A US judge has thrown out a case against God, ruling that because the defendant has no address, legal papers cannot be served. The suit was launched by Nebraska state senator Ernie Chambers, who said he might appeal against the ruling.
He sought a permanent injunction to prevent the “death, destruction and terrorisation” caused by God. Judge Marlon Polk said in his ruling that a plaintiff must have access to the defendant for a case to proceed.
“Given that this court finds that there can never be service effectuated on the named defendant this action will be dismissed with prejudice,” Judge Polk wrote in his ruling. Mr Chambers cannot refile the suit but may appeal.

What a Legend!
God has no fixed address, so perhaps the next step should be to sue his ‘estate’ – or his earthly representatives? Pick any one you like, personally I’d love it to be the pope.
his name wasn’t billy connoly was it! (man who sued god) ha ha!
Nice. Very nice
Brilliant…God has no mailing address…he does have a facebook though?….
Wow XD
Winslow once went to heaven,
And saw a poor fellow in quod.
The man said, “I didn’t do it,”
So naturally, Winslow sued God.
It was a long time ago, I think that’s right.
I love how god looks like Papa Smurf in that picture
Every one knows his address!!
The Throne,
C/O St Peter
The Pearly Gates
Heaven.
Or if you want his son its the chair to the left, The Throne, etc!! lol!
I think the ‘blame culture’ has gone too far, I know every one has to have some one to blame and sue these days but blaming ‘him up there’ ain’t the answer! (That’s if you believe he’s up there! I’m being polite!!)
Does that mean you could sue Santa, since he has a real address?

In other news – that’s a bit mean of Royal Mail, asking kids to buy a stamp for their letter to Santa!
How far is heaven
Yeah, Lord can you tell me
i guess not…
I think this is a ridiculous waste of the senator’s, who is apparently a grandstanding egomaniac, and the court’s time and resources. I am vaguely irritated by it.
Ehehehe ….. that\’s a good one … Up There, that\’s the address ….
Words cannot describe how ludicrous (and brilliant) I think this story is. And I love the judge’s explanation for throwing out the case;
“Given that this court finds that there can never be service effectuated on the named defendant this action will be dismissed with prejudice.”
Translated, I think that means, “The plaintiff’s a nutcase….end of.”
Thank you for posting this, its made my day!
So the courts have finally determined that God is NOT everywhere, and indeed can not be contacted even through the use of prayer.
Interesting.
A basic Google will reveal that Sen. Chambers filed the lawsuit to draw attention to another lawsuit he considered “frivolous and inappropriate… where a woman was taking a Judge to federal court for ruling that the words “rape”, “sexual assault kit”, “victim”, and “assailant” could not be used in her testimony.”
Repeating ‘dumb people’ stories like this without providing context does yourself no favours.
