Just to answer some questions...
*The purpose of this was "for the purpose of testing and research artificial life support in pre-soviet republic", as seen at the top above the video.
*The dog's head was reattached to it's body in a jar with preserving liquid amd live happily for 6 years with a handpicked family.
Hope that clears things up.

I agree with Jimmy, it is a fake. Also look at text on bottle "citric acid", it is on English, but it should be Russian cyrillic.

Is it fake... Yes... Pay close attention.. To the cropping... Totally unneeded if you are willing to show this much it is then necessary to show the pipes connected to the major arteries and descending veins but no show? Still good parlor trick I suppose..

This is the first time ever I have read the comments without watching the film and I would like to thank everyone for confirming for me that I do not need to watch this. I already know the world is a dark and dangerous place...

As far as I was aware this experiment actually happened Sergei Brukhonenko the scientist responsible is well known for doing such things. I might say that the video like all reporting has been edited (not in the digital sense but in the positioning and circumstances under which the filming was preformed)

As much as I dislike seeing dogs been mistreated it did provided a couple of interesting finds, also I'd just like to point out to some people who questioned if it was possible to move your muscles with out a spine. It is the spine is a extension of the brain which takes the 'wires' if you will to the body. The nerves of the face all stay in the head. So if you removed the spine you could still more your face. Its why paralysed person tend to have a descending paralysis. Something be it an accident or infection is stopping the signals from the brain reaching the lower portion of the body.

It is these sorts of experiments however ghoulish that pushed medical understanding. There is normally a price to pay for advances. For a simular story check out mike the headless chicken http://www.miketheheadlesschicken.org/index.php

Sorry for the multiple posts but had to let you know that if you google this, the general consensus is that this was just propaganda and ,whilst elements of it may be true, the footage of the dog's head probably isn't real.

Feel better now :-)

Just reading the comments is making me feel dreadful, so I'm going to tell myself that it's fake and wipe my mind of it. How Tiia describes feeling is how I'd imagine I'd be if I watched it so I'm not going to.
If it's real ( it is NOT real) then shame on all who were involved. I hope they had daily nightmares and couldn't look in a mirror ever again. Sick.
