Armed with explosives, two men are heading to Mongolia’s desert to find the fabled acid-spitting and lightning-throwing Mongolian death worm. The worm is allegedly found in the country’s Gobi Desert and has never been documented but locals strongly believe it exists.
Measuring about 1.5m long, the worm apparently jumps out of the sand and kills people by spitting concentrated acid or shooting lightning from its rectum over long distances. New Zealand resident and journalist David Farrier will spend two weeks trying to verify the worm’s existence.
He and cameraman Christie Douglas will make a documentary about their adventure.

hopefully the yeti will give them an on-camera interview too…
I saw a documentary about these creatures the other week. It was called Tremors
darn…that´s some Jedi-mouth
I can’t for the life of me imagine why anyone would want to find an acid-spitting death worm. The clue is in the name.
Unless they were a huge Dune fan, I suppose.
Could they bring me back some Spice? The Spice must flow!!!
Excellent. Perhaps while they are at it, they can have a look for the bonnacon! It was a part horse, part ox and medieval bestiaries describe it so:
“however much his front end does not defend this monster, his belly end is amply sufficient. For when he turns to run away, he emits…the contents of his large intenstine, which covers three acres. And any tree that it reaches catches fire”
Lovely!
Why don’t they call it a snake … eheheh … it does have the proper size. The attack tools are not unknown in nature, but I doubt that it is a worm if it exists.
Oh David Farrier, please don’t ever stop being crazy!
He’s doing it for the adventure of a lifetime. It’s all self funded, with contributions from friends like me. I think you will find it’s got more to do with the adventure than the worm…
It beats reporting on Michael Jackson’s death for two weeks in LA.
I wouldn’t mind putting on my resume “Documentary – Expedition to hunt for the Mongolian death worm in Mongolia using explosives”
This guy is my new hero!
