed on Natasha by the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal (CSICOP) and the affiliated Commission for Scientific Medicine and Mental Health (CSMMH) to scientifically assess the young woman’s claims. The tests were intended as a first stage – if she could ‘pass’ this then her claims would merit further research and testing. However Natasha only succeeded in correctly matching four target conditions out of a possible seven, and the scientists required a score of five to warrant continuing their investigations

watched a documentary on this a few month back. i was thinking of you through the entire thing (that sounds so bad). every few minutes i though things like “i wonder if derren can do that”.
Does anyone know if she is heavier than a duck or if she floats?
Somehow reminds me of that stupid experiment that a few chinese docs did,…injecting ultraviolet liquid in new born beagles, just to see them light up in the dark…
Is it just me, or does she have an abnormally large head in that photo? Must be necessary to house the X-ray generators.

If true, why did she adapt to this type of reasoning. Does she attend that school that Derren planned to visit?
Brain can adapt, vision can adapt … so there is the possibility that people can indeed see more than the ‘normal’ human beings can see. I would not call it x ray .. enhancing to another speed (molecules don’t stand still, we are not a statue that is). Who can tell.
Even if this kid would turn out to be fake, still …
I think it was Channel 4? in the UK who did a documentary on her a couple of years ago. Richard Wiseman was involved and put her through a series of tests. If i remember correctly she did not pass to their satisfaction but I seem to remember the results were a bit inconclusive.
You mean that under proper testing conditions she fails? Maybe it’s the skeptical “vibrations” that make her fail.

Ah yes,she’s in the news again.joy.. Basically Randi tested her and worked out that when blindfolded she was able to see down the side of her nose. When he put strips of tape down the side of her nose, her ‘miraculous powers’ disappeared immediately..Complete Charlatan!
