The average Briton will spend more than two years of their lives bored to tears, a study has shown. Experts found the typical adult will waste almost six hours a week feeling completely and utterly bored with life.
It is the equivalent of 13 days a year, or 786.5 days over the average adult lifetime of 60.5 years. The main reason for the boredom was ‘having no money or access to the Derren Brown Blog at work”. ”This survey is quite depressing, as it shows that most people are dissatisfied with the humdrum of daily life,” said Scott O’Donnell of www.triviala.com,which commissioned the survey. ”It comes as no surprise to learn that a percentage of us are bored with work at times, and deciding what to eat on a daily basis can be tedious. ”But it’s easy to avoid the dullness of television adverts, Big Brother and reality television as there are other simpler ways to enjoy life.”
The study also revealed 55 per cent of us are bored of having to watch the pennies and budget to get through the month. Another 47 per cent of people said they quickly became bored waiting in queues for people to serve them and 45 per cent said listening to people whine about feeling ill bored them. Other things which bore people include reality television, work, their social life and eating the same food day in and day out. Also on the list of top 50 things which bore people on a daily basis were feeling ill, Paris Hilton and golf on television.

I’m bored of the repetitive nature of this blog posting. *Ba-dum-dum tish!*

6 hours a week? You mean I’ve used my quota and it’s only Tuesday?
What ever happened to just reading a book when you got bored?
I’m bored at least 8 hours a day at work, I have litrally nothing to do
I’m never bored, can always find things to do, am not into gossip or tv though,
Bored?…there are not enough hours in a day for me though…
I’d say that most of the time life is quite dull, the issue is that people’s expectations are too high thinking that something amazing or fantastic will happen every day hence they get bored.
They should turn off their internet sets and go and do something less boring instead.
Flea Circus Director I disagree! It is 11:02am here and I have already had something amazing happen. I saw a huge ant yesterday and a terrifying spider carrying smaller spiders on its back the day before! Life is full of excitement.
Or maybe I have low standards.
Hey .. I read this one already once …
It’s not just the brits you fools, it’s the whole world population! Life is getting to easy apparently … OD’ed with everything .. zap zap zap … crunch crunch crunch … yawn …
My recommencation .. start digging your own pool …. (will bore the hell out of you but hey .. you at least get to know some more ins and outs of your personal self … and learn about even more tools in your kit .. ). Dont try to check what you like doing .. as that will not work anymore .. force yourself in doing/seeing things and you actually might start to like it somewhere along the line. Just as it was way back .. when you were still a kid .. (mom, I am soooo bored .. I have nothing to do …..*banging to wall with your but* .. pouty lips …)
Bored, yes and no. To get through the day at work, which is extremely boring, I play games such as – How many faces can I pull, and rude gestures can I get away with to the boss (Who is extremely rude), without getting caught, and breaking every rule discretely.
That chick is def. falling asleep … or she is a robot ofcourse, that’ does not get steered by its original so well … So, that’s how we need to picture the brits then huh? Well, okay…. if you say so ..
There is the eurotunnel you know ..
ScreamingGreenConure, perhaps if those bored people could also see the natural wonders that are all around them they might not be bored.
boredom sets into the boring mind..
