so much detail in one tiny teaser. my money is on 0O. WEN the roulette wheel spins. It almost feels as though there is another millenium bug on the horizon. Have enjoyed the run up to this. The references to past shows, Russion Roulette, The Heist, Enigma. All very controlling. Feels like each series has been building us up to one big final showdown.

Possibly this is a speculation too far, but i was just watching the competition episode of trick of the mind (see entry above) and wondered whether it was significant that episode ends with the footballers he was using saying they might ask him for the lottery results for the weekend – given the lotto balls etc in the advert… of course, it may be coincidental…

I went to the last show he did in my end in may and noticed a major flaw so i hope this show relight my love for his skill
I’m just loving this, but the ‘auld brain is giving up trying to work anything out! We have ROTOR from previous posts, which puts one in mind of the devices used to break code… we’ve and the other ‘hidden’ words that really are not very hidden so possibly mean nothing, we have lotto numbers, It will be you, the capitalised letters and words in the post titles, the backwards videos, the slightly criptic wording of the C4 comp… and lots of other bit and pieces that people are picking up on – also an overall twin peaks feel that is just goose-pimple inducing in itself….
If i keep thinking about it I’ll start to make strange links where there are none at all!
I’m just going to have to wait for the 9th and see what happens then… off to bed I think!!!

The other site surely refers to manchester united. maybe football fixtures as man city play arsenal on the 12th september which is close to that competition date.. but he has spoken about ‘controlling the nation’. spooky. maybe im clutching at straws but i think theres something there being as he was in manchester aswell

I agree with what someone said, that when you watch the trailer in reverse (i. e. Derren speaking normally) it’s frightening watching him just missing the traffic by inches as he’s going backwards….and the end with that truck is even worse!

I believe that it is supposed to be a representation of misdirection, Janus-like, not knowing in which direction to look, as is DB’s intent with The Events.
I find it interesting how the Lottery slogan in this advert is “It WILL be you”, rather than the actual tagline of “It COULD be you”.
It’s possibly due to copyright.
On t’other hand though, the word “will” does suggest to me that there may be a bit of manipulation involved with the lottery on Derren’s part sometime soon…

I had the starngest thought once wouldnt, I thought what if darren brown was so cunning the biggest trick he ever played was to trick the country into believing his system by having theatres full of planned stooges as he would put it. I do doubt him after years of watching and feel the oddas are so astronomical that even the people who claim to be good at what they do in their fields slip up.
the logo on the reversed “manchester united” site and on the little girls balloon is a modified version of the coat of arms of Montenegro. It’s a double eagle which represents a lot of things throughout history. the freemasons saw it as the symbol of the duality of things in nature, man/woman, light/dark….

My theory is that all these other small elements in the trailer, lottery number stickers, it will be you slogan, red and black, eagle, white circle, backwards forwards theme etc is an attempt at a type of conditioning for the viewers who will be watching…
CONTINUED …on the night where it will all come into play and we may well find ourselves stuck to our seats. It wouldn’t be the first time Derren has done something like this, it’s just on an even larger scale.

Me and my girlfriend thought Derren sounded funny on his ‘upside-down’ competition question, so we recorded the audio and reversed it… linking in with the backmasking posts etc. The result is really, really tantalising, and we are convinced there are hidden messages in the reversed sound. We can hear ‘everything is not…’, ‘series seven’, and some other spooky bits which could be deciphered with a bit of work. The competition isn’t really that hard to find, so maybe there are instructions in the reversed audio to pick another answer? Try it and post any developments!!

A lot going on in that advert, a lot of people moving forward in it ,woman with a rolled up newspaper, guy on a skateboard, guy sweeping trash, guy with a briefcase, woman with a dog,guy hailing a taxi,girl with the balloon, and the woman pouring out her coffee, even a corsa appears to be moving forward. But only the woman on her mobile phone begins moving backwards then finishes the ad moving forward ,, anything to that I wonder? She looks hot
@Paul Watson – DB has influenced audiences before now. He made a cinema audience forget the film that they were watching, ‘Oceans 13′ and also suggested to the audience at ‘The Gathering’ that they forget their location and/or the events that they had witnessed. He has also suggested to people that they cannot move from their spots – the woman on the Zebra crossing in series two of ‘Trick of the Mind’, for instance. It isn’t too far-fetched to think that DB can also influence his television audience, given that the majority of us will be in a positive and accepting frame of mind and will also want to play along with the broadcasts.
I’ll be literally glued to my chair in anticipation of Derren’s new show…..;)

Sorry if this has already been said, but if the date that the Events is meant to be transmissioned really is 09/09/09, then that can also be said as 999 (the 9th day of the 9th month of the 9th year). 999 immediately makes you think of the emergency services aka the Police which is also related to one of Derren’s previous shows, the Heist.
I do agree with whoever said all of Derren’s previous stunts have been leading up to this one “Event”.

i played with some “clues” seen in the clip(run them through the system….) for few hours and it took me rather to a.c. milan (they play 09.09.09,they red and black as well, etc..) and dont ask me how i came to it(tried to retrace my steps but got lost ).its quite interesting though how many things in that clip are something else than we think they r .

All these theories are messing with my head! The lottery has been mentioned on here a lot and one thing I noticed was that the midweek draws are on a Wednesday night, and the first Event show is supposed to be live. I also can’t help thinking that all the ‘clues’ are maybe distractions, as Derren isn’t really going to want anyone to figure it all out beforehand as that would ruin it all! But hey, who knows!

What did you record the competition audio on to be able to reverse it? I want to try that as I am convinced that the competition can’t be as easy as it seems, unless it really is that obvious and that is the trick! I’m not sure what to record the audio on to play it back?

@LairyT – I used ‘Audacity’ which can be downloaded for free on PC’s and macs. I was surprised that garageband couldn’t reverse it on my mac… never mind. I tried listening for messages for a while and it’s really quite spooky (especially with Derren’s heavy breathing), I picked out a few bits out but not sure whether it’s ‘creative hearing’ or not. Phillis has since said that it’s just a straightforward video for the competition, so I haven’t worked much more on it. XX

Thanks for reply, since leaving my post I asked a relative who does editing etc to do it and they have emailed me it today. Not had chance to listen yet. You are probably right and there is nothing in it, given we are being told the competition is straight forward, but at least if I listen I can satisfy my own curiosity! Will let you know if I have any ‘creative hearing’ of my own.
Does anybody know, for sure, what the numbers on the post are? So far I’ve seen them written as 2, 25, 0, 6, 47 but I think the first number (top on the post) is possibly 12. Definately not just 2 anyway. I feel like I need to know. I wander if Derren’s hoping for us all to put the numbers on the lottery on the wednesday which happens to be the 9th. I’m sure he’ll be the first to point out that there is no way of influencing the lottery result and obviously, if we all put the numbers on and did somehow win, the prize would be very small due to the share out but as we were all told as we were growing up, it’s the taking part that counts. I think this is one instance I’m happy to agree. Perhaps this is where Derren succeeds. That is to say he is “controlling the nation”. And I like it.

So i’m guessing on one of the tricks he is somehow going to use a mixture of magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship to somehow make everyone watching unable to move?
That being said it’s going to be 4 episodes so there is probablly 3 or more other tricks, one of which involves the lottery?

I just figured something out, i was already half way there and i think a lot of you would have got it. The http://www.forward-splash.com website contains all 5 numbers that correspond to the ones on the lampost in the advert. They are- 25, 2, 47, 20, 06. And the sixth number i was thinking either 9 or 7 or maybe both added together 16.
I have been going over the advert and messages in the advert from the first time that I saw it, nearly everything about the advert caught my attention.
The Eagle on the balloon just hit me straight away as the Barclays bank logo which would also make sense in a way that Barclays sponsor the premier league and the site http://www.retsehcnamdetinu.com/

When derren says that the signs are right in front of us you just have to know where to look. He then looks at the girl with the balloon that has a barclays logo on it. I went to barclays site and there is a competition to win tickets for the premiereship! this ties in with the man united website on the bill board and if you click on the barclays comp you have to spin 5 balls and there are 5 numbers in the advert on the lampost coincedence or not? the numbers on the barclays site dont tie up with the numbers on the advert though. Anyone else noticed this?
Also if you look at the girl she is doing the same thing by raising her hands as derren also does on the website video for the competition to appear at the event. Ive tried to see what it says on the second bus just before the lorry with black and white (a card trick by the way) says anyone know.

I think it all has something to do with Russia. The bird on the balloon if you look at the logo on the fake Man U site it’s identical to the one on the Russian Coat of Arms! Not Barclay’s or CIA lol. Russia play football on the 9th. Obvious links to Roulette… Russia Roulette. The marking on the side of the Police car look more Russian than anything else. Also in his “Question” video on how to get tickets to the recording he is in front of a “Red Square” which is in Moscow Russia. Exciting.
I reckon what Johnny’s come up with here could happen, Derren’s had long enough to get to Russia. Maybe he predicted Obama becoming president? The advert seems to suggest clues to what the events will be but also the backwards theme may point to things that he has done in the past, The Heist (Russian) roulette the system, etc

i believe that the reveal has nothing to do with the lottery but a prediction to the owners of various websites that he will generate tens of thousands of hits to their sites by subliminal messaging . i believe that the bit of the show after the bit we saw as live was pre recorded and shown as live a few seconds after the event simple as that –the real trick was getting millions of folk to visit the sites
