That blog cites the following places where it was published or confirmed after publishing:

- In 2007, Swiss newspaper, Le Matin Dimanche
- France’s La Liberte spoofed it under the headline “A Small Scoop on Bush, Chirac, God, Gog and Magog.”
- ex-President Chirac confirmed in journalist Jean-Claude Maurice his new book, Si Vous le Répétez, Je Démentirai (If You Repeat it, I Will Deny), released in March by the publisher Plon.
- The Charleston Gazette in West Virginia, is the only U.S. newspaper to report it so far.
- Canada’s Toronto Star recounted the story, calling it a “stranger-than-fiction disclosure"

Maybe it's true, but not shocking to Americans, and so not news?

take care,

"By the way, in response to Lauren from NY, John Kerry is a fellow Skull & Bones initiate, along with Bush, so voting for him wouldn’t have made things any better. And let’s not forget: Obama hasn’t exactly pulled out of the Middle East either. They’re all nuts. All these politicians."

...Whoa. Okay, liberal that I am, I still haven't forgotten that we were *attacked* by fundamentalists from the very region you're defending just eight short years ago, so I'm actually quite glad we haven't pulled out of the Middle East. Should we ever have invaded Iraq? No, of course not; that was a horrible red herring. It is now the fault of our country and that idiotic invasion that Al-Qaeda has a stronghold there, because they didn't have one beforehand. Believe me, I know that. But to suggest that there should have been no retaliation to 9/11 is ridiculous. We should be pulling out of Iraq as soon as possible, and we are now that we have the right guy in office, but our presence in Afghanistan is certainly justified. I just wish we had the proper agenda from the start. I'm sorry we didn't.

"Skull and Bones" is a ridiculous Yale frat boy club, but that's about it. If you think they're anything more than that, you're paranoid--and, yes, I've studied them quite a bit--the reason it's populated by rich and famous good ol' boys is because that's pretty much your student population at Yale. Just because they're nutty and they drink each others' blood doesn't make them powerful. They're powerful because their daddies were, and they didn't have to attend Yale for that to be true. You're over thinking things. It's a frat. Get over it.

In the light of what we now know about Tony Blair's religious beliefs it would be interesting to know how George Bush's conversation with him on this subject went. "Has the Lord spoken to you yet this morning about the mission we must undertake for Him in the Middle East? .........."

Ditto to Lauren - NY. And please don't forget that the majority of us voted for Gore in 2000. There will never come a day when I stop being angry that he was our president for 2 terms.

Let's see... he lies about weapons of mass destruction, invades Iraq and kills 1 million people, then says "God told me to go fight those terrorists", then does stand up comedy routines, e.g. "Nope.. no weapons of mass destruction over here"... and now this.
