food vs poison...
anyone ever get into gardening? it's sort of amazing how fast you start to pick up on what's an edible and what's not. and how eager people are to share what they know on the subject. then there's the folks who write you off as a hippy for growing your own veggies...

weird to think about robots processing that sort of stuff

This kind of AI is very interesting and difficult to produce, take a couple of years to perfect.
At the end of the road they are trying to make "the matrix" a reality in some kind of way, where the computers/robots will have their own mind and will construct their own worlds (in a way like the project from Google and Virgin to send people to Mars and will let the machines construct a city for them automatically without effort).
This is much of a reality nowadays, so its not impossible to accomplish, although dont see the point in it though.

LOL! That\'s not real science ofcourse .. they way they put it out .. and def. nothing to with what is going on nature. in fact .. there are already a few mistakes in this article when they start to compare ... (too many animals around the same food locations does not work for animals either e.g.).
They don\'t describe most of the things you wonder about ... the scientific stuff in it that is ... that\'s completey not described .. the science of robotics .. It\'s more that they enhanced some stuff to make it look like something different .. or make it look similar to nature .. sort of .. The original article in PNAS is ofcourse better. But often not suiteable for peopole not into the field. Good scientists can write a short overview of their research in plain english .. should...

Crown Jewels Stolen.
Everyone Wins The Lottery, Including You.
Big Ben Reversed.
And the fourth? Well. I have some ideas.

But this is what I'd do if I had the kind of support good old DB does. These things are huge, but simpler than you think.

When I was at school, in CDT we had to build one of the 8 designs we were provided with. They were all different kinds of robots or machines.

One was a train signal and barrier that flashed and dropped when trains were approaching, one was a climbing device...... there were a few.

I opted to build a robot that followed light. If you stood in front of the robot and turned a torch on, it would come towards you. If you stepped left or right, it would adjust itself too. It was ace!

Having read this, I'm a little worried that my robot wasn't actually seeing light, but actually seeing a food source! Now I feel guilty! If I'd have known it was hungry, I'd have pointed the torch at it for a bit longer.

I feel like I abused my robot now. (And I don\'t mean that as a...

I'm 100% certain this is Bollocks but it will fuck with your head.
So. We all know there is a bunch of hidden...shit all over this blog. Everyone's brain has become mush from watching the trailer for The Events 100 times.
Several of the posts recently have mentioned the Swiss (Toblerone logo and these robotnics ^)
In the Trailer for the Events there is a Bird on a Balloon. Also, there is a recurring theme of Red and Black (Printed on the truck and the Posters etc) So, (Ha, this is funny)
In Switzerland they mainly speak? German. The German state flag had a very similar bird on it which was adopted around the 1950's. The colours of the bird on this flag are..Red and Black. Derren spent time at University studying what language?People say voices Recorded backwards sound like...

If you want to go for the full Frankenstein factor, then consider this story in the light of the recent news that the U.S. Army were funding the development of a self-sustaining war robot that could utilise organic material on the battlefield for fuel. Now pop these nuggets into the head of a Daily Mail reader and shake vigorously and you have - Fkesh-eating war robots that can deceive and evolve. I wonder whether they will have an Austrian accent? :o)
