Let us know if the trick worked on you. Post a comment and tell us how long you were stuck – or maybe you just had a little trouble getting up as quickly as you normally would. Maybe it didn’t work at all and you think it was all a load of rubbish. We don’t know what the response will be but let us know. (and if this page gets slammed with 1000’s of comments we will have to archive them somewhere).

Looking at tweets you may have a 1/30 rate of success with the tech-savvy group. The ‘remain calm’ things you put up makes us think of the ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ posters and we’re craving proper tea with leaves in a pot instead.

  19. Chelsea says:

I didn’t get stuck but I was laughing and couldn’t control myself? It was really strange.

  31. Daniel Reid says:

I didn’t get stuck but during the film my hands felt very heavy… but nothing afterwards. Sad times.

  32. Eddie says:

Didn’t work for me however i did notice a few things:

A flash of a subliminal image (not sure what it was but was mainly white)

Before the last break all of a sudden it seemed that Derren’s face was coming out of the screen and all my focus was on him, it felt really weird

Other than that i can stand and walk fine

  33. It didn’t work for me. I was hoping that it would, but it didn’t. :(

    didnt work.

  43. melonman says:

HEY,, just watched it, i’m not sure what it did to me, i felt in my mind that i couldnt stand up but when i went through the prosses of standing up i could after about 20 seconds,,
stil thaught it was cool.. any way of seeing it again??

  44. Alex Ross says:

It didn’t work for me, though I did feel very odd during the film (and during Derren’s presumably significant preamble). But I got up as normal afterwards.

  45. Cooper says:

I missed it – how did it work out for everyone else?

  46. Simon Nicks says:

My other half Charlie reacted very strangely to this.

He is sat here in a sort of trance, with tears rolling down his face. It is very uncomfortable!

    Still cant move even now.

    Scared!

  47. Sean says:

My back felt kinda sore but i wasent stuck at all.

  50. Rachel says:

    Nope, not stuck. Sorry. :(

  51. Rich Ames says:

I didn’t get stuck to my chair, but I think the sort of chair matters and how concentrated you are during the programme. During the film, I did feel my arms getting light and wanting to lift in the air like one of the test subjects.

  52. James says:

    No effect. Little disappointed, tbh.

  53. Ann says:

    No sticking for me.

  57. Robyn says:

Didn’t end up stuck but felt really sluggish & getting up wasn’t easy. My mum ended up glued solid…Hilarious!

  58. Krazy XP says:

Nope, didn’t work. FAIL. But then again, Derren is a crafty bastard, so i’m sure it worked on some people!

  59. Sam Russell says:

Sadly not though I feel nice and relaxed now! :D

  60. Laura says:

I didn’t get stuck, but I was sat on the edge of my bed and had to turn my head to see the tv which I suppose wasn’t the best position. Will try again on the repeat, hehe

  61. frizfrizzle says:

It worked. It’s weird. I love the people on Twitter saying it didn’t work.

It didn’t work because you were friggin’ tweeting about it.

  66. ConnorJack says:

Wow! I can lean forward and even get up, but only for a few seconds. I really can’t stay up for more than 2 or 3 seconds.

  67. Joanne Farrell says:

I wasn’t stuck to my seat but my upper thighs felt really really heavy, and my field of vision outside of the TV screen went grey/blurry.

Why were they two subliminal flashes so consciously obvious, though? Can’t imagine they were the ‘real’ reason people were stuck to their seats as they stayed on screen too long to have been effective (OFCOM regulations?).

  68. Gary Eddleston says:

Sorry, this never worked for me

  69. Emma says:

It didn’t really work for me, I felt it when I was watching the film but then afterwards I wasn’t stuck or anything. My body aches quite a lot though, especially my shoulders and I feel a bit shaky so I think it might have had some kind of effect. Like you said though, there may be distractions or something I don’t know! Interesting to watch though!!

  70. Beth says:

    I meant check LOL.

  71. Hrhpod says:

    Nope

  72. kathleen says:

I didn’t get to watch as I live in Canada . These things never work on me. That actually makes me kinda sad. Didn’t seem to work on any of my friends in the UK though. :(

  73. pam says:

Wasn’t stuck, although I enjoyed the bit of film, very psychedelic and calming.

  74. Jane says:

No, nothing, pretty much leapt up, only delay was to pick up the kittens on my lap … come to think of it, THEY might be stuck to the chair …

  75. Elyse says:

Wasn’t stuck to my seat, but I felt my calves go really heavy, and pre-pins and needles feeling up my legs. I didn’t feel like I was fighting it, but I must’ve been, somehow.

  76. Jack Moneypenny says:

It didn’t work on me, which is highly disappointed as I am open to Derren usually. I wonder what went wrong…

  77. nicola says:

Bit disappointed! I felt queasy and a bit heavy but thats it! Clearly im not susceptible!

  78. Darren says:

I got straight up, although it took me more effort than it usually does. Not sure if that means the subliminal stuff was true, or not.

  79. Nope, could stand up straight away… bit disappointed tbh.

  80. Dan says:

My head sunk. Felt like I was going to pass out. When it finished I felt fine.

  81. Sara says:

Didn’t work! I actually found it easier to get up than usual! Could you do a version to help me out of bed in the mornings, please? x

  82. Kit says:

No, but I couldn’t move my legs until I pushed arms to the base of my seat

  83. Ian says:

I’m stuck to my chair….but that’s largely due to anticipation of peep show and IT crowd.
    does that count?

  84. Sean says:

    Didn’t get stuck :( … I believe he did it… I just wasn’t stuck =[ Oh well… Was worth a try & was good show anywayz :)

  85. Scott says:

naa i felt my arms a bit heavier but got up when i tried

  86. Hannah says:

You, Derren Brown are a terrifying man. I was so scared when I was stuck I was crying, I was absolutly hysteric for a few minutes afterwards but I calmed down after :)

  87. Vixter says:

nope… gutted! if we watch C4+1 can we try again?!

  96. brian carthy says:

    awwww i didn’t get stuck, thats dissappointing…

  98. Magic little katie says:

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no didn’t work on me ;(((

  101. Ellie says:

It didn’t work on meee or my sister! :[[[

  102. Daniel Farrell says:

    Check your #Stucktomysofa on twitter.
It obviously didnt work for like 1 in 100

  103. Scott says:

Nope! Sorry Derren! I noticed those diagrams of a body flashing up a few times though, does that affect it?

  104. Luke says:

It didn’t work for me I’m afraid. I think that because I’ve read all Derren’s books (including Pure Effect and Absolute Magic) as well as Andy Nyman’s books, Luke Jermay’s books and a whole plethera of others I knew what I was looking for.

  105. Steve Goodman says:

No!!! 46″ TV perfect position! Gutted!!!!!

  106. Laurence says:

No…..didn’t work, your audience didn’t look very surprised, their responses seemed very scripted!

  107. Vicki says:

Nope… I really did try but your hoo doo voodoo just doesn’t work on me. :)

  108. Holly says:

Didn’t get stuck, but my head felt very heavy. Very well done, Derren Brown is a God! :) xx

  109. Clueless says:

But where can I watch it? I´d like to give it a go!

  110. Paul Cox says:

Wow! It worked.. i was stuck to the chair it was so wierd. I burst out laughing as my hands were stuck to my legs too!

    great show derren
    Paul

Not a thing happened to me. V disappointed derren

  112. Ellie says:

  115. xpirate says:

I turned off all the lights so I could really get into it and I really really wanted it to work ………but NOTHING happened at all, So disappointed!

  116. Ben Harris says:

My legs were very heavy, but I was able to stand almost straight away. Also when the clearing tone was played my legs began to feel lighter.

  117. az says:

remain calm and carry on. great show guys.

  118. Tracey Mallett says:

My legs felt really heavy could not get up for a while.

  119. Barry Elliott says:

I felt heavier but not stuck to the seat, my legs feel heavy. Shame really I wish these sort of things worked on me better. Good program though, enjoyable as always.

  120. Alex says:

Stopped watching cos scared of triggering migraine. Hubbie did it but felt nothing.

  121. fayella says:

    I am a little confused.

I think I might have been slightly distracted by Derren’s very red eyes, and the flashing pictures of people tied to chairs.

  122. Neph says:

Didn’t work- but my head got really heavy watching the film!
Shame! Really wanted it to work!

  123. Laura says:

Sorry. No, Hopef it would work for either me or my husband but didn’t.

  126. Alex says:

My legs felt really heavy, but that was it..
But I was really self-conscious because my mum was there, so I think that kinda stopped m from relaxing..

I recorded it. I’ll see if it works twice :D

    Nice one, Derren!

  127. Liz says:

Sort of, nearly, ish. Felt like the early stages of hypnotism – when a conscious bit of you thinks ‘yeah I could get up if I tried’ but you just cant….be….arsed….

  128. Katie says:

I could stand up, but while the video was on my head was shaking and my stomach was making noises

didn’t get stuck, but flet totally calm/happy and was in a warm fuzzy place

  130. Like a bj says:

    Would u ;@

  131. Mike says:

It was strange..my arms and legs started to feel heavy and I felt like I was sinking into the chair the move the movie played…but then it just went and the feeling went away. Really disappointed. Think it was the distractions in the house that didn’t help.

  132. Weekendpants says:

Did not stick. It is clear how this works. He was saying if you are ‘creative’ and ‘talented’ it will work on you…. people wanted to believe they were stuck to feel part of it.
Did feel strange compulsion to drink more wine though… oh well. I should give in to that I s’pose.

  133. JRabone says:

it wasnt sublimial it was derren suggestively telling you to stick and then the film was just to make you think that it was subliminali

  134. Hiheels says:

Despite wanting it to, it didn’t work for me.

We know…well, you know better than the rest of us, the reasons behind what makes it work, but why does it not work on some?

  135. Siobhán says:

No, I was all dissappointed, though I didn’t really think I would be I tried to just go along and accept it, but not even a little bit :(

Still enjoyed the show all the same!! :)

  136. freya says:

felt heavier than normal but could get up.
but im going to try it again on channel 4 +1 :)

  137. Victoria Ellis says:

My heart raced, and my arms and legs went all tingly. It was a bit like having them fall asleep, or having a nicotine rush… but I didn’t get stuck. Still, enjoyable as always! Well Done!

  138. Nikki says:

I just sat there and laughed I felt so so giggly all of a sudden, I was able to stand though. :( !

  139. MummyAINSWORTH says:

wanted to play, but man was explaining how Paul Daniels did it better and stuck his feet under my nose. Good trick though, just a shame couldn’t join in.

  140. Jeff says:

No it didn’t, although my legs did feel slightly weaker and a little shaky, but I stood up easily enough.

    however i am a quadriplegic

    pls help derren

  142. Mel says:

No…not at all. I did feel pretty chilled out though, but that’s it. Disappointing.

  143. Wayne Owens says:

    Alas no effect.

I wonder if there is less results from the techy people as most will probably be trying to work it out as its going along and as such miss out on the being relaxed and letting it hit subconscious.

  144. dave says:

    Didn’t work

  145. Clare says:

Watched with my dad neither of us stuck my dog wined a bit when the film was on might have just been the sound tho

  146. Didn’t do anything to me but maybe I’m just not the suggestible type.

  147. Alice says:

Nothing happened but I did move during the ad break.

  148. matthew wilkinson says:

    DID NOT WORK
    WHY

  149. becky gardner says:

i got stuck to the chair after the minute was up, and when derren played the messages up on the screen – amazing!!!! was really worried but thought it was funny!!!!

  150. James Caldwell says:

Well, I saw the images flashing of a man tied to a chair with a white background throught the show, which would explain why the “internet version” wouldn’t work, rather than being an issue of resolution. I did like the way he implied that those who arn’t stuck are uncreative and such, basically giving them a reason to want to sit. It was very interesting though, despite the clues all along the way.

  151. Georgina says:

I didnt stick at all, I noticed the flashing images of people stuck in there chairs and giggled every time one appeared. I think this might have thrown it all off abit. Watching again on 4+1 as suggested to see if we can give it a second go.

  152. wow, so weird, my legs and arms were really heavy but felt really relaxed, it only took about 30 seconds to be able to move and was surprised the film was so calming. What were the two images flashed up while you were talking before the film?

  153. angela weiss says:

I had a heavy bottom, but also I laughed to the point I cried…… Seriously is that normal?????

  154. gibb says:

nope , but did see image of someone tied to a chair , ropes around waist ,

  155. Aaron Gabriel says:

    very sadly NO :(

  156. Jessica says:

Didn’t get completely stuck but my legs, back and arms felt very heavy to move just after the film! Wish it hadve worked on me though! What were the screen flashes before and after though?

  157. Dante says:

Didn’t work on me, really wanted it to though! haven’t moved anyway – new peep show!

  158. Amadeus Xu says:

Didnt work on me, though i felt slightly heavy..

  159. Ken says:

I was able to get up straight away and dance … unbelievable as I couldn’t dance to save my life before .

  160. F says:

omg, it made me cry! like for no reason just tears and I couldnt move to wipe my eyes… I wasnt scared tho it was just odd…

  161. Jen says:

Sorry, didn’t work. Wish it had.

  162. Katie Mackenzie says:

    Great amazing wonderfull

  163. Nathan says:

My back seemed to just melt into the chair, and then felt really heavy. When I tried to get up afterwards, I did stand up but sort of fell back into my chair.

And also, don’t know if you did this you sneaky magician, I am really hungry. Wasn’t hungry at all before.

  164. euan says:

    no i’m dissapointed.

  165. colleen says:

i got stuck then it wore off, it was amazing i wanna know how!

  166. Smudger says:

Stuck stuck stuck.. Me and my twin sister… we both just looked at each other and said NOoooooo!… Amazing stuff

Didn’t work, kinda dissapointed, is it on tomorrow again?

  168. Ellie says:

Didn’t work here either, and there were three of us! Really wanted it to work too :( I shall have to try again when it’s repeated. Might have had something to do with the giggling fit that we had just beforehand….

  169. Jess P says:

    im gutted.
it didnt work on me, or the 30ish friends that also tried it. :(

  170. rebecca says:

wasnt stuck, but felt very heavy!

  171. gibb says:

nope , but saw image of guy teid to chair around the waist

  172. Dante says:

didn’t work on me, really wanted it to though. Haven’t moved anyway – new Peep Show!

  173. Didn’t get stuck, but my face felt quite heavy and I started laughing. Which confused me a lot. Still much better than last week.

  174. Johnny says:

i didn’t get stuck, will try in an hour in a better chair and a bigger screen though! REALLY hope it works this time.

  175. katie says:

Not stuck (too cynical) but i did notice several black and white images of people stuck in chairs throughout the show.

  176. Nikki says:

Didn’t work on me, but I recognised your pre-amble from games I used to play on people when I was younger – talking as if they were on a beach and getting heavy and then telling them to stand up… They very rarely could.

    Enjoyable show nonetheless!

  177. Jackqueenking says:

No, this didn’t work on me, I was kinda hoping it would have :-( Was niceand relaxing though, straight into Alpha :-)

  178. Linda says:

I started to feel like I was sinking in my chair, but then my boyfriend started talking and I couldn’t concentrate. Will watch again, as I definitely felt like I was starting to stick.

  179. Ed Trist says:

Nope, nothing for me. Was really hoping it’d work on me, but I’m sure it did work on a lot of people.

  180. Jayj says:

No wasn’t stuck. But get the feeling I should have given fully attention from the second the ad break ended

  181. Sean Cleary says:

I wasn’t stuck. But standing did feel quite wierd. It took longer. Only by 3 seconds or so. But it was still strange

  182. Lady Claire says:

Not stuck, but my bottom didn’t want to rise when I tried to get up. I COULD get up but it was jolly hard work! My legs felt heavy and my heart was beating like mad. I still feel shaky now.
So even though I wasn’t stuck per se, I definitely had some sort of reaction to the film.
    Very weird experience!

    LC x

  183. Yana says:

i think it worked…. i started to feel heavy when he was talking to us just before the film then i panicked about half way thru and felt like i didnt have the energy to get up, hands stuck to legs for about 10 seconds. only stood up when the phone calls were coming in. i think he made us believe we couldnt get up, that film just made us think about it more

  184. matt says:

dont think it worked for me, i really wanted it to,,, it was weird though my heart was racing and i found myself standing at the end and doing everything the short bit at the end told me to like lean forward lean forward,
derren come round my house and hypnotise me please….or do another show, …….shall be watching 4+1

  185. D says:

Nice one, Derren…. well done :)

Wondering why it didn’t get to me… could my bipolar be the problem? Hypnos etc have told me I’m very receptive to suggestion. Gonna watch it again on 4ID tomorrow…

  186. Paul says:

I wasn’t stuck at all. Not surprised I usually don’t fall for PWA stuff. Im a graphic design student so are trained to see things. the flashing pictures of the drawing of a women tied to a chair with rope were very obvious. I sat in a chair 50cm away from a 19inch tv in a dark room, alone. I did feel really happy about half way through the video, made me smile and almost laugh. but stood right up. is very interesting though and can’t wait for the other events =]. I think the fact I knew it was supposed to make me stick made me not, I dunno just speculating.

  187. Kelly Manton says:

I didn’t stick and neither did my partner who was watching. Pretty disappointing for us both I think!

  188. Sarah says:

Nothing for me and my boyfriend. But, we are stuck to the sofa for PEEP SHOW…YAY!

  189. Nikki says:

I felt a bit heavy but managed to get up think I stood up to early xos I felt really weird for a second!! Was still brilliant tho!!!!

  190. Victoria says:

Peeved…..didn’t get stuck but I got the shakes worse than the biggest shaky thing!

  191. Wheffsindahud says:

Nope, didn’t work on me although my legs feel slightly heavy but I can still stand. Gonna watch it on +1 to see if it works again.

  192. Dave Hodgson says:

untill the first time it said lean forward on the screen i could not even move my hand then i started unstick

  193. Achim says:

Didn’t work for me but I liked the show regardless.

  194. Kat says:

Nothing beyond feeling slightly dizzy for me – and I’ve been feeling like that most of the day. Slightly dissapointed.

Nobody I know has been stuck either (asked about 10 people). Maybe us Guide Leaders are a resistant bunch. ;)
Shall have to try again on Sky+ (I assume it’ll work as it’s on a proper tele and not the internet?) when my sister isn’t stood behind me sniggering and on a decent size TV instead of my fuzz tiny one in my room!

  195. vickie says:

Didn’t get stuck, but my bum felt really heavy and a bit odd

  196. Mike says:

yes I was stuck for some time, legs started to feel heavy when the film started and couldn’t get up until the blue screen came on. loved the whole experience!

  197. Darxo says:

Well, yeah it was a little difficult for me to get stuck but then, I just got up.
Maybe that was me fighting it…
    :(

  198. Hannah says:

I got stuck! I could get up mostly but I couldn’t move the tops of my legs off the bed. Very weird!

  199. Kerri says:

Didn’t get stuck but odd reaction from my step-daughter. Full on hysterical laughter and could barely move. Tears, pain, laughter the lot! Very odd!

Kindly caught her on camera – so can blackmail her with that obviously :)

  200. Si says:

Wasn’t stuck but was really extra heavy and took a lot of effort to get up.

  201. John says:

I wasnt stuck to the chair, but half way through the screening I had an awful sensation in my ears and pressure on the sides of my head!!! As if that was stuck!

  202. sophie says:

i got stuck. i didn’t want to (i was actually watching it thinking ‘ha, there’s no way I’LL get stuck!’) and then i couldn’t move my legs, back or arms. it was really bizarre, i started laughing hysterically and panicking a little bit, mostly because i was just so shocked that it had worked.

the minute the ‘clearing tone’ started playing i went from being unable to move anything below my neck (and my feet, i could move those) to standing up like normal.

    very weird. i feel quite sick/dizzy now…

  203. Disaidra says:

i used to be able to make myself feel stuck to my seat without a video. i i was willing it to work, and i even felt heavy and stuck for a bit ,but the second i tried to get up it just went. so basically, i could get a better effect with just the power of my own mind. :( i’m really sad, it would have been cool if it worked

  204. D says:

    @ Mama_Haze on Twitter :)

  205. Christine says:

My legs and bum weren’t stuck but my shoulders were. Could be because I was kinda slouched so feet could touch the floor (big sofa and litte legs). The effects have only just worn off and I’m feeling a bit dizzy.

    Cheers mate

  206. Carrie Harayel says:

well i didnt work for me but then i decided although i watched the film not to do what he said to do before hand because it scared me!
what the heck was them flashes before and after the film did anyone see?

  207. Ceren says:

    Nope, nothing ;____;

  208. Oyar F says:

That was ‘effing weird. Although it was cool when it happened, sorta. Wooh, I feel special, ‘cos I’m not very suggestible. I’ll be C4+1ing this.

  209. TraceyLynn says:

I didn’t get stuck to my chair during the video, but afterwards, watching the instructions, stay calm and what not, I came over a bit sleepy and felt like I could’ve got up, but I just had no desire too.

  210. kirsty says:

I got stuck! my younger brother who was watching with me didn’t but is re-watching it closer.
I wasnt fully stuck but my bum and legs were. afterwards I felt a pain in my knee that kept shooting (every now and then). Very weird! I still feel quite heavy and I felt dizzy during…
ughh weird. (was that pain normal or an effect of it?)

  211. Hollie Gallimore says:

Naaw :( my daddy did :D was pretty awsome! im disapointed will watch in an hour thenn ;) xx

  212. Mark says:

Wasn’t stuck but noticed the white picture with the man roped to the chair on it. Was quite interesting to see the people in the cinema though.

  213. chris M says:

    i got stuck

i started breaking out in a sweat why the video played and i couldnt get up

    scary

  214. donalfall says:

Got a woeful pain in my neck that built as the video played. My friend had a stiffness in her legs. No affect on the other 2 people in the room.

  215. Linda says:

It worked on my boyfriend! He couldn’t traighten his legs at the knee joints for a few minutes. It didn’t work on me as I looked away from the telly cos I am a wus. The music made me feel anxious though.

  216. Jade Allen says:

I wasent affected but my mum was! She was stuck for about 10 mins :) She was fine when the relax screen came on. We are freaked out though!! Derren Brown=amaaaaaazing!! :D

  217. karen and sammy says:

Didnt work for me i got distracted but the 3 people i was with it worked on. now going to watch it again on plus 1 :) :) ,

  218. amanda says:

got up then sat down then i couldnt move it was strange but i believe

  219. Bren says:

Didn’t work on me, or any of my family (though that may be because I rather stupidly talked over the speech he gave just before the film, which I imagine may have been far more the point than the film itself).

  220. Does anyone know if it will work again if you watch it again?

  221. Marion says:

    Didn’t work :(

But my family were making a lot of noise at the time :(

  222. jameshogg says:

Got quite stuck. Played around with the feeling for a bit before I thought my way out of it (I knew how ’cause I study info about subliminals and suggestion).

  223. Demi McD says:

Didn’t get stuck, but felt shaky when I tried to! Awesome Derren, just brilliant!
    Demi
    x

  224. Chia Suan Chong says:

I would really like to know what it is that makes some of us more susceptible than others. I really wanted to get stuck but it didn’t work. Hypnosis doesn’t seem to work on me either. Could it be that I’m too cerebral? My brain has a mind of its own…

  225. rachel says:

Holy Crap! that was soooo weird! i was stuck and could not get up! I felt a little sick throughout the program, got stuck, and now feel fine! weird!

  226. kirsty says:

    No :’( Wish it did!
I was doing it by my lonesome so dont know if it worked on anyone else..
My arm had a little stabbing pain in the top but i dont think it was anything as it wasnt touching part of a chair.. Hmm :( x

  227. Stuart says:

Didnt stick, but it was weird…. my legs felt like they were stiff… almost like they were submerged in a goo or something. And my arms felt heavy. The weirdest thing was my heart started racing and my chest felt really tight.
It subsided after about 10seconds and I was able to slowly stand up.
    (@stuarthicks on twitter)

  228. No didn’t work on me. i was aware of language used before the 1 min film.Words such as “absorb”, “Stick” and of course “Stuck”. The use also of the guy selecting the green chair, putting the idea of chairs and seats in people’s minds. Also image flashes a few times of an illustration of a man tied with rope to a chair. The image was about 6 frames so technically not a subliminal image which is usual 1 or 2 frames.

  229. Angus Wilson says:

I wasn’t stuck and neither were my family or friends.
That’s 2 16-17 year old males, and 1 60 year old male, and a 50 year old woman.
    Absoloutely nothing

  230. Ruthie M says:

That was possibly the weirdest thing ever. At first I thought it hadn’t worked, my legs felt heavier, but my arms and back were fine, and so I tried to stand. I got about half way up and my legs shook so much, I had to sit down again. And when I tried to stand again, the same thing happened, it was like a force was pulling me back down to where I was sat. I tried this several times, but I just could not stand straight without falling back down to my seat.
    Well done, that was amazing.

  231. Katrina says:

noooo it didnt work :( But I did feel a little like I was sinking into my chair, but I still managed to get up again which I think was because everyone in the room was distracting me :( It was an excellent show though :D

  232. Smidge says:

Didn’t work. I’m absolutely gutted. I’m 4′10″ and my feet don’t touch the floor when I’m sat down…. you think that’s why??

  233. April says:

I felt so weird watching the film, my head was spining and my whole body felt heavy. when the film finshed i felt like i was completely stuck to the chair and i couldn’t move. It didn’t last that long tho which was weird. I watched it with my parents it didn’t work on them. Also as soon as they got up started walking around and saying it didn’t work all the feeling came back to my legs and I could get up. I still felt dizzy and my like something was attracting me to the chair even though i could get up ok, I really didn’t want to?

  234. Lisa says:

I didn’t get stuck… when the film was played I felt quite odd
But before the film I felt my feet really stuck to the floor… I would like to find someone who was really stuck…
hmmm maybe next week will be better??

  235. Jamil says:

My legs felt somewhat fuzzy after the video played. However, I did manage to stand up, albeit very slowly.

  236. Alice says:

Not stuck at all! Well disappointed :( I really wanted it to work! Our tele is crap and fizzly though, that probably made a difference…
    XD nice try though Derren!

  237. helenzass says:

AHAH YES! arms hurt from trying to pull myself up, i am so fucking susceptible hahaha brilliance derren :’)

  238. steve says:

    Didn’t work disappointed.

  239. jo says:

Wasn’t concentrating on the lead up then my usual defense mechanism came on about 20 seconds in – bursting into hysterical laughter. Will try again later and pay attention next time…

  240. rach says:

yes it totally worked on me i couldnt move at all but it felt like i was being held around the stomache more than my legs

  241. Lewis says:

    Wasn’t stuck.
Feet to thighs felt like they were going numb, head felt like i was drunk (that groggy not yourself feeling)
Was able to get up though, bit wobbly for a few seconds though.

  242. Kath Hogarth says:

    I WAS STUCK
    well i wasnt ‘glued’
i got up a lil bit but had to lean over, i shuffled over to the bed and after a min or two i could stand up with perfect posture. I am watching it on repeat so it can happen again XD

  243. Jonny says:

Didn’t work although it gave me an almighty headache

  244. Lady Claire says:

Sorry forgot to say…..fantastic show!! :)

    LC x

  245. Socky says:

    No, gutted. :(

  246. emma says:

i was’nt stuck but my arms and legs felt heavy as if i was going to get pins and needles

  247. LB` says:

I didn’t get stuck either! But I honeslty felt really heavy and my hands were really tingley.

  248. t says:

i got pins and needles down my back then stood up and fell straight back down, but then i was fine.
my friends mum got totally stuck!

  249. Cameron says:

I felt myself entering a slightly hypnotic state when Derren was talking in the moments before the film. I know because I always get very giggly when that happens. But anyway, I wasn’t stuck. This might be something to do with my TV being old and rubbish, I’m not sure. The strange thing was, I stood up and felt fine apart from a slight feeling of disappointment. I sat back down again and while Derren was talking to callers I tried standing up again and moved around my room a little. The further I got away from my seat the more I could feel the energy in my lower body being sapped away. I almost fell over!

I saw the flashing images before the film too, cheeky!

  250. rachey says:

worked for like a few seconds felt weird tho

  251. fede says:

No didnt work for me nor my husband. I felt heavy during the flashes and the speech but didnt get stuck :-(

  252. Dave Hodgson says:

i was so stuck i couldnt even lift either of my hands off my lap then when it said lean forward on screen for first time i could gradually move

  253. Grant says:

Managed to get up but felt heavy across my chest. Ever since the first flash felt something. Good work derren. we love ya

  254. Paul says:

Wasn’t stuck to my seat, but my arms went quite heavy which was a starange feeling. and my heart was absolutley racing during it, which fraked me out a little bit. Great show thoug Derren! Hopefully it’ll work on me properly next week.

  255. daz says:

i got stuck for about 20 seconds. well done derren

  256. Dave Parker says:

Din’t work on me at all. Might be because my mum was there in the room and she didn’t believe it would work form the start. Might try it on Channel 4 + 1 on my own to see if it work,s

  257. James M says:

I was glued to my seat. My thighs and butt were really heavy and I could not pull myself up. It had no effect on my partner and daughter sat next to me though.

  258. Psycodelik says:

I got stuck! My legs felt dead heavy, and I couldn’t move my back! I tried to call in but I didn’t get through :(
I noticed lots of pictures flashing throughout the show of a man stuck to a chair, and there was a beeping sound every time it flashed on. Did anyone else notice this???

  259. Gheorghie says:

Nothing really but there was a weird sensation in my left hand?

  260. Liv says:

I didn’t get stuck but did feel odd, like someone was trying to tell me something… Saw a man in a chair flash up on screen??? Interesting stuff!

  261. Thomas chester says:

Shame about that event. Hopefully the next one will have better results. I think my expectations were way too high for the sticky seat.

  262. sarah hurley-lowe says:

that was really amazing, my husband did not get stuck but i did, i could only get so far before there felt like there was a weight in my bum pulling me down. Darren Brown is FANTASTIC!! would be great to have more things like this. THanks

  263. matthew says:

Never Stuck but I felt tierd my eyes rolled and felt sick went dizzy am fine now though weirdness

  264. Vikx says:

Oh yes stuck to my chair!!!

My legs from the knees down were like lead and i couldn’t move my toes, they didn’t feel anything at all (they are normally like ice) everything was just solid. all the way until the video telling us to stand up…just awesome!!!

    Vikx

@Vikx993 on twitter (the one with the panda tattoo) haha

  265. phil miles says:

Great show!, didn’t get stuck but my legs felt really heavy as if i’d done an hour or two heavy kicking training – still slightly tense now :o )

lovely relaxed feeling too though – thanks1

  266. Emma S says:

No effect. Not a sausage. Gutted.

  267. gabundy says:

    not worked on me sorry.

  268. NoNeer says:

Everything happened. Did it. Dit dit

  269. Paula says:

Didn’t get stuck, but became very hot and heavy during your preamble and whilst watching the film Daughter was heaving breathing and very hot and panicky as well. odd!!!

  270. Luke Pietnik says:

I found it difficult to stand, but managed it. I waked across the floor and nearly fell over. My Nanan tried getting up and fell back onto the settee.

  271. rach says:

and what was that flashing image of someone tied to a chair??

  272. Rubber Sled says:

I didn’t get stuck to my seat … but I’ve got an overwhelming desire to become a top hairdresser. It’s scary. All I can think about now is hairdressing. Derren please help!

  273. Eleanor McBurney says:

You will only by stuck if you have convinced yourself that you will be – that’s how it works – it’s not a special power and nothing to do with intelligence.

Enjoyed the rest of the show.

    xx

  274. Kizza says:

    I didn’t get stuck :(
    Im well disappointed.
My legs felt heavy when i stood up but that’s about it.

  275. Helium says:

Aww it didn’t work on me >< I blame my legs being too short to be completely flat on the floor though :P (or, y'know, maybe I should just get a shorter chair…)

  276. Scotty says:

Nope nothing. Gutted tbh. Was there shouting voices playing behind the spinning lines or was that outside my house????

  277. Liss says:

I did get stuck and I left a biscuit out of reach as I honestly didn’t think it would work but wanted to try anyway, this turned out to be a bad idea as my dog found his oppertunity and ate the biscuit leaving me to watch, I feel he was rather amused I however am not so impressed. His walk tomorrow will be shortened considerably…

  278. Emma says:

I Could Move My Back And I Could Raise Myself Off The Chair But My Legs And Arms Were Shaking So Much That I’d Fall Straight Back Down Again.

I Was Stuck For About a Minute But I Still Have Pins && Needles In My Legs!! Haha

  279. Heather Clarke says:

I didn’t get stuck to my chair however when the clip was being played I started laughing uncontrollably and it was almost like nervous laughter and my eyes started to water. I also noticed that although I didn’t get stuck to my chair, it was a lot easier getting up after the blue clip was played. Brilliant stuff Derren :)

  280. I didn’t think it was going to work on me, but it did. I was stuck there until the clearing tone.

  281. Ghosts says:

Nope didn’t work on me or anyone with me.

  282. Natalie says:

I was totally stuck. Maybe took a risk doing this, I’m epileptic, but it was great fun. My eyes were rolling back uncontrollably about 20 seconds into the video and I struggled to keep my head up. Luckily I was alone so I didn’t scare anyone!
It took me several minutes to be able to put any kind of weight on my legs and I wasn’t able to stand up completely straight until the clearing noise was over.
REALLY great Derren, really great, thank you.

  283. Kyri says:

Worked for me, felt fused to the leather in my couch!

  284. Elise says:

Wasn’t as “stuck” as the people on screen who were participating, or those who phoned in…I could move my legs from the knees down, and could remove my back from the sofa I was leaning on…could generally move around in my seat a fair bit, but as for the “nether regions” ( ;) ) and the very very top of my legs, it felt as though I had been drilled to the seat.
Felt heavy when trying to get up after the clearing tone but all was fine after 10 secs or so.
Thanks for the show tonight – was great!
Have a good weekend at Brown Towers, Derren and crew!

    Elise x

  285. Matt says:

Sorry, 2 people here not stuck.

  286. Matthew says:

    Yes, it worked on me.

Couldnt move my arms or legs never mind stand up!

  287. Sarah-L-B says:

I was stuck! From the base of my spine to the very tip of my toes…
It felt like they were locked…like they weighed really heavily and I couldn’t lift my feet off the ground o_O
My back was fine, I could lean forward in my chair but couldn’t stand up at all.
    Amazing!
Felt really great to actually be able to take part, rather than simply watching other people have all the fun ;)
    Thank you Derren! xx

  288. James says:

It was weird… I noticed all the shadows and flashing pictures and stuff, and I had this really weird feeling in the pit of my gut, but all that happened was my legs felt like I’d been doing crunches or something for ages – I’ve always thought I was a bit resistant. But my flatmate got stuck solid – He’s only just managed to get up now, and he finds it really funny.

  289. timbo995 says:

It didn’t work on me. I never expected it would do.

  290. Michaela Agapiou says:

wasn’t stuck but leg muscles started twitching :S???
the guy who gave derren his shoes cracked me up :D :D:D

  291. Dippynikki says:

Derren how you did that I don’t know, but I have only just this minute came unstuck from my sofa whilst my boyfriend, who wasn’t effected, mocked me. It felt like my back locked up, my shoulders where pinned. I’m a little hot and bothered at the moment, mildly freaked out but greatful for the experience. But is their any reason why my head is twinging?

  292. Gary Price says:

i kinda got like pins and needles up my legs and couldn’t move from my knees to my elbow.
damn that was a strange expericence :P THANK YOU!

  293. Nigel says:

Sorry didn’t work at all although like a few others I did see the odd flash of someone tied to a chair in balck and white, it looked a bit like someone from the middle ages possibly with a hat on the flashes were too quick to be really sure. So all round this was a huge let down

  294. Margaret J says:

Well, it didn’t work on me but my dad was next to me and after it was over I tried speaking to him but he was too transfixed to the screen and he didn’t respond to me. I’m a little freaked out!!!

  295. Maciek says:

That was so weird…my legs just wouldnt go anywhere :S very bizarre…
ps. kathleen – hows the weather in canada? going there in 2weeks :D cant wait :D

  296. Ross says:

I was stuck – only for the actual film but pretty damn stuck – it was really wierd – i couldn’t even blink.

I was smiling deliriously and laughing, Amazing Derren

  297. Coralie says:

I took longer as usual to get up. In the middle of the film, my hands felt very heavy. It was quite comfortable though… Wish I was stuck to my sofa. Derren you’re a genius.

  298. Matt says:

Not stuck but thoroughly entertained thank you

  299. fester112 says:

Didn’t work but i did see 3 flashing images of a man tied to a chair with rope round his waste & feet :) And you said there were no sublimimal images? lol

  300. Hanna says:

My shoulders tingled… But thats about it :(

  301. Helen says:

got about halfway to my feet before being pushed back down again, it felt like being strapped into a fairground ride with the safety bar across my lap! cheers derren for freaking me out in such an absolutely charming manner xx

  302. John says:

    Didn’t work for me…

  303. Katie says:

I didn’t get stuck, but my legs felt rather heavy afterwards.
During it I was laughing uncontrollably though?

  304. Tash says:

was really strange. Felt like one of those suction rides at the fair. When i tried to get up felt like the cushion of the sofa was lifting up with my leg. To begin with it felt like i was the sofa. Very strange. The lady in the win loose thing at the beginning nicky aka nicola is my daughters speech therapist. Small world or what! :-D

  305. PinkyBlush says:

I was totally stuck to my sofa for the duration of the phone in.

Not my back, but my bum and my legs were welded there. I wasn’t panicy, just found the whole thing hilarious, and wished I hadn’t been home alone so someone could have laughed at it with me! Just so odd! Thanks!

Wonder if it works if you recorded it on V+/SKY+? I will test it on my other half later when he gets home!

  306. Graham Triggs says:

    No, not stuck.

Then again, I saw the images flashed through the programme – Eddie, afaik, it was someone bound to a chair.

Oh, I also saw the giraffe miming thing, although didn’t really get what it was (just noted it as odd).

Guess I’ve mastered the art of Awareness Without Perception.

  307. Oooh very weird – wasn;t 100% stuck like the people in the studio, but felt SO heavy, like when you’ve been in the bath for quite a while and you want to get out. Legs felt very weak, bum was hot and felt 5 times heavier than normal (and it’s pretty heavy to begin with!).

I’m quite a logical guy, and without thinking rationalised to myself that of course I can stand, and that made it much easier… legs got strength back and (with a bit of help from my arms) I stood up. As I left the sofa, it got much easier.

Didn’t feel like anything else was stuck though… arms were fine. Didn’t really feel “glued”… but was rather odd. It really was like I was getting out of the bath!!

Anyone else have the “getting out of the bath” feeling?

  308. Louisel says:

My legs were totally stuck and felt really heavy, but after a minute or so my arms came back to normal.
I was with two mates, one was totally stuck and the other was prancing around and laughing at us :)

  309. Faye says:

Worked on me. My legs just wouldn’t move. I had pins and needles in my feet and it wore off during the credits. Was so strange. LOVED IT!! X]

  310. I am amazed, i am a doubting thomas put i really was stick to my chair, i couldnt move from the head down, everytime i tried to move i got a heavier sensation, i just kept laughing as couldnt believe it had worked, the man is a genius.
    x

  311. helen says:

I did not stick to my sofa, sorry about that, feel very relaxed though.

  312. Josh says:

I appear to be stood on the ceiling. That’s odd. Is that normal?

  313. David Mitchell says:

Worked stuck, never believed it would work but was open to it, trying to get up and got all sweaty

  314. lindsay says:

Nope i didnt get stuck! :(
aside from the fact i had an injection this morning and my arm is dead anyway lol
im gonna try again on channel 4+1 without the lights on cos thats what the group of people down with you!
    :D

  315. 80s Craig says:

I didn’t get stuck, but I did get tingly feet.

You’re making some of THE most watchable TV in years. A huge thank you!

  316. Rebecca says:

I got stuck very funny never thought my bum could be so heavy xx lovely work derren

  317. I was stuck! I really was. I definitely made the decision to let it work, but didn’t think it would, if you get my drift. I think I was only stuck because I wanted to be, but the feeling was still real. limbs still feel really heavy and feel ultra relaxed, it’s a great feeling, actually.
    more wine required now…

  318. Liamme says:

Didn’t really work on anyone in my house. I felt compelled to giggle partway through though, which probably distracted the rest of the family.

Felt a little ‘reluctant’ to move after the video was done, but that was about it. Disappointed…

  319. Francesca says:

It didn’t stick me, but I didn’t feel like trying until the calls started coming in. I’m going to try it again on +1, but I doubt it’ll work now because I know what to expect?

I saw the flashed up images. And my heartbeat went quite fast and didn’t slow down until a minute or two ago, which was weird. :-/

  320. HelenD says:

I felt heavy for a couple of seconds but that was it. interesting show though, thoroughly enjoyed it. looking forward to the next Event.

    x

  321. Zoeyy says:

    I stood up! :(
But my hands were shaking and my back and legs felt very heavy, as if they WOULD become stuck. I’ll try again on 4 +1
    I still love you, loads.

  322. Sarah says:

Yep worked on me – really weird, like the tops of my legs were ton weights and I wasn’t strong enough to move them to get up! Managed to unstick myself after a few mins – before the ‘blue screen of calmness!’ Found it hilarious – as did my hubby (didn’t work on him but he only came down half way through the programme – maybe you had to watch it all?). He reckons he’ll be able to ’suggest’ things to me now! Great show looking forward to next week! xxx

  323. Jess xxx says:

Wow, Derren, you’re not having much luck. My thighs felt really heavy, but I could still get up at the end of the film (Although, my sister was giggling in the corner, so that could have distracted me.)

Sorry. Still love you, though x

  324. allan ross says:

i wasnt got up normally but my legs hurt and they feel weird. my fiancee was totally stuck and her legs feel weird too

  325. Alex says:

As normal, didn’t work on me, I find this kind of thing amazing and think he does know how most minds work, and there is something to these things, but they never work on me,

    I wonder why?

I would like to try one of his shows live and see what happens then,

  326. Gideon says:

I was not stuck to my seat but I shall note a few differences in my surroundings as it was stated that the conditions in the room was perfect:

    -I have my laptop on
-I have a lot of loose stuff around my room from pots of glue, models, wires and sheets of paper etc unlike those in the experiments shown on the tv.
    -My room is rather small
-A clock was ticking and my laptop fans were working (not over-working)
    - I had a small televison

So no the video did not paralyse me although my hypothesis is that because of my largely different environment this was the case.

  327. Bill says:

Quite honestly I was stuck! OK I was sat on my seat watching and the following things happened… The “Lines” at the point of spining drew me in and got me focused. At the point towards the end of the spining lines I felt quite heavy a bit of an odd experience.

At the point of trying to stand up I was able to get a little of my chair but I could NOT straighten my legs to stand up fully really odd! My knees were stuck and my leg felt like I had hiked 10 miles none stop.

I am a bit speechless was a great eperiment!!! BTW I studied PWA as part of Psychology degree and wasn’t expecting it to work at all!

Well it did for me and I am made up!

  328. lisa says:

Legs went all numb about half way through, but when it had finished I could move them, and my arms. I thought it hadn’t worked. Then when I tried to stand up, I couldn’t! My legs were soooo heavy. I just couldn’t do it. They’re still a bit wobbly now. That was brilliant!!

  329. AlanC says:

Wasn’t stuck but still feel sluggish and heavy, going to sky+ the plus1 show and watch it later when everyone is in bed and see if it works then

  330. chris says:

i dont think the modern mind can switch onto this as there are far too many distractions both visually and mentally….i hate to say it coz i love the guy and think he is fab…but this has knocked him down a couple of levels….he may argue that i not responsive….everyone is a winner eh?

  331. JobyJak says:

Wasnt the whole experiment flawed in that we were all aware of what was going on?

  332. Beth Gray says:

i was dissapointed that me, my mum, and all of my mates wern\’t afected at all =[ however, my pet cockatiel has a habit of watching the tv with us, and he tends to pace alot, however he did not move after the clip until that blue screen thingy was shown. may have just been a coincidence but it was quite interesting!

  333. Tim Doble says:

    Sort of worked.
I mean, I could stand up
But my legs were bent and I was hunched over…
    Creepy stuff.

  334. Aliquant says:

    So how’d you do it?

  335. Lisa Donnelly says:

I got stuck but my boyfriend didn’t. He thought it was hilarious coz the harder I tried to get up, the heavier i felt. Lasted for a couple of minutes soooooo weird.

  336. looFeR says:

I didn’t want to be stuck…so I wasn’t. Although I was a little queasy just before you showed the video. Maybe if I’d been in a darkened room…

  337. Amazing, I am a doubting thomas but it worked, i couldnt move from the head down, everytime i tried to get up i felt a heavier sensation, i just laughed it was so weird

  338. Ash Donson says:

Neither I nor my girlfriend got stuck but I may have spoiled it by laughing during the vid because of the absurdity… Derren really DID control the nation – he got them to sit in a certain way and watch a weird video.

  339. Neel says:

Not stuck to sofa anymore than usual for a Friday evening – is it cause I’m Danish and blonde? ;)

  340. Tom Jordan says:

I couldn’t even turn my head or open my mouth. Could only blink. Even when I went to sneeze I simply ended up with a watering eye and no sneeze. When somebody asked me if I was stuck I could only blink at them and continue my frozen, inane smile.

  341. Silvi says:

YES and my legs feel funny :S

  342. Taramichelle says:

my god how totally weird this was — though i felt really relaxed i moved my back away from back of sofa but i couldnt move my legs i could eventually get up but it was a really strange experience never felt anything like it and i got a shudder down my spine shortly afterwards

my sister took part and she lives 12miles from me and she told me this on MSN
lynz says: my bum wasnt stuck so i thought it dint work but then i couldnt move my legs its horrid lost me legs lol
lynz says: it was my legs and couldnt get me feet off the ground, i honestly dint think it had worked but got panicky when i couldnt move legs to get up lol weird well relaxed tho lol
lynz says: daft thing was i was listening to him saying stuck & stick 5 trillion times n laughing thinking hes using words to mind boggle

  343. Thomas chester says:

It looks like its effected alot of ppl though. Either way, Derren is an absolute legend.

  344. Cheap says:

    didn’t work, yawn

  345. gallantm says:

You made me feel physically sick; not quite stuck but a very heavy feeling came over me. Awesome (can feeling physically sick be awesome?)

Also, before you played the music to the guy who picked the chair, pens and numbers I had a strong sense it was me… Not sure how but as you asked him to pick I said outloud what I would pick – and was right.

Crazy! I love it so much but it scares me a lot too.

  346. Vixx says:

OMG yes! elbows got stuck to the chair! I couldn’t feel my feet and hysterially laughed all through the white liney video.. strange!

  347. Alice says:

    errrm…Derren…my friend’s daughter’s still stuck!

  348. James Taylor says:

Nothing happened at all, was able to stand up normally. Really wanted it to work as well.

  349. Kelly says:

I didnt stick however my boyfriend is STILL stuck.. he is unable to move anything at all.. its pretty worrying its like 10.11pm shit..

  350. Helium says:

Awww it didn\’t work on me ><. I guess maybe I could blame my lack of leg length though, sadly too short to get my feet completely flat on the floor :P (Or, you know, maybe I could just get a shorter chair….)

  351. Clare says:

Not stuck at all neither is my dad but my dog wined a bit when the film was on must have just been the sound

  352. Ket says:

Didn’t work for me, nor the two others I was with, felt a little heavy though

  353. Josh says:

    No Didnt work on me!

  354. jordan says:

hi, im 13, it didnt stick me to the chair but when i stand up i whant to bend my knees and it fells like im deliberatly doing it.

  355. Dawn Moore says:

Nope! Nothin at all! :( x

  356. James Freeman says:

My feet were messed up, I could stand but I could barley lift them to walk.

I was sitting on the edge of my bed though so it doesn’t really count.

  357. vanessa says:

    No, didnt work :-(
    Very disappointed….

  358. Paul says:

No nothing happened to me, but great show!

  359. Ben says:

It didn’t work with me or my mum. Oh well, never mind, enjoyed the show very much so though. :-)

  360. Alice says:

Unfortunately, we are taking full advantage of this by covering her in bread rolls and fag buts …

  361. Sophie says:

It didn’t work on me :(
I don’t think I was letting myself absorb it properly though.. my mum kept staring at me and it was really distracting. :P
I would love to see the repeat and try again! Though there’s probably no chance of me getting the TV to myself. :)

  362. Lizzy says:

Whilst watching I became aware of a mist/haze everywhere, except for around the television that seemed brighter than usual. My hands tingled, and despite feeling very sluggish I managed to stand up. Feel a tad odd now though……

  363. Kirsten says:

I really, really wanted it to work. I followed the instructions, did the breathing etc, but when the film came on all I could think about was how much it was like listening to ambient music (maybe Aphex Twin?) on our xbmc with the visualisations turned on. It was very pleasant. I was waiting for it to do something interesting but then it was over and I stood up without difficulty. Am rather disappointed :/

  364. Bubs says:

Didn’t work I’m afraid. Shame – we were all hoping it would

  365. Rachel Kosminsky says:

Completely unaffected. I sort of half wanted to be though. Goes a way to proving that I can’t be influenced by these things like I suspected. Next up – can I be hypnotised?

  366. Gemma Jones says:

WOW! I genuinely just got stuck, lower body felt very heavy and although I tried to stand up several times the feeling just got stronger. Worked for about a minute then wore off.

    FANTASTIC!!

  367. Peter Davies says:

Worked for me for the duration. I really tried but my whole body felt so heavy. Couldnt even pick up the phone to call the show. Amazing!

  368. Vikky says:

I didn’t get stuck at all. I noticed the whole way through the show the flashing images though, so maybe because I noticed it didn’t work? So disappointed :(

Going to try again with the repeat, on a different chair.

  369. Alice says:

yep…you got my friend tash as well…her boyfiend Phil’s just texted…and is absolutely delighted!!!

  370. David Clarke says:

    Nah.

  371. Link says:

for me it worked, numbess in my legs,a weight on my stomach and arm’s..i noticed when the ad breaks came on,the girl on the sofa to the left had a black band over her stomach…

  372. Dee chettle says:

hubby tried it, no joy =(

  373. Laura says:

I didn’t get stuck but felt really heavy, and I cried and felt really upset. That bit puzzled me, I know it happened to a girl in the screen test but it was weird. Still, another great show Derren, I think I really do love you, x

  374. spannerdog says:

Wow i`m still stuck in my chair and can`t stand up..I don`t know if it`s down to Darren or my big fat ass and 8 cans of Stella wife basher…..God i need a peeeeee

  375. Sarah-L-B says:

ps. I was able to stand when the “stay calm…” etc messages began to appear, it just seemed to melt away. Before then I was totally stuck. Loved every second.

  376. Emma Hammond says:

I was stuck on my sofa after the film fisnished, couldn’t mover my hands off of my legs and when i tried to lift my legs they felt like they were cemented to the ground. This only lasted for about 10 secs after the film had finished though

  377. Samantha dawes says:

I didn’t get stuck I am gutted couldn’t stop giggling though maybe that had something to do with it, have recorded it though will try again when I can concentrate x

  378. Kirsty says:

My girlfriend and I didn’t get stuck :( we really wanted to. X

  379. Pete says:

Yes I stuck. really didn’t expect to. embarrassed at having to shot for my girlfriend to come from the other room to get me up as I was panicking a little. she refused to take part, wish she had now and she might understand I wasn’t making it up! it seemed to be my quad muscles that didn’t want to respond.

  380. Luke McCann says:

I don’t think it was the video itself that did anything, but more the thought that it might, people convinced themselves this video would stick them to their chairs, so it did (or didn’t). But maybe i’m wrong.

  381. Henry says:

    great program, Derren.

No I wasn’t stuck sorrysorrysorry. Did feel a small resistance getting up but not strong.

I always was a stubborn sort.

  382. Daniel says:

It Worked! i was stuck until the instructions came up i couldn’t move at all except my fingers it was amazing!

  383. Mr C says:

I didnt Derren, but loving the shows, great tv

  384. Laura says:

I was able to stand but had heavy legs and felt uncomfortable throughout the whole thing. My partner got stuck to the sofa completely, hands on legs too. Stayed there for quite a while…wierd! You’re a clever chap Mr Brown.

  385. Vivienne Jobes says:

through the film my heart was beating reeally loud and my leg kept twitching :S after the film i could move a little bit but my theighs and hands felt really heavy it but then it only lasted for a little bit it was weird but loved it!!!

  386. Emma says:

I didn’t stick, but got heavy and shaky. Will it work again if I rewatch it on TV? I only have a tiny screen!

  387. Alice says:

Toni (Simone’s daughter) can now move her hands…that’s it!!!!

  388. Damo says:

I didn’t stick to my chair but I did wet myself and forget my own name for ten minutes.

  389. Laura says:

I didn’t stick but when I tried to get up I felt a slight pressure against my chest, as though a large, soft pad was being pressed against me. Then for a few minutes afterwards my left arm felt really heavy and stiff! Don’t know why just the left one!

  390. melissa cottrell says:

no did not work for me, had hoped it would, respect to you derren!!!

  391. Andrew says:

I Was Stuck in my chair and my back was stuck my hands and arms were stuck on my lap and i couldnt move them

  392. Daniel Steele says:

I was momentarily stuck (for like 5 seconds). im the kinda guy who really does not believe this stuff. However, before the final adverts and just before the video there were pictures flashing for like 1 or 2 frames every now and then, i managed to see the last one: it was a guy lying back in his chair with his head back.

Am i the only who saw this?

    If so… I’m awesome

    Don’t skip this post!

  393. Rob says:

Didn’t work on me. I did see two flashing images of what seemed to be a man fighting to get out his chair, bound by rope round his waste in black and White.

  394. Joe Staley says:

Nah I didn;t get stuck at all, felt sick though… I did notice quite a few subliminal pop ups of a guy tied to his chair with rope during the show which is what I think affected people and not the actual film, I reckon the actual film was a misdirection from what’s actually happening.

Bit gutted… I did Sky+ it though so I think I’ll try it again when I have some mates over :)

  395. alex says:

didn’t work but got it on sky+ :)

  396. Gareth says:

Worked for me but for only 10-15 seconds as got really freaked out and heart started to race! only worked on my bum – its like my mind wouldnt let me get up! SOO wierd!

  397. Chris says:

I definatly felt something happening but about half way through I acidentally fought against it and….nothing happened. My own stupid fault lol. Really enjoyed the show though and can’t wait till next week.

For everyone saying they’re dissapointed, he did say that it wasn’t going to work on everyone.

  398. CJ says:

It didn’t work on me, but then I didn’t really expect it to. I suppose that’s why.

  399. Ciaran says:

I had a wierd pins and needles feeling on the bottom of my legs and I genuinely couldn’t stand up, but only for about 15 seconds then I sprung straight up! My muscles were twitching after for a little while too.

  400. Jamie Johnston says:

I did yes, and I couldn’t get up until after the release video. I was the only one affected in my house. Very weird indeed. Looking forward to seeing you in Milton Keynes next year. Thanks for a good night Derren. Twitter: @SArmyDragoth

  401. debs says:

i was totally stuck! my elbows felt glued to my sides, my forearms were stuck to my thighs and my ass was stuck to the chair….i could move everything else…i.e kicking and whacking my husband (who wasnt stuck) as he tried to tickle me. grr

felt like i had a boulder on me pinning my arms and legs.

  402. juliab says:

    Unfortunately it didn’t work for me although it might have something to do with;
    1. It wasn’t a dark room.
    2. I wasn’t facing the tv face on.
    3. I have the most annoying mum in the world, who decided to scratch under her leg cast with a knitting needle throughout the whole film, thus completely distracting me.

  403. Rebecca says:

    Hello,
Yeah… it did work for me for a few minutes just in my arms though

I very much let it go through me

    Cannot wait for next week!!!

    Thankyou for a weird experience!!!

  404. Gaynor says:

Really wasn’t expecting it to work, and my cat kept butting my hand, so I thought the distraction would mean it wouldn’t work, but, yeah. Could move my arms and back, but when I tried to get up it wasn’t happening. I was giggling my head off. Really cool techniques there. Were the flashes through the show of someone tied with rope to a chair?

  405. Nope Sorry says:

No, didn’t work for me unfortunately. Was really looking forward to being stuck as well :( I did get quite apprehensive though before the clip, and couldn’t stop laughing. hehe x

  406. jamie irvine says:

Didnt work at all on me. I could get up fine and felt fine after. Was expecting it to work cos im pretty tired but nope nothing.

  407. MattB says:

Didn’t work for me – but then I guess the really important bit was the suggestion before the film, and I was quite distracted during that bit.

  408. zachismagic says:

DIDN’T QUITE WORK SORRY BUT I DID WANT IT TO AND MY HEAD WAS A BIT HEAVY AFTERWARDS SO YAY

  409. Adele says:

    Absolutely brilliant!
was stuck fast, legs felt like lead, bum felt numb, could not get up at all! felt overwhelming need to burst out laffing too.

  410. Jorge Marin says:

Well, i wasnt stuck but my legs felt really tired and heavy- just about got up… and my heart was racing during it- felt so weird!

  411. Andrew says:

also i forgot to mention watching the film made me laugh out of control till about half way in

  412. Samantha Jones says:

Yep, worked for me! My legs were really heavy, couldn’t get up off the sofa at all!!!! Freaky stuff!!! My muscles in my legs are quite stiff now, feels as if ive walked miles!!! Strange! :-)

  413. Emma Sweet says:

OMFG…. yes I was totally stuck……. felt numb from the waist down and just could not move for about 5 minutes!! The programme ended and I was still stuck!! I had to literally slide myself off of my sofa to get off!! My legs are still feeling very very weird!!! Plus my heart was racing before the advert break also and got worse when Derren started talking after the break!!! Feel really Weird! It didn’t affect my partner though!!

  414. Angharad says:

Yes, it felt like someone was sitting on me :/

  415. Emily says:

    YES!
all i could feel was the palms of my hands everywhere else felt numb.
then my mum stood up saying ‘load of crap’
    and i lost it…

  416. kerry says:

It didnt work for me didnt get stuck gutted but my back did feel heavy and ached lol which was really weird i kept laughing through the video though

  417. Nikki Edwards says:

I got really heavy. I stood up ok but felt weird. I kept getting giggles while the film was on and don’t know what I was giggling for?!?! My pal Steph though, my god she was stuck. She asked me to pull her up but she was a total dead weight. She didn’t get up until the very end when told to. The coloured screens made me feel lighter again. Derren, you are a creepy, creepy little man…………but I love you xoxo

  418. Dmaco says:

THAT DEBS WAS ME….USED OLD LINK TO HERE, DOH!

  419. Gareth Walsh says:

That was well weird. I got stuck as well & when I tried to get up, it felt like my legs were dead heavy & felt like I was being push back into the chair

  420. Marc says:

Music in the video was relaxing but that was it…nice try though :)

  421. Craig says:

    fucking load of bullshit

  422. Hannah says:

I had to rewind it, first time i coudnt stop laughing, secodn time i went really tired and sluggish, i could get up but i felt really heavy!

  423. Hannah says:

my brother & i were both stuck for a few minutes – i got really hot and scared. It felt like i had something really heavy pushing my chest to the sofa and he said he felt like the sofa was pulling him like a magnet!

  424. Lottie says:

Yes,i couldn’t move my back, bum or thighs because they felt so heavy and everytime i tried i felt like a really strong elastic was pulling me back. Thanks, that was fun x

  425. Lisa says:

Weirdest feeling ever! My heart started to race during the film, once finished I couldn’t move my feet and my hands and forearms were stuck to my legs! My back was free, but everything else was stuck! Frustrating, weird, bizarre!

  426. JoJo says:

Felt dizzy and then got pins and needles in my legs, my legs then got really heavy and I couldn’t lift them.

  427. mattm says:

Not stuck. Back felt heavy at one point. Everytime I blink I now see a black drawn image of a person tied to a chair on. White background.

  428. Daniel Steele says:

also they kept on playing that music till the clear tone

  429. Jo Maycock says:

I didn’t get stuck but did anyone see the shadows during the video? I saw two in the shape of people, one bear floating with three balloons and one nuclear explosion… was this just me??? x

  430. Siobhán says:

Just got a series of texts from family I forced to watch (being sick of me going on about Derren!), seems like none got stuck… maybe its because we are Irish? Wrong nation??? :)

  431. Sam Not Spam says:

My daughter (age 11) could only just stand up and then kept falling back down again, she said her thighs really hurt (started while watching the film). It took her a few minutes to calm down afterwards, she’s fine now! Me and hubs remained fully mobile, albeit nicely relaxed!

  432. Jamie says:

Saldly nope i really wanted to though, however i got the feeling like I had when i was a kid and i used to persuade myself I couldn’t move but then i would snap out thinking “of corse i can move” and just stand up.

  433. Charlotte Shearer says:

You glued my shoulders to the sofa….and now i feel a little sickly and dizzy :-)

  434. Luce says:

heyy! yeah I was stuck, but only from my knees to my feet. I could stand up but I couldn’t walk anywhere – I was literally glued to the spot. Felt like I had magnets in my feet, and I was fastned to the floor. When you said I could move again at the end I got pins and needles before I could get up. Loooove you Derren. You scare me. lol. x

  435. ferrari filly says:

No, I didn’t get stuck. I started to feel a bit heavy but then my son breezed into the room and distracted me.
    Bit disappointed. Oh well.

I did think of giraffe though.

  436. Sophie says:

I felt really heavy and it took me a while to get up but thats all. I got the giggles though so that might have affected it!

  437. Lee Belcher says:

I felt strange from the start and whilst watching it felt like someone was pushing on my chest a few times making me be pushed back into chair more. I couldn’t move my hands and they felt a little cool when I could move them, My lower back and bum felt solid and very heavy. Very strange feeling and was very suprised I was affected. My wife wasn’t affected in any way.
    Thanks
    Lee

  438. Dmaco says:

oh and i was stuck right till half way through the blue screen tone thingy.

  439. matty says:

not really my legs went dodgey and my back was heavy but i could get up

  440. Rachie says:

I fell asleep as soon as the film began ?!?! Pretty sure that wasn’t supposed to happen. Oh well, i am sick and tired, will have to watch the repeat i guess

  441. i didnt acctually stick but i did feel dizzy and when i stod up i felt like i wanted to sit down because of the force but i am going to watch it on channel 4 +1 to see if i acctualy stick

  442. imo says:

    didn’t get stuck
    damn…

  443. sandra from ireland says:

I felt heavy in the chair but i got up ok but then i dropped to my knees and was stuck to the floor i couldn’t get up but i could slide around the floor.. i wasn’t afraid tho i knew i wasn’t paralysed as i could feel my legs under me.. weird !! my sons thought it was very funny they watched as well but weren’t affected

  444. Jay says:

Didn’t work on me but none of the PWA or subliminal stuff does because for some reason my sub concious works againts me and actually seems to point it all out in my mind, saw the subliminal flashes throughout the show though…kinda thought they looked like someone sat in a chair. However i would also like to state i got rather distracted by the fact that Hamleys Toy Store has a GIANT Wall-e and he kept popping up in my mind through your show…..see really you wanted us all to think of Wall-e didn’t you.
I will say though, my best mate rang me after the video showed in a panic because she couldn’t get up…and this is coming from a woman who said with quite a statement that she don’t believe in what you do…well she sure does now…she was stuck like superglue so i just laughed.

  445. Henry says:

Didn’t work for me. Maybe that’s a good thing because it implies that I’m not easily suggestible.

  446. Spencer B says:

Although I really desperately wanted it to work, it sadly didn’t for me, although I felt my feet getting heavier during the little speech at the beginning and during the film i started laughing xD

  447. Ashleigh Weir says:

It didn’t work on me, worked on my little brother though :)
I really wish I got stuck though, my friends recored it on her tv, would it work if we just watched it again and again and again ?
    :P xx

  448. Phil says:

No didn’t work on me but I did enjoy the programme.

  449. Grant says:

My hands were stuck to my knees! And my feet felt like they were fused to the floor. I was in hysterics all the way through the spinning lines for some reason and now my limbs feel sort of shakey and light. Totally weird! I really enjoyed that. Haha. Thinking about it’s still making me giggle :s

  450. Rudy says:

Didn’t work on me… I didn’t stand up from the moment the programme started, i tried to make myself as susceptible as possible, noticed flashes throughout the programme, couldn’t make out anything, going to give it another go in half an hour on C4+

  451. Stewie says:

Didn’t work for me :( shame. I was looking forward to losing partial control of my body.

  452. Jo says:

My brother called us to say he was stuck to his chair…thought he had gone mad until we realised what he had done! It was quite hilarious!

  453. donna says:

Half worked on me. Felt very very heavy and tingly especially in my legs. Weird experience, but i was able to stand up when i tried without any problem at all.

  454. Chris Minchin says:

The film made me laugh so hard i cried!!!

  455. Craig Dark says:

That was brilliant. Both my wife and I were fixed to the settee. My wife actually pulled a stomach muscle trying to get up. We weren’t freaked, just found it really funny. Recorded it and gonna try again later and with more people. Derren is a genius!

  456. Dan Handy says:

Yes, I laughed uncontrollably then was stuck fast for about 2 minutes. As soon as you said lean forward I could move.

  457. Alysha Siddiqui says:

Wasn’t stuck to my chair, but as I shot up to standing in an act of defiance, I accidentally tripped and fell on the floor. Obviously, this is my punishment for doubting you.

  458. Alysha says:

    i felt really shakey

  459. Aitch says:

It’s a negative from me and my housemate… can’t help but feel a bit disappointed. :(

Legs were heavy for a while – but think that was just me trying to convince myself. Chickened out of the live show version of this when people watched a film before walking up to the stage – so i’m just proud that I actually saw this one through to the end!

  460. Sarah says:

Did not work on me, I noticed the flickered pic before the film started, probably stupidly told someone across the room who hadn’t noticed it despite staring at the screen. I felt a slight pull in my thighs and lower back, but I felt relaxed. I got up slightly slower than normal, but it felt the same as if I stood up after a Yoga session. Didn’t work on my Mum either.

I have some friends in my mind who I think it would work on and some who I believe it wouldn’t, it would be interesting if I’m right.

    I’m kind of relieved actually….

  461. Sophie says:

I could get up, but only really slowly, I felt incredibly heavy and dead. I really couldn’t be bothered to get up, my limbs felt dead, but I did. However, once I managed to get up – I fell over! For me, that means it worked. Well done Derren!

  462. Emily says:

I felt really heavy through the film. I was able to get up but I found it really hard, it took a lot of energy and effort even when I’d sat down again and tried to get up for a second time. When he played the thing to release you it was suddenly easier to get up again! Weird!!!

  463. Rob Meadows says:

I got stuck but only with the back of my thighs. I could lift my feet off the floor and lean forward. I even tried to push up using my arms. Very, very strange sensation.

  464. Alan Smalan. says:

Hey Derren, well done. You have gained back a fan. THIS was a lot better show. It did not work for me, but it did for my daughter. She could not get up. She looked a little panicked so I helped her up. Then she couldnt sit back down again lol. She said it was because her knees felt locked and stiff, if it is any any interest to you :-)

It didnt work for me, but I now have a Jamaican accent… not really. But hey. It really was a world of difference from last week, and I enjoyed it immensely.

    Thank you!

  465. Decla says:

Worked on me for a minute or so. I’d always felt a bit smug about not being suggestible at all, so that really shot me up the arse!

  466. Amber says:

I though it would scare me somehow as i’m only 16, but it was really quite fun! As the film started, I just began focusing on the tv, but then was going dizzy. I could see this fuzzy, faint shape that looked like the head of a person from the neck up. My mum and I both did it next to each other, but it didn’t effect her, but the top of my legs and my head felt really heavy. I tried getting up, got half way and I felt something heavy so I had to sit down again. I tried a few times but couldn’t for about 10 seconds!
Really great show!! I have to see this kind of thing live!! Wish I had Channel 4+1 so I could try it again.
    Thanks Derren :)
    Amber

  467. Louisa says:

nothing at all! i really wanted to get stuck as well!

  468. Kim says:

didn’t work on me or my 10 year old brother.
wasn’t helped by him proclaiming halfway through the video that he needed to pee and hoped derren wouldn’t make him get stuck and pee on the sofa.

  469. Nikki Edwards says:

Was it the film that made me giggle or was it just me being daft??? twitter @nikkinoodle82

  470. sandra from ireland says:

just read dippynikki’s comment i’ve a bit of a headache too

  471. alistair says:

    Wow Derren, amazing show..

Me and my Dad both watched it and i felt really giddy and kept laughing before you played the film and during. He got straight up. My fingers were attatched to my knees for about 2 minutes, but my legs were attatched to the seat until you played the blue screen when i felt really giddy again. Very odd!!

    cant wait for next week!

  472. Lauren says:

it didnt work for me but my legs and arms felt really heavy. I found as the show went on i felt more and more tired like i had jet lag but now i feel fine! weird!

  473. Sarah says:

Not stuck at all :( Really wanted it to work

I do feel a bit nauseous and dizzy but all of those swirly line/optical illusion type things have that effect on me so I’m not sure if that’s entirely relevant.

  474. Lizzy says:

Derren, can you do a permanent aversion to high calorie foods for your next event please? Kthxbye.

  475. Laura says:

oh my god Eddie, I felt the exact same thing:

“Didn’t work for me however i did notice a few things:
A flash of a subliminal image (not sure what it was but was mainly white)
Before the last break all of a sudden it seemed that Derren’s face was coming out of the screen and all my focus was on him, it felt really weird
Other than that i can stand and walk fine”

I got a little weirded by that, then the video made me very uneasy. After maybe about 15-20 seconds, I felt this really strange sensation, like pressure in my head which was really unnerving and I think I must’ve fought it from there because I didn’t get stuck.

  476. Simon S says:

I was stuck to the chair like jesus to the cross! It worked for me. Amazing! (or it might have been too much wine)

  477. Jason says:

Unfortunately it didn’t work on me. I’m hoping by replaying it tomorrow from Sky+ and watching it again it’ll work when there’s fewer distractions. I really wanted it to work.

  478. Tom Page says:

Haha it worked for me i would get half way and i couldnt move my legs to get up really wierd and a saw the flashin images of white of the guy sitting in the chair i feel abit dizzy now after watching it

  479. Niamh says:

i reckon it works , but it didn’t for me :(

  480. Fiona says:

Didn’t work. looks like it didn’t work on a lot of people tbh.
although the phone rang when the film was on, and obv couldn’t get up to switch it off, it was halfway across the room.

  481. Brooke wilson says:

Omg I got stuck for about a Minuit and then when I could stand up my heart was racing so fast and my arms and legs were very shaky. I felt terrified! 10 mins later and my legs still feel shaky! DerreN brown is such a clever amazing guy!!!

  482. Ashleigh Weir says:

I didn’t get stuck :( , But my little brother did
I really wish I did thoughh D: My friends recorded it on her tv, would it work if we just watched it over and over again?
Derren Brown you are genius :P xx

  483. Lauren says:

no effect on me whatsoever. Maybe it was the whisky. I knew Derren shouldnt drink before he did it heeheh

  484. hosstin says:

didn’t work for me or my partner, althought I was disorientated and dizy. My brother says it made him feel hungry and unable to concentrate for a short while.

  485. Tom Hoggan says:

I was stuck before the adverts even came on, very strange, all suggestability but very well executed. Niiiiice Derren!

  486. Charlotte Calver says:

Yes! I was not stuck fast but was significantly heavy in lower body and felt slightly drunk. It just felt like far too much effort to get up. Weird!

  487. Emma says:

Yes, i was stuck, and it was terrifying but amazing at the same time.I couldn’t stop laughing. I really wanted it to work so I really focused and let it wash over me and it worked! it was like someone was sitting on my legs, or there was a hell of a lot of blu tac on the sofa. then when i was ‘realised’ i felt like i was going to float up to the celing! tempted to watch again…
    awesome show.

  488. James says:

Didnt get stuck but trying again closer to tv on +1

  489. mattm says:

Very clever though. Man tied to a chair flashing up, Derren nodding his head down while talking while saying “itl work on cool creative people”. Who doesn’t want to be cool!

  490. emma says:

I was excitedly surprised to find I felt really heavy, mainly in my thighs, stiff as if I’d done lots of exercise and it was hard to get up. felt pressed downwards, as if there was extra gravity! i forced myself to stand at one point but it felt wrong and wobbly so sat down again. strange how as soon as i saw the ‘clearing film’ I stood up, no stiffness, felt light. Wow, very clever, I’m glad something happened!

  491. Ryan says:

I was stuck for about 5 minutes, and it wasn’t very nice to be honest. It made my legs and lower back very heavy and almost numb, and once I was ‘released’ I still felt light headed. All in all, a very surreal experience, but I don’t expect people to believe me considering the amount of people that it didn’t work on.

  492. Danielle says:

i didn’t get stuck but i felt my legs going all weird when i was watching the clip still amazing though :)

  493. Jasmine says:

Had an insanely limp leg afterwards but I shook it off before the tone. Defo’ rewatching on chnl 4+1:D

  494. James Zeach says:

I wasn’t stuck to my couch, but it was harder than usual to get up, possibly due to distractions not giving my full focus to the TV but yeah.

    Very Nicely done Derren 5/5

    @JayZeach on Twitter

  495. Lauren McAteer says:

My sister got stuck to the sofa for awhile, she felt as if she was sinking into it. I felt different but not stuck. As i got up and walked to the computer to go on this blog i without realising typed ‘Doseley motor’s’ into google, i don’t remember typing it at all, until my friend pointed it out… freaky…

  496. Jackie says:

Yes! Got stuck for about a minute. My legs felt really heavy, like they were sunk into the sofa!

  497. Gem says:

Damn, didn’t work. And I took it ever so seriously. I’m going to fetch some pritt stick and get this done properly.

  498. nelson says:

nope. but i really wanted it to work.

  499. I was stuck in the sense i couldnt stand but i did push and pull my way off the seat but i just felt really heavy and fell back, my friend actually phoned me to check and i couldnt think straight

as soon as i said yes he made me swear i wasnt lieing and it just made it worse everytime i said “yes its true”

  500. Lisa says:

I really wanted to be, but unfortunately I have never been one for doing things that are suggested to me, if I do not see a logical reason. I was truly looking forward to it too!

Brilliant show Derren, even if it did not work on me, it seems you have control over half of the world already. I cannot wait until the next.

  501. ben says:

Not stuck for me. Did feel a little trippy during the screening….what if your house caught fire or some other tragedy struck whilst you were “stuck”?

I have been stuck to my sofa before however, in fact I actually became my sofa. This was after smoking Salvia Divinorum & was absolutely terrifying & awesome, in the true sense of the word, like birth & death is awesome.

  502. Barry says:

Noticed the subliminal skeleton guy on the chair and also the adverts implied sitting down and hypnotism. I did feel heavy and stuck but only for about a minute. I think the video was a red herring

  503. Ade says:

Did anyone notice the actual subliminal messages that kept coming up? It looked like illustrations of people tied in chairs or something!

  504. Alice says:

Fortunately, we have a hypnotist (Tom Brown) on hand….he’s got her top half working….but les still stuck…HEEEEEEEEEELP!!!!!!!

  505. Joe says:

Got stuck, felt very heavy and shaky – but also everything apart from the TV appeared to go very dark for a few seconds after the video – anyone else get this?

  506. jools says:

didn’t work, on me, or my man. there seems to have been a VERY low hit rate, way down within the level that doesn’t come anywhere near disproving the ‘total bullshit’ hypothesis. i’m very disappointed, i feel like mulder, wanting to believe.

    but i don’t.

  507. Greg Reid says:

Unfortunately it didnt work on me, i think i was too worried about it, i felt rather panicy just before the video. Pitty it didnt, i was expecting it to work seeing as one piece you did in your earlier shows where u made us fall back worked on me. ah well. do u think rewatching it and trying to stay calm could work?

  508. Mr N says:

How many times did Derren say, ‘You are amazing!’ with the subtext of ‘I am amazing!’
Derren needs a new catch phrase for after the magic moment. How about:
‘and that’s magic!’ or sing, ‘Ta – da!’
Derren needs to practice the trick where he magics up an Irish accent.

  509. Sarah says:

I was stuck until right at the end. It was really cool!

  510. Lorna says:

    nope!
really wanted to be though :/
i did get bad headache though and my hands felt really heavy.
the giraffe thing was really clever 8-|

  511. Debbie Davies says:

Totally glued from head to feet until Derren ‘released’ me – brillant, scary, awesome. Heart beat faster, tingles all over, now feel sick and shakey. FABULOUS!!!!!!!

  512. sally says:

    YES! it worked freaky man

  513. Lisa says:

i got stuck! mental! didnt think itd work but got pins n needles in my feet and one of my elbows got stuck!! my mum and sister were watching strictly but i have got them on ch4+1 now.

  514. ben says:

i was watching the show with my little brother and sister, my step brother and his girlfriend. i’ve been looking forward to the experience all week, really believing it would happen. when it came to after the adverts when you were giving your speech, i started to feel dizzy and excited at the same time. when the short film started i started getting a tunnel vision like experience, everything around the tv was black and faded, and i felt heavy.
When it was finished and people on the show started to get up, as too did the people with me, whilst i felt heavy and attempted to get up. I started to use my hands to help me, but it was a fair struggle as my arms started shaking, however sadly i managed to get back up…just with a few difficulties. i will watch it again on sky+ alone however :)

  515. Emily says:

I wasent stuck, but my right elbow was heavy as anything! and i couldent lift my feet, so i couldent walk

  516. ss says:

It is an old trick called the ‘heard mentality’ where the group of people behave because the others are behaving in that way. Others want to show that they are impacted as well and go about showing that they are really stuck

  517. Ren says:

I was stuck till the blue screen at the end! I felt like I had no energy and my legs and arms felt heavy – they’re aching a bit now! A fantastic experience and I’m still grinning and shaking my head in wonder. Genuis!

  518. Hannah says:

I got stuck to the chair! I can’t believe it. I Felt really weird when watching the video and then both my brothers got up no problem but I just couldn’t. It took me a long time to get up again too. Ever since then I’ve been really shaky. That was such a weird experience but thank you

  519. James says:

I did feel a bit heavy in my arms but i could stand

  520. I wanted it to work but it didn’t–really disappointed.

  521. Andrew says:

It didn’t work on me, my brother or my mum. Really disappointed.

  522. Rachel says:

I got stuck to my chair. Then I managed to walk to my computer but I can’t unbend my legs. My fingers are now slowly going dead and my back keeps tingling when I’m not leaning against the chair. When I’m sitting down it takes about a minute to get up. Well played, Derren. Well played.

  523. Karina Williams says:

Watched the show, cant believe I WAS stuck!! hubby saw it and it was amazing! I’ve seen derren live a few times and was always impressed with the show, this was more than a show! truley amazing.

  524. sam says:

i saw every flasing image in this and in the gathring those things just dont work on me

  525. menchi says:

I didn’t get stuck but halfway through the film my set top box glitched a bit and stuttered so thought that might have ruined it a bit? Kinda got a fight or flight feeling before that though. Gonna try again on 4+1 in hopes of no glitching!

  526. Red says:

I wasn’t stuck as such, but my legs were shaking and felt like they wouldn’t support me….took a few minutes for them to start working again.

Still a bit shakey now…but the ‘releasing sound’ thingy scared the hell out of me…so that could explain that :)

That was so bizarre but amazingly awesome

  527. Sarahlina says:

Yeah I was totally stuck, for a good few mins too. My back still hurts a little. But, even though I managed to get stuck, I still noticed the flashes of the picture of the person sitting down….. Good stuff tho, twas fun =]

  528. Andrew Spokes says:

Worked on me, My legs felt heavy while trying to stand but got heavier the more I tried, I didnt expect it to work but it was the wierdest feeling

  529. Chris T says:

    No. Soz Derren!

  530. Dawn says:

YES!!!! – I have to admit I didn’t think I would be – my heart started racing, then my arms felt heavy and tingly and at the end I couldn’t lift my backside off the couch – it felt like someone was sitting on me and caused pins and needles in my legs!!!!

  531. k says:

i felt funny. like my legs were going to sleep. but i stood up fine. didnt want to though. does that count?

the clip was freaky, made me feel weird. i dont believe the white screen was the cause of it though, i think it was what derren said before it.

  532. Joshua Snowball says:

It most definatley did not stick anyone to their chairs
And i could just see what was on the flashes, it was just people sitting down, this must only work on people who arent very intellegent.
Derren you were my hero, now your just a fail.
    xxxx

  533. Alan Wilkinson says:

Didn’t work. Am Gutted. Wonder if having laptop on and dividing attention between show and Internet buggered it. Did make point of watching the “special film” at full attention. Also caught a flash of picture of stuck person or two during show.

  534. Dan Greene says:

This is ridiculous! OMG! I couldn’t feel my legs, I actually ended up getting a load of people to kick my legs to try and get some sensation. It took forever and I need help to get up even after about 5 people kicking me loads. It is so scary and still feeling sick and worried.

  535. becca says:

didn’t get stuck but what about the giraffe name! how did he know she’d call him frank?!!!?

  536. Lyndsey says:

It didn’t work on me – I’m a bit disappointed. It did make my right leg tingle a bit like pins and needles though.
    Awesome show Derren

  537. Dean Baker says:

gutted…..Derren Brown has failed to produce the goods and I’ve seen the same thing done 20 years ago at the Bell Language School Cambridge, when I worked there, by a crap magician….didn’t work then either. Most of the work was done before the film was show by repeated use of stuck, chair and telling you how the more you try to get up the more stuck you would become…..the crap magician got peoples hands to stick together

  538. Cat Whittall says:

OMG what a strange sensation that was. I was able to stand for a second after the video but could feel myself being pulled back, once I sat back down I couldn’t move, my arms and legs were tingling and my bum felt very heavy……

You are a brillian intelligent man and I am so amazed at what you do.

  539. Cillean Campbell says:

Thanks to my work I missed the show, Thanks to my (*^&%”£ of a brother, I can’t watch your show on E4+1, will there be repeats anytime soon? I was looking forward to this one more than any of the other events… if anyone knows could you email me? thebeboone@hotmail.com, cheers.

  540. Gemma Turner says:

Oh My God i tried it twice and got completely stuck both times!

The first time it was just my bum adn legs (completely numb) and the second it was my whole lower body from the elbows down on my arms and from my waist down…it was quite a surreal experience! it was only when the blue screen came that i could move again. Now my head feels rather odd, kind of like a headache but less intense.

A similar thing happened to my sister…but the other one was very disappointed when it iddn’t work for her!

    Wow…jsut wow!!!!

    THANKYOU DERREN!!!!!!!!!!!!

  541. Gail says:

How weird I lost periferal vision. Saw the person tied to the chair, but unfortunately I didn’t stick to my chair. Pity I really wanted to. Maybe I wanted it too much!!!!

  542. Alex says:

    *me
I know it was about 100 comments ago but I just had to correct it. Sorry. xD

Also, I got a headache after, if that’s an
