I went to a recording for this series in February. It was great (even with waiting in the snow beforehand). Are they re-recording the show, or is this for additional recorded footage, or are these live segments?

Over 18 only huh ?! That is scary …..
I’ll leave the risky job up to all of those that signed up for the event, or will do, and will watch the resuls later on. Safely from my seat back home … chilli rice chips .. diet coke …… hanging … numbed face … (that’s what my face looks like when I’m kinda interested …. oh well, it always looks like that … ehehehe .. and when I’m amazed .. a miniscul lift of the right eyebrow can been observed if you watch closely … as in “Good move, Brown” .. admiring moves and skills of a worthy opponent ….. Nah, a battle is not necessary … I will leave the stage all to him and others who like being there …. )
Now then .. the event … it is a risky title I think … THE event … it might raise my expectations a bit too much …
Although peanuts is not a good idea for a title either …
Looking forward to seeing The Event in due time. Can’t say it enough. There’s not much to look forward to right now so …
On the contrary MsG, I think a battle is absolutely necessary. Someone get Criss Angel a ticket!
SGC: oh good, you were not aiming at me re this battle … Chriss Angel .. I vaguely remember having read something about him .. he looks a bit weird if I recall correct. .. Something with a window .. a trick. Have seen a few clips of him on you tube. Well, if you close the deal with both of them .. set it up .. we all will show up to watch the battle .. and cheer on our preferred winner .. (in silence ofcourse .. mind waves)
Also nice .. Derek Ogilvie vs Derren Brown … two fields coming together in mind reading … ehehe ..
The Feb stuff was the build up section of The Event which will be inter cut with the live broadcast.
Its going to be a VERY intresting few weeks if the filming was anything to go by back then.
Been on the waiting list a while and hope friend in high places pay off

Do people have to bring in their ID when they buy tickets for the event? Or does lots of make up do the trick?
Or is it just a warning that there will be lots of sex and violence ? That normally is the case ..
What is not appropriate for those under 18 in Brown’s event …. or is it just that they are not influenceable enough yet? Or still a bit too up … Meaning, is it good to be over 18 or not ..

Mill: From the look of the registering page (with a box for ‘county’ and none for ‘country’) it is aimed at UK residents, but now that all the international people on here seem to be registering anyway, I gave it at try as well. I do hope they won’t mind… the UK is only a few hours by train from here (yay Eurostar), and it seems like a cool experience.

I’m not one to turn down the chance of free tickets to one of D’s shows
A couple of questions before I register though:
1) Who gets to choose the ‘winners’ of the tickets? (or is it random)
2) I notice that there’s no encryption on their registration page. As petty as it may sound, is this site known to be secure?
(Seeing as it’s not really recommended to hand out details like name, address and DoB over the net without secure connection.)

Registered for this and went to the taping in February. Maaaannnn was that cold! Stood outside the venue for 3 hours in the snow. We then got shuffled onto old fashioned crew buses where the temperature was a couple of degrees above ambient but at least we got a glass of wine (by glass I mean plastic cup and by wine I mean plonk) to warm us up.
What was slightly annoying was that they didn’t let us out of the buses in the same order we arrived which meant that the people who waited for hours ended up being the last ones into the studio.
It didn’t matter too much in the end as the studio itself was really small and Derren moved around a lot so you got a pretty good view for most of it, no matter where you stood.
In fact I spent most of my time trying to dodge the cameras…. both being in front of them, and getting crushed underneath them… they don’t half come at you out of the dark!!!

Haha I remember finding one of those Event flyers in the envelope on my chair at the Adelphi show. About five people hissed at me not to open it, because it was obviously a trick. I waited until the end of the show. No trick, so that showed them.
