THE U.S. GOVERNMENT’S REMOTE VIEWING CULT

Like many other belief systems that are born from any pseudo-scientific examination of paranormal concepts, the government’s analysis of the psychic phenomenon eventually resulted in a whole community of believers within the government’s scientific community.

In 1979, when the DIA took over funding and tasking of remote viewing research, interest within intelligence and scientific circles was spreading rapidly. While the majority of folks who were in charge of funding and tasking of this specific government experimental research were believers, there was also a contingent of scientists who were not quite as enthusiastic about the subject matter under analysis. As Kenneth Kress pointed out in his analysis, many government insiders felt that SRI’s procedures and experimental controls were quite unscientific.

By 1980, project “GRILL FLAME” was the collective code for all ongoing projects under the collective oversight of the DIA. SRI alone was estimated to run close to $1 million annually (Schnabel). (This is valued at $2.9 million in 2006)

Psychic Warfare from 1981-2008

The year I was born, in 1981, the US Government decided magick was real. Well, the “US Government” is of course an abstraction—specifically, Congressional Research Service was commissioned to do a report on psychic phenomena and offered the following conclusion:
“Recent experiments in remote viewing and other studies in parapsychology suggest that there exists an ‘interconnectiveness’ of the human mind with other minds and with matter.

This interconnectiveness would appear to be functional in nature and amplified by intent and emotion.” That sounds like a pretty accurate description of magick to me. Score one for the weirdos, right?

Charlie Brooker – The Hell of it All – possibly the best book ever written?

People often say to me “Phillis, why do you love Charlie Brooker so?”, to which I can give no single answer. So given the chance I’d crawl 3 miles across broken glass just to lick the last seat Mr Brooker sat on – even if he’d had bad wind and was unwell shortly before. A fair and unbiased review won’t be taking place in this instance. But that redresses the balance considering all the heinous rot permanently seeping in to every moist nook and cranny of our lives on a day to day basis.

No need to worry about the contents of the book (it’s mostly taken from his columns in the Guardian) it’s of course all very funny and incredibly well written. The fact that Charlie Brooker hasn’t been put on some Genius-of-our-time list is a modern day tragedy. Hawking may understand the intricate nature of 11 dimensional M-Theory but when it comes to theories about the absolute flaming bloody obvious he’s misses the mark. That’s where Brooker will step in and put you right.

So twisted is everyone’s mind from the hideous nonsense they’re bombarded with on a daily basis, it’s easy to lose sight of reality and forget where normality, decency and kindness disappeared to. The Hell of it All tackles all this from the misery of nightclubs to the death of Michael Jackson, Sir Alan Sugar, potato crisps, global financial meltdown and conspiracy theories. It’s all in there and you can read it. Adopt Brooker’s opinion as your own and join in the fight to build utopia.

I will be buying two copies, one to read, the other to soil.

Order your copy now or I’ll be very upset with you.

5 Ways To Hack Your Brain Into Awesomeness

Cracked.com have a few interesting ideas on how to “hack your brain”. I have actually tried the sleep method – which whilst good for getting work done, sends you slightly crazy.

“What if we told you there was a way to sleep for little more than two hours a day, and still feel more refreshed than taking a 12-hour siesta on a bed made entirely out of baby kitten fur? No more sneaking naps at the fry station for you”

Poster problems

Sorry but the art site went down (it’s still on the old server and wasn’t visited as much) but still 16,000 of you managed to get there and crash it. So we’re moving that to the new super server. It will be down for a bit but back online soon.

For now if you want to look at the portraits online please go to our flickr gallery.

The posters got hit quite hard and most orders got blocked – as a result for the next week if you order a poster you’ll be included with the initial orders and be at the top of the competition queue. All later orders will be delayed when we send out clues so you’ll have a lot of catching up to do.

If you have ordered and it’s not turned up yet – let us know but we are still seeing 3 week backlogs at some post offices.

Scholars try to rescue reputation of royal wizard John Dee

Scholars are trying to restore the reputation of the last English royal wizard, Dr John Dee, over claims dating back 400 years that he was involved in sorcery. Dee is regarded as one of the period’s leading scholars, who cast horoscopes for Queen Mary and her Spanish husband, Philip, and suggested the most auspicious date for the coronation of Elizabeth I.

But he was also said to use crystal balls to communicate with angels and collaborated with a conman who assured him the angels had suggested a spot of wife-swapping.Now a group of international scholars gathered in Cambridge has tried to restore his reputation, four centuries on. Jenny Rampling, who organised the weekend two-day conference at Dee’s old college, St John’s – where he became an undergraduate aged 15 – to celebrate him as a forgotten hero of English intellectual life.

ENIGMA hidden competition triggered.

So finally after quite a few weeks some of you picked up on the hidden UV code in the posters that has triggered off the next competition by uploading it to You Tube and identifying the hidden word SOLOS/ROTOR/KAYAK etc in BRAILE in UV. (More on this later)

We KNOW that some of you haven’t had your posters yet and we are VERY SORRY about this. The lovely Tash emailed me very recently to tell me her poster only just arrived despite it’s post date of the 4th. This is due to the postal strikes – however it seems to be clearing up now.

So we’re holding off for a little while to make sure everyone who ordered BEFORE today is DEFINITELY included. Anyone ordering after today can take part in the competition when you receive your poster – you may be a bit behind though.

If you ordered before the 4th of September and haven’t received anything please email me immediately – some orders came through with no address – others have payment problems with pay pal – you should have been notified – get in touch and I’ll sort it out personally. Anyone who ordered after the 4th, your poster is on its way to you.

The prize will be announced soon and it’s going to be very nice – keep your eyes peeled for more codes and you’ll know things have kicked off when you see the rabbit.

Enjoy.
