Looking at tweets you may have a 1/30 rate of success with the tech-savvy group. The ‘remain calm’ things you put up makes us think of the ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ posters and we’re craving proper tea with leaves in a pot instead.

A flash of a subliminal image (not sure what it was but was mainly white)
Before the last break all of a sudden it seemed that Derren’s face was coming out of the screen and all my focus was on him, it felt really weird

HEY,, just watched it, i’m not sure what it did to me, i felt in my mind that i couldnt stand up but when i went through the prosses of standing up i could after about 20 seconds,,

It didn’t work for me, though I did feel very odd during the film (and during Derren’s presumably significant preamble). But I got up as normal afterwards.

My other half Charlie reacted very strangely to this.

I didn’t get stuck to my chair, but I think the sort of chair matters and how concentrated you are during the programme. During the film, I did feel my arms getting light and wanting to lift in the air like one of the test subjects.

Wow! I can lean forward and even get up, but only for a few seconds. I really can’t stay up for more than 2 or 3 seconds.
I wasn’t stuck to my seat but my upper thighs felt really really heavy, and my field of vision outside of the TV screen went grey/blurry.
Why were they two subliminal flashes so consciously obvious, though? Can’t imagine they were the ‘real’ reason people were stuck to their seats as they stayed on screen too long to have been effective (OFCOM regulations?).

It didn’t really work for me, I felt it when I was watching the film but then afterwards I wasn’t stuck or anything. My body aches quite a lot though, especially my shoulders and I feel a bit shaky so I think it might have had some kind of effect. Like you said though, there may be distractions or something I don’t know! Interesting to watch though!!

This is basic physics. If you can’t swing your head forward or lean forward it won’t work. Even more so if you can’t swing your arms forward. I’ve done this in lessons!

It didn’t work for me I’m afraid. I think that because I’ve read all Derren’s books (including Pure Effect and Absolute Magic) as well as Andy Nyman’s books, Luke Jermay’s books and a whole plethera of others I knew what I was looking for.

I was hypnotised when i gave up smoking about 7 years ago (still a non smoker) and its very similar to that.. i didnt think this would work but it did!

I turned off all the lights so I could really get into it and I really really wanted it to work ………but NOTHING happened at all, So disappointed!
My legs were very heavy, but I was able to stand almost straight away. Also when the clearing tone was played my legs began to feel lighter.

It was strange..my arms and legs started to feel heavy and I felt like I was sinking into the chair the move the movie played…but then it just went and the feeling went away. Really disappointed. Think it was the distractions in the house that didn’t help.
Did not stick. It is clear how this works. He was saying if you are ‘creative’ and ‘talented’ it will work on you…. people wanted to believe they were stuck to feel part of it.

Well, I saw the images flashing of a man tied to a chair with a white background throught the show, which would explain why the “internet version” wouldn’t work, rather than being an issue of resolution. I did like the way he implied that those who arn’t stuck are uncreative and such, basically giving them a reason to want to sit. It was very interesting though, despite the clues all along the way.
I didnt stick at all, I noticed the flashing images of people stuck in there chairs and giggled every time one appeared. I think this might have thrown it all off abit. Watching again on 4+1 as suggested to see if we can give it a second go.

i think it worked…. i started to feel heavy when he was talking to us just before the film then i panicked about half way thru and felt like i didnt have the energy to get up, hands stuck to legs for about 10 seconds. only stood up when the phone calls were coming in. i think he made us believe we couldnt get up, that film just made us think about it more

I wasn’t stuck at all. Not surprised I usually don’t fall for PWA stuff. Im a graphic design student so are trained to see things. the flashing pictures of the drawing of a women tied to a chair with rope were very obvious. I sat in a chair 50cm away from a 19inch tv in a dark room, alone. I did feel really happy about half way through the video, made me smile and almost laugh. but stood right up. is very interesting though and can’t wait for the other events =]. I think the fact I knew it was supposed to make me stick made me not, I dunno just speculating.

i got stuck. i didn’t want to (i was actually watching it thinking ‘ha, there’s no way I’LL get stuck!’) and then i couldn’t move my legs, back or arms. it was really bizarre, i started laughing hysterically and panicking a little bit, mostly because i was just so shocked that it had worked.
the minute the ‘clearing tone’ started playing i went from being unable to move anything below my neck (and my feet, i could move those) to standing up like normal.

i used to be able to make myself feel stuck to my seat without a video. i i was willing it to work, and i even felt heavy and stuck for a bit ,but the second i tried to get up it just went. so basically, i could get a better effect with just the power of my own mind.

My legs and bum weren’t stuck but my shoulders were. Could be because I was kinda slouched so feet could touch the floor (big sofa and litte legs). The effects have only just worn off and I’m feeling a bit dizzy.

Got a woeful pain in my neck that built as the video played. My friend had a stiffness in her legs. No affect on the other 2 people in the room.
It worked on my boyfriend! He couldn’t traighten his legs at the knee joints for a few minutes. It didn’t work on me as I looked away from the telly cos I am a wus. The music made me feel anxious though.

I would really like to know what it is that makes some of us more susceptible than others. I really wanted to get stuck but it didn’t work. Hypnosis doesn’t seem to work on me either. Could it be that I’m too cerebral? My brain has a mind of its own…
Holy Crap! that was soooo weird! i was stuck and could not get up! I felt a little sick throughout the program, got stuck, and now feel fine! weird!

My arm had a little stabbing pain in the top but i dont think it was anything as it wasnt touching part of a chair.. Hmm
Didnt stick, but it was weird…. my legs felt like they were stiff… almost like they were submerged in a goo or something. And my arms felt heavy. The weirdest thing was my heart started racing and my chest felt really tight.
It subsided after about 10seconds and I was able to slowly stand up.

No didn’t work on me. i was aware of language used before the 1 min film.Words such as “absorb”, “Stick” and of course “Stuck”. The use also of the guy selecting the green chair, putting the idea of chairs and seats in people’s minds.Also image flashes a few times of an illustration of a man tied with rope to a chair.The image was about 6 frames so technically not a subliminal image which is usual 1 or 2 frames.
I wasn’t stuck and neither were my family or friends.
That’s 2 16-17 year old males, and 1 60 year old male, and a 50 year old woman.

That was possibly the weirdest thing ever. At first I thought it hadn’t worked, my legs felt heavier, but my arms and back were fine, and so I tried to stand. I got about half way up and my legs shook so much, I had to sit down again. And when I tried to stand again, the same thing happened, it was like a force was pulling me back down to where I was sat. I tried this several times, but I just could not stand straight without falling back down to my seat.

I felt so weird watching the film, my head was spining and my whole body felt heavy. when the film finshed i felt like i was completely stuck to the chair and i couldn’t move. It didn’t last that long tho which was weird. I watched it with my parents it didn’t work on them. Also as soon as they got up started walking around and saying it didn’t work all the feeling came back to my legs and I could get up. I still felt dizzy and my like something was attracting me to the chair even though i could get up ok, I really didn’t want to?

I felt myself entering a slightly hypnotic state when Derren was talking in the moments before the film. I know because I always get very giggly when that happens. But anyway, I wasn’t stuck. This might be something to do with my TV being old and rubbish, I’m not sure. The strange thing was, I stood up and felt fine apart from a slight feeling of disappointment. I sat back down again and while Derren was talking to callers I tried standing up again and moved around my room a little. The further I got away from my seat the more I could feel the energy in my lower body being sapped away. I almost fell over!
I saw the flashing images before the film too, cheeky!

My legs from the knees down were like lead and i couldn’t move my toes, they didn’t feel anything at all (they are normally like ice) everything was just solid. all the way until the video telling us to stand up…just awesome!!!

I was totally stuck. Maybe took a risk doing this, I’m epileptic, but it was great fun. My eyes were rolling back uncontrollably about 20 seconds into the video and I struggled to keep my head up. Luckily I was alone so I didn’t scare anyone!
It took me several minutes to be able to put any kind of weight on my legs and I wasn’t able to stand up completely straight until the clearing noise was over.

Wasn’t as “stuck” as the people on screen who were participating, or those who phoned in…I could move my legs from the knees down, and could remove my back from the sofa I was leaning on…could generally move around in my seat a fair bit, but as for the “nether regions” (
) and the very very top of my legs, it felt as though I had been drilled to the seat.
Felt heavy when trying to get up after the clearing tone but all was fine after 10 secs or so.

It was weird… I noticed all the shadows and flashing pictures and stuff, and I had this really weird feeling in the pit of my gut, but all that happened was my legs felt like I’d been doing crunches or something for ages – I’ve always thought I was a bit resistant. But my flatmate got stuck solid – He’s only just managed to get up now, and he finds it really funny.

Sorry didn’t work at all although like a few others I did see the odd flash of someone tied to a chair in balck and white, it looked a bit like someone from the middle ages possibly with a hat on the flashes were too quick to be really sure. So all round this was a huge let down
Well, it didn’t work on me but my dad was next to me and after it was over I tried speaking to him but he was too transfixed to the screen and he didn’t respond to me. I’m a little freaked out!!!

Oooh very weird – wasn;t 100% stuck like the people in the studio, but felt SO heavy, like when you’ve been in the bath for quite a while and you want to get out. Legs felt very weak, bum was hot and felt 5 times heavier than normal (and it’s pretty heavy to begin with!).
I’m quite a logical guy, and without thinking rationalised to myself that of course I can stand, and that made it much easier… legs got strength back and (with a bit of help from my arms) I stood up. As I left the sofa, it got much easier.
Didn’t feel like anything else was stuck though… arms were fine. Didn’t really feel “glued”… but was rather odd. It really was like I was getting out of the bath!!

Yep worked on me – really weird, like the tops of my legs were ton weights and I wasn’t strong enough to move them to get up! Managed to unstick myself after a few mins – before the ‘blue screen of calmness!’ Found it hilarious – as did my hubby (didn’t work on him but he only came down half way through the programme – maybe you had to watch it all?). He reckons he’ll be able to ‘suggest’ things to me now! Great show looking forward to next week! xxx

I would like to try one of his shows live and see what happens then,
I was not stuck to my seat but I shall note a few differences in my surroundings as it was stated that the conditions in the room was perfect:
-I have my laptop on
-I have a lot of loose stuff around my room from pots of glue, models, wires and sheets of paper etc unlike those in the experiments shown on the tv.
-My room is rather small
-A clock was ticking and my laptop fans were working (not over-working)
- I had a small televison
So no the video did not paralyse me although my hypothesis is that because of my largely different environment this was the case.
Quite honestly I was stuck! OK I was sat on my seat watching and the following things happened… The “Lines” at the point of spining drew me in and got me focused. At the point towards the end of the spining lines I felt quite heavy a bit of an odd experience.
At the point of trying to stand up I was able to get a little of my chair but I could NOT straighten my legs to stand up fully really odd! My knees were stuck and my leg felt like I had hiked 10 miles none stop.
I am a bit speechless was a great eperiment!!! BTW I studied PWA as part of Psychology degree and wasn’t expecting it to work at all!

Legs went all numb about half way through, but when it had finished I could move them, and my arms. I thought it hadn’t worked. Then when I tried to stand up, I couldn’t! My legs were soooo heavy. I just couldn’t do it. They’re still a bit wobbly now. That was brilliant!!

i dont think the modern mind can switch onto this as there are far too many distractions both visually and mentally….i hate to say it coz i love the guy and think he is fab…but this has knocked him down a couple of levels….he may argue that i not responsive….everyone is a winner eh?

i was dissapointed that me, my mum, and all of my mates wern\’t afected at all =[ however, my pet cockatiel has a habit of watching the tv with us, and he tends to pace alot, however he did not move after the clip until that blue screen thingy was shown. may have just been a coincidence but it was quite interesting!

I couldn’t even turn my head or open my mouth. Could only blink. Even when I went to sneeze I simply ended up with a watering eye and no sneeze. When somebody asked me if I was stuck I could only blink at them and continue my frozen, inane smile.

my god how totally weird this was — though i felt really relaxed i moved my back away from back of sofa but i couldnt move my legs i could eventually get up but it was a really strange experience never felt anything like it and i got a shudder down my spine shortly afterwards

I really, really wanted it to work. I followed the instructions, did the breathing etc, but when the film came on all I could think about was how much it was like listening to ambient music (maybe Aphex Twin?) on our xbmc with the visualisations turned on. It was very pleasant. I was waiting for it to do something interesting but then it was over and I stood up without difficulty. Am rather disappointed :/

I don’t think it was the video itself that did anything, but more the thought that it might, people convinced themselves this video would stick them to their chairs, so it did (or didn’t). But maybe i’m wrong.

Nah I didn;t get stuck at all, felt sick though… I did notice quite a few subliminal pop ups of a guy tied to his chair with rope during the show which is what I think affected people and not the actual film, I reckon the actual film was a misdirection from what’s actually happening.
Bit gutted… I did Sky+ it though so I think I’ll try it again when I have some mates over

i was totally stuck! my elbows felt glued to my sides, my forearms were stuck to my thighs and my ass was stuck to the chair….i could move everything else…i.e kicking and whacking my husband (who wasnt stuck) as he tried to tickle me. grr
felt like i had a boulder on me pinning my arms and legs.
Unfortunately it didn’t work for me although it might have something to do with;
1. It wasn’t a dark room.
2. I wasn’t facing the tv face on.
3. I have the most annoying mum in the world, who decided to scratch under her leg cast with a knitting needle throughout the whole film, thus completely distracting me.

Just got a series of texts from family I forced to watch (being sick of me going on about Derren!), seems like none got stuck… maybe its because we are Irish? Wrong nation???
My daughter (age 11) could only just stand up and then kept falling back down again, she said her thighs really hurt (started while watching the film). It took her a few minutes to calm down afterwards, she’s fine now! Me and hubs remained fully mobile, albeit nicely relaxed!
Saldly nope i really wanted to though, however i got the feeling like I had when i was a kid and i used to persuade myself I couldn’t move but then i would snap out thinking “of corse i can move” and just stand up.

I felt strange from the start and whilst watching it felt like someone was pushing on my chest a few times making me be pushed back into chair more. I couldn’t move my hands and they felt a little cool when I could move them, My lower back and bum felt solid and very heavy. Very strange feeling and was very suprised I was affected. My wife wasn’t affected in any way.

However i would also like to state i got rather distracted by the fact that Hamleys Toy Store has a GIANT Wall-e and he kept popping up in my mind through your show…..see really you wanted us all to think of Wall-e didn’t you.
I will say though, my best mate rang me after the video showed in a panic because she couldn’t get up…and this is coming from a woman who said with quite a statement that she don’t believe in what you do…well she sure does now…she was stuck like superglue so i just laughed.

That was brilliant. Both my wife and I were fixed to the settee. My wife actually pulled a stomach muscle trying to get up. We weren’t freaked, just found it really funny. Recorded it and gonna try again later and with more people. Derren is a genius!

Legs were heavy for a while – but think that was just me trying to convince myself. Chickened out of the live show version of this when people watched a film before walking up to the stage – so i’m just proud that I actually saw this one through to the end!
Did not work on me, I noticed the flickered pic before the film started, probably stupidly told someone across the room who hadn’t noticed it despite staring at the screen. I felt a slight pull in my thighs and lower back, but I felt relaxed. I got up slightly slower than normal, but it felt the same as if I stood up after a Yoga session. Didn’t work on my Mum either.
I have some friends in my mind who I think it would work on and some who I believe it wouldn’t, it would be interesting if I’m right.

I felt really heavy through the film. I was able to get up but I found it really hard, it took a lot of energy and effort even when I’d sat down again and tried to get up for a second time. When he played the thing to release you it was suddenly easier to get up again! Weird!!!

She looked a little panicked so I helped her up. Then she couldnt sit back down again lol. She said it was because her knees felt locked and stiff, if it is any any interest to you

Worked on me for a minute or so. I’d always felt a bit smug about not being suggestible at all, so that really shot me up the arse!
I though it would scare me somehow as i’m only 16, but it was really quite fun! As the film started, I just began focusing on the tv, but then was going dizzy. I could see this fuzzy, faint shape that looked like the head of a person from the neck up. My mum and I both did it next to each other, but it didn’t effect her, but the top of my legs and my head felt really heavy. I tried getting up, got half way and I felt something heavy so I had to sit down again. I tried a few times but couldn’t for about 10 seconds!
Really great show!! I have to see this kind of thing live!! Wish I had Channel 4+1 so I could try it again.

Me and my Dad both watched it and i felt really giddy and kept laughing before you played the film and during. He got straight up. My fingers were attatched to my knees for about 2 minutes, but my legs were attatched to the seat until you played the blue screen when i felt really giddy again. Very odd!!

I was excitedly surprised to find I felt really heavy, mainly in my thighs, stiff as if I’d done lots of exercise and it was hard to get up. felt pressed downwards, as if there was extra gravity! i forced myself to stand at one point but it felt wrong and wobbly so sat down again. strange how as soon as i saw the ‘clearing film’ I stood up, no stiffness, felt light. Wow, very clever, I’m glad something happened!

All in all, a very surreal experience, but I don’t expect people to believe me considering the amount of people that it didn’t work on.

I have been stuck to my sofa before however, in fact I actually became my sofa. This was after smoking Salvia Divinorum & was absolutely terrifying & awesome, in the true sense of the word, like birth & death is awesome.
Noticed the subliminal skeleton guy on the chair and also the adverts implied sitting down and hypnotism. I did feel heavy and stuck but only for about a minute. I think the video was a red herring

i was watching the show with my little brother and sister, my step brother and his girlfriend. i’ve been looking forward to the experience all week, really believing it would happen. when it came to after the adverts when you were giving your speech, i started to feel dizzy and excited at the same time. when the short film started i started getting a tunnel vision like experience, everything around the tv was black and faded, and i felt heavy.
When it was finished and people on the show started to get up, as too did the people with me, whilst i felt heavy and attempted to get up. I started to use my hands to help me, but it was a fair struggle as my arms started shaking, however sadly i managed to get back up…just with a few difficulties. i will watch it again on sky+ alone however

It is an old trick called the ‘heard mentality’ where the group of people behave because the others are behaving in that way. Others want to show that they are impacted as well and go about showing that they are really stuck

Didn’t work. Am Gutted. Wonder if having laptop on and dividing attention between show and Internet buggered it. Did make point of watching the “special film” at full attention. Also caught a flash of picture of stuck person or two during show.
This is ridiculous! OMG! I couldn’t feel my legs, I actually ended up getting a load of people to kick my legs to try and get some sensation. It took forever and I need help to get up even after about 5 people kicking me loads. It is so scary and still feeling sick and worried.

gutted…..Derren Brown has failed to produce the goods and I’ve seen the same thing done 20 years ago at the Bell Language School Cambridge, when I worked there, by a crap magician….didn’t work then either. Most of the work was done before the film was show by repeated use of stuck, chair and telling you how the more you try to get up the more stuck you would become…..the crap magician got peoples hands to stick together

The first time it was just my bum adn legs (completely numb) and the second it was my whole lower body from the elbows down on my arms and from my waist down…it was quite a surreal experience! it was only when the blue screen came that i could move again. Now my head feels rather odd, kind of like a headache but less intense.
A similar thing happened to my sister…but the other one was very disappointed when it iddn’t work for her!

I have a flatscreen TV in my bathroom.. I got stuck on my toilet.
Watched with my 11 year old daughter- much anticipation and excitement waiting for it. Then naturally my sodding idiot husband chose precisely when the film had just started to bother coming home, started wittering on and walking in front of the screen, and maybe that’s why, but it had no effect on either of us- I was a bit cynical, she was very open to it, but absolutely nothing. She was so disappointed she burst into tears- but I reckon she’d have done that if it had worked too! Seemed like a long time before he ‘released’ people, could have been quite scary. Recording repeat which we’ll try after locking husband out of the house tomorrow
My theory is the name of the show “Control the Nation” was titled literally. You successfully manipulated millions of viewers to do what you told us to – “Stick your hands on your thighs, Feet on the ground ” etc. Really wanted it to work, but it didn’t for me. Ah well, awesome show anyway.

I was able to stand up right away, kinda disappointed that it didn’t work but a little relieved I guess that I’m maybe not as suggestible as would be dangerous!
Unfortunately it didn’t work for me but I was soooo hoping something would happen. The only thing that was odd was when the spiral screen was on – as I continued to watch it go round and round three boxes appeared in the centre of the screen side by side, but I could only concentrate on the centre box. My vision went very blurred. I could only see these boxes and nothing else, apart from the screen swirling. Then, when the film finished and the swirling stopped, the boxes took a few seconds to disappear before I could see the show again. Weird……
It did’t work on me either although I’m usually sceptical, was willing for this to take effect. Some insight in to my thought process during the event; I found myself asking too many questions about how this would actually feel. Would it feel like a weight pressing down on the top of my legs? Would it feel like glue sticking my bum to the chair? If it was glue, would the glue simply stick my pants to the chair leaving my person free to move within them, or would the glue be absorbed by my pants sticking both myself to my pants and my pants to the chair? Would my back also be affected also? I thought several times that I needed to quickly make a decision and focus on on the feeling instead of thinking about it. Obviously that didn’t eventuate
Neither myself, or my hubby were stuck to our seats, but we both suddenly felt really tired – so were off to bed !!

I just laughed my head off for the whole of the film. I just couldn’t stop even though I felt quite silly laughing at nothing. I laughed so hard I cried and became very hot. I didn’t get stuck though. I stopped laughing as soon as the film was over. Very strange.
Didn´t got stuck, but when you said to imagine the circle around the head I felt a fly passing super fast on my left ear which scared me and kept my concentration off.
I came here to see if I was the only one, so I gess the fly was real!

However, my hands felt really heavy on my lap but then I found I could stand up fine.. But after I stood up I felt a pins and needles type sensation on the backs of my legs. But nice try anyway ;D

It worked for me. I felt so heavy! I couldn’t sit forward and when I managed to do that, I couldn’t move my legs. Took me about 3/4 minutes to get up! It was so frustrating!!
Got stuck felt very heavy… found myself giggling and did feel a bit panicky.
Legs still feel like something is resting against my thighs… have walked around a bit to try and ease it off.
saw the 2 pencil drawings/ images of a man sitting on a chair wraped with a rope…, they were not the same, saw them very clearly… and still during the film could not move my hands though my ear was terribly itching

My mother got up after the film, and so did me and my brother, then she said “We’re just not susceptible to it” and then she sat down again, and after a few seconds she started struggling to get up. I was like “Are you taking the piss?” (She was really skeptical)
She really looked like she was genuinely struggling to get up, and she even asked me and my bro to try and help her up, but she was like dead weight, well more as if someone else was pulling her back down. Then she started panicking because she was really struggling to get up, and she started hyperventilating. She saw the “Relax, stay calm” and just panicked even more. Then when the blue screen came up, she leaned forwards, and just stood up.
I was shocked that it worked on her. I wanted it to work on me.

Of course I wanted it to work but I just couldn’t stop that little voice in my head analysing everything he said.
I reckon that phrase ‘bright and talented ones’ was designed as a Barnum statement to apply to anyone. Who doesn’t want to be seen as bright as talented? Mostly it was all about the power of Derren’s suggestion/ clever use of language and I don’t think the white noise had much to do with it. Sorry Derren, this did leave me with an emotional reaction:really angry. I thought you never wanted to resort to ‘tacky stage hypnotism.’ What happened to all those enlighting shows that blew me away and changed the way I think?
I tried to get up but my back had a sharp stabbing pain as though someone had something attached to my back and was pulling me back. The further I tried to get up the more painful it was. It actually really freaked me out and made me cry (shameful!) When I was watching the video I felt my legs keep getting stiff so I had to keep relaxing myself so I assume this was what he meant by ‘fighting it’ totally weird! Thanks Derren I am impressed! (didn’t have a giraffe walk through the living room while I was stuck though…tsk!)
it kinda worked for me… but only for like, 10 seconds… it felt like i became heavier and a little numb.
but however, it worked on my friend amelia who sat beside me…. she was totally STUCK! it was fasinating to watch her struggle to get up. she could move her legs and arms… but she just couldnt get up!
really enjoyed the show… love derren brown, he’s a total legend. by far the best derren brown ive seen.
I didn’t really get stuck, but I would like to try it again, because I don’t think I concentrated hard enough.
And for anyone who said they will try it when t gets on Youtube, you can’ do it because it is not the right resolution for the subliminal film to be shown and will therefore not work. 
Didn’t work for me, because I think I “got” how it was working. I think the success rate via TV must be v low: you need controlled conditions for that to work (like the difference between cinema and DVD, only more so). Obviously perhaps, everything in the rotating figure and music, subliminal images of shackling adn torture, also in Derren’s stern careworn demeanour, the unnatural “locking” position of the arms and hands on thighs, the “halo” restriction, the expectation of something gripping about to happen, etc etc was all designed to tense up the muscles of the legs as much as possible. Good show though, I thought!

I was there, and I went to reach for the telephone, and for the first 10 seconds I couldn’t move my hands, and then they started to shake and my heart started to race. Then I could move them, but I just couldn’t put any weight down to lift myself up.
It was strange, I could hear myself in my head telling me to move, to get up, and I just couldn’t.

stuck to my chair for a minute but then managed to heave myself up to grab the remote when pepp show came on. I didn’t feel like having my eyes burnt from their sockets! It was a really strange feeling, quite helpless. My family (that it din’t work on) just laughed and poked me . . . they love me so much

It worked! Not on my Mum, but it worked on me. At first i thought “no, i’m fine i’ve just got it in my head that i’m stuck..” but i actually could not get up! My legs felt really heavy and it actually hurt my arms to try and push myself up.
I honestly half expected this to work, and was a bit nervous about it. I did it with 3 of my sisters in our living room, me and one of my sister got stuck but the other two didn’t. Think this had something to do with where they were sitting as they were sitting at an angle. Me and my sister were stuck from our lower spine area down to our feet, we couldn’t move no matter how hard we tried. It was weird, could feel my arms and legs there but just couldn’t seem to move them. One of my sister then came and lifted up my arm and pulled me off the seat and I came off with no resistance! So weird!
I was able to get up quite easily. However my sofa is stuck to the ceiling.
This trick is a combination of suggestibility and physicality. If you want to try something similar, get someone to interlock their fingers and stretch their arms out in front of them (knuckles towards their face, elbows locked). Talk to them for a minute; tell them to imagine you are pouring glue over their fingers, that the glue is now setting, and now it’s hardened.
After a bit, some people won’t be able to separate their fingers, if they keep their arms locked . A combination of the physical effect of holding your arms and fingers in the position for so long is similar to sitting back on a sofa with your hands on your thighs. It just makes it a bit harder to change position.
The rest is just suggestion

I am a little confused, was not sure of you. Thought it was all done by tv tricks, but tonight yes I was stuck for a bout 2-3 min, but stuck to my chair and unable to get up. sorry I did not believe in you.

So freaky… really worked on me. But its wierd, I felt really wierd as soon as the break started, afte rthe video i felt light and feathery and stood up… then during the “Remain calm” section i became glued completely, especcially my arms… FREAKY
Got a little bit stuck, but was able to move quite soon again afterwards-before the phone calls were taken. Mainly made me feel a bit sick and then I started giggling, movement a bit difficut but acheivable with effort.
i honestly got stuck on my sofa my girlfriend and kids was there two but they stood up fine i could move my legs and hands but just couldnt get up no matter how hard i tried…..just gutted none ov my pals will ever belive me ha ha

Lady Claire – I had the same experience as you. I thought I could get up easily but I really struggled to lift my bum off the chair. I had to push my hands down on the seat and really shove myself up. My legs still feel heavy too.

My legs and body didn’t get stuck but my arms were like lead weights. It was a freaky feeling, I didn’t like it to be honest though it only lasted a few seconds.
Most people probably weren’t effected by this. And most that weren’t mainly convince themselves that something happened because they wanted it to happen.
I myself stood up without a problem.
Nothing seems to be proven genuine. Though one can only prove it as much as ‘You aren’t a Scrooge are you?’ and they reply with ‘No’. This is as much proof as anyone will get from watching it on their television.
I’d like the proof in front of me, like all of us I guess.
Hearing people say ‘it’s bullsh-t’ or ‘omg it worked!’ really doesn’t help when thinking if it is genuine or not.
But that’s the point of it right?

Neither me nor the lodger got stuck ( we were watching it together) – However, I did feel abit strange watching the little film. I think I might have been abit too excited to really take things in, I was abit giggly and laughy. The lodger however, DID have a hard time getting up even though he wasnt stuck. I thought he was stuck for a while, but he eventually got up. He said he felt quite heavy, not quite welded but like his body didnt *want* to get up. xD Great fun.

I was stuck to my sofa, it did not feel nice, i started laughing hysterically when the film was played and i could not move. My younger brother got up but i . . just couldnt.
Yes it worked for me. I couldnt move it was like i would go to move but lose the will to move properly eventually it got to me being able to move except my feet where still stuck so i couldnt get up. Then after the blue screen i got up on my feet and my back gave in haha not sure if it had something to do with the trick
OK, maybe I just worked myself up too much… I’m prone to anxiety attacks, so yeah.
During the actual film, I was completely out of it – it’s almost like going under anesthesia for me. I realise the film’s over and I tug myself off the sofa. I’m tingling. My feet won’t budge. My head’s thumping. My knees cave in. I sit myself back down and carry on watching; mildly disappointed. After the program finishes, I jump off my backside. I’m fine now. I walk into the other room… oh, I’m not fine. I’m tic-crazy. My legs are shaking, my hands tingle, my mouth’s numb, my head feels heavy.
Is it just my own imagination playing cruel tricks on me? Is anyone else experiencing similar symptoms?

I got a little freaked by the number 2 during the first bit of the programme especially when the ads said 2. Then I noticed the number 3 being emphasised, is it using the stages of sleep and consciousness? The room went blurry and sort of dissolved whilst watching the film. I noticed the sort of Victorian images of a woman and then a top hatted man roped to a chair. My legs felt a little heavy and it calmed me down for a bit after as I’m usually quite hyper.
Felt very heavy, like I was in a deep meditative state, but could move. I think I resisted because I thought it would panic me if I got stuck. Brilliant series.
Didn’t work for three people here. Had about 3 seconds of negative after-image but that was it.

Worked in a mild and funny way. A bit like the very early stages of a ‘psychedelic’ experience.
I knew I could get up if I wanted to, but couldn’t bring myself to. Very odd.
And it was all me – I was in control. I was at first “too scared” to try and get up, and giggling a lot. Couldn’t/wouldn’t move my hands off my lap. Then I just broke the spell, and got up easily.

I turned all the lights out and totally blocked everything else out as I watched the film nothing seemed to be happening then when I tried to move my head I couldn’t I was stuck by my neck and my stomach felt like it was been sucked through my back… It was quite unpleasant feeling so helpless and I really wouldn’t want to do it again… Good Work

I was stuck for a few minutes after the subliminal message. I felflike the sofa was velcroed to me! Before the video was played I started to see a mist surrounding Derrens face and then as the video was playing I felt floaty and light at the same time as my body feeling heavy and dense.. That makes no sense but it was weird! Fabulous show, cant wait for more next week!

Derren Brown was so weird, when he was saying the films about to be played, it felt like he was hypnotising me. When I was watching the film I felt very heavy and I couldnt even blink. When it had finished I couldnt get up at all. It took me 10min to get up. It was all quite scary!!!

I got stuck to my chair and it was really frustrating. I think its the best interactive trick I’ve ever seen. When it flashed all I could see was some guy in black n white.
It was soo wired being stuck i think before the flash while he was talking made me more receptive.

Heart was racing
Saw 3 flashes of the guy tied to his chair, and was stuck fast (mainly my thighs and bum). Felt really heavy and shook with the effort of trying to stand. It did wear off before the blue screen although the dog sat on my foot which didn’t help lol Well done Derren, that was very fun.

It was weird. When I was watching the video, my heart was racing and i felt really strange. I have to say that I didn’t play along – i kinda wanted it to work but there was always the thought in the back of my head not to let it do anything. When I tried to stand up at the end, I managed OK, I think because I didn’t think about it too much, I just relaxed and stood up. But my whole body when tingly, like a mild electric shock and i felt really tired.
I think the reason it didn’t work so well was that, like derren said, the conditions at home aren’t perfect, and also because you’re expecting it to do something so you have a chance to fight against it. The people in the other stuff – no chance, because they didn’t know what to look out for and fight against. Nice work, Mr Brown.

I felt really weird during the film, then everything seemed normal. Leaned forward to grab my beer, and realised I couldn’t. It was as though I had no calf muscles. Couldn’t get any leverage to push myself up. Even pushing as hard as I could on the table in front of me was fruitless — all the pressure seemed to disappear in my body. Great show.

you have the zone you need to keep your head in.
most people when starting to stand up will move their arms down and head forward
those are two things he says not to do, and during the video if you are into it your mind says you shouldn’t use them..
when i tried to stand up i realized i wasn’t using the right muscle
you are forced not to move your head or try to push yourself up properly.
o you try moving from your waist. but most people don’t practice standing up from the waist only. so they feel heavy using the wrong muscles.

Despite wanting it to work and watching the programme twice, neither me nor my 2 daughters felt a thing. We did however, fast forward all the adverts during the programme so that may have kyboshed things especially as we noticed the advert for the iphone had the word ‘stuck’ in the scrabble game it was displaying.

was stuck from my back down..my hands were stuck to to legs, when i tried to move my legs it felt as though my hands were to heavy for them to move, the same went for my legs and back. when i could move after the pages of text, when i stood up it felt like i had been sat for hours and my joints ached and felt creaky. Hubby and daughter didnt get stuck, however the cat hasnt moved from his bed for a while now…seriously..still feel a bit odd..not sure i like being suggestable! but i am an artist…so maybe that has something to do with it..that or i just really wanted it to work!
I didn’t get stuck at all, but did get a hysterical fit of the giggles followed by quite a strong anxious feeling.. still have a bit of a tight chest actually.

I wasn’t completely stuck but the film made me feel a sense of fear and vision was a bit trippy thereafter, looked like Derren was shifting around the screen when he was talking afterward. Heart rate and breathing shot up uncontrollably and then I became more reluctant to move rather than unable to move. I was able to stand up when I decided I really wanted to, but the power of suggestion definitely had a slight effect on me.

Didn’t work, purely cos I knew what I was looking for, except with the movie which was just a bit weird and made me dizzy. And the flashing images were sneaky…a man tied to a chair.
I got stuck!! I felt really heavy and struggled to move for at all for a good few minutes and then only slowly regained control of my body.

got really quite stuck till you said try to stand up, it took me 30 seconds or though and then i could stand but sat down again straightaway, didnt feel comfortable to walk around. took me a few minutes to feel right afterwards. definitley almost affected me. i think it was what you said beforehand that got me.
My heart rate beated faster and i was laughing all the way through for some reason but i was able to stand up again normaly. I noticed that there were flashes while derren was taling before and after the advert break just before the film started. was that part of it?
Brilliant, I used to play a similar (Albeit on a much smaller scale) when I used to get people to have their hands “glued” together using a mixture of placed pictures, wording scattered about house, and then a bit of hypnotism. My dad was a hypnotherapist, but I studied a lot more around the subject out of pure interest. Slightly annoyed it didn’t work fully, but my heart rate sped up, and I certainly felt heavier. Well Done Sir!

I felt a bit funny before the ad break, which is probably not what was meant to happen. The actual video was ruined for me by my dad who decided to wander into the room and be aimlessly distracting exactly halfway through the film.
I noticed those little image flashes as well. Was it some kind of etching? It looked like a man sitting down, though also oddly like someone on a unicycle. Were we meant to see those? Isn’t that subliminal messaging? Or were you just trying to mess with our heads and make us *think* you were using subliminal messaging when in actual fact it’s just a huge joke? Hmmmm?
My guess is it down to breathing patterns, and not just susceptibility. It worked on the people around the country breathing at the same rate, so Derren could take advantage of mirroring without even seeing who he was doing it to. But hey, I have been wrong before.

I really didnt think it was going to work but it did! I burst out laughing at the video. Just as it stopped and derren was talking again I couldn\’t move I had a moment of panic but then was amazed that I couldn\’t get up. I could feel myself relaxing as he was talking about being stuck and feeling the parts of my body in contact with the chair…I think that\’s the part that made me stuck…and I wanted it to! Got straight up but felt sleepy and heavy headed during the video, heart racing which is what happens just before I go to sleep. Derren’s language prior to the video shown was funny, speaking of talented, intelligent people being more prone to sticking! Cheeky git
but I can understand how the use of language, the image of the man being strapped in a chair and the mere thought of someone controlling them from the tele would allow some people to believe they are stuck… really wanted it to work on me though

4 of us tried it one at a time with all of the others out of the room with the lights off, sat very closely up to the large HD tv. rewound the show many times to keep trying but didn’t work once. quite disappointed.
I decided 2 secretly observe an invalid who has been on benefit for 30yrs. He sprang up, got a lager from the fridge then at the blue all-clear sank back into the wheelchair saying his legs were all heavy again and couldn’t move. Derren is brilliant..

Four of us watched, two adults a 12 and 10 year old. The 12 year old got stuck, but me (one of them there adults watching) got tingly forearms, they felt quite heavy – but I could get up easily. Very interesting experiment!
I didnt get stuck but felt a little heavy. I did see the flashes though, one flash was a guy sitting in a chair, that was before the video started.
Yeah, i couldnt move my whole body expect my head, it was mental! My Dad thought i was joking at first but then flopped my arm and i couldnt move my arm back, and it was just so freaky!! It took me about five minutes to get back up.

BUT I wasn’t sitting properly (because I was too frightened!) and wasn’t paying attention properly to anything before the film, which makes me think I missed all the PWA throughout the show?

I was stuck, transfixed to the screen. My hands on my legs were so heavy as was the base of my back, and my feet were glued to the carpet. Wow, i can’t believe it worked on me. Even more strange was when I could finally get up after the programme finished I went to the kitchen to do the washing up and i literally got stuck to the kitchen sink again whilst drying up. I couldn’t lift my feet, just slide and after a while, hop. Derren, I’m a believer, thanks for a fascinating program.

DERREN!! Man, that was mental! I was totally stuck for 10-15 seconds, after many “Oh my gosh” I could get myself off the sofa but when I sat down it was still hard to get up. Hands were shaking for ages after and I wish I was stuck longer because although I was scared, it still felt great! I really didn’t think it would work….. well done!

I was completely stuck! I sat there looking at my arms and legs going move! and nothing happened not even a flicker of movement not even when someone was madly knocking on my door and yet the whole experiance of not being able to move felt weirdly normal and unfrightning. Like falling asleep but still being awake
I was stuck for over 5 minutes! My husband wasn’t. I was stuck by my back, whilst watching the video went dark apart from the tv area it was very strange!!!
I sort of got stuck it was weird. During the commercial i wanted to laugh and was laughing and couldn’t explain it, then during the film my hands got really heavy then it just stopped. Then when it came to standing up I could, but for like a second tops but my legs were really heavy and weak and just buckled and I fell back into the chair. I did not belive this would work but it worked on my twice i sky+ (recorded) it on my sky hd box on ch4HD when i watched it live it did not work the second time it worked i could not move and my bad hand (that i injured a few years ago) hurt so much i was almost screaming and i felt ill 10 min later i tied it agin it did not work but then i tryed for a fouth time it worked again but this time even worse i was stuck even more and it felt like some one was cruching my neck after a few moments i fell from the sofa on to the floor fighting it and started to puke up a bit. I do not belive in the type of things along with ghost or ufos but tonight this really worked i still feel sick now,
Didn’t stick, but about 20 seconds into the film started to feel decidedly odd – a tension in my back and legs, a building pressure in my head and a faint buzzing in my ears. I don’t think I actively fought it, but I managed to get up without any problems (apart from the disappointment).

I’ve been under hypnosis before, so know I’m susceptible, however I’m currently on medication for back pain, so didn’t know if this would affect me. My – very cynical – husband was also watching with me. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me, HOWEVER my husband could barely move. Not only couldn’t he get up fro his chair – he couldn’t move his arms, his feet or even lean forward. It was great fun watching his expressions, it completely overshadowed the disappointment that I could get up. He came out of the hypnosis early into the “undoing” phase. We look forward to more shows!
I just realized, I didn’t see the rope tying the people down in the images (I got the general idea that it was someone struggling to get out, but I didn’t see the rope) and someone pointed it out to me after the show, but halfway through the show I randomly took my sock off, and tied it around my wrist. Maybe it’s just coincidence…

OMG I was totally stuck! Weirdest sensation ever! Felt a bit dizzy and sick in the ad break beforehand, then couldn’t move my arms, hands, bum or legs throughout the whole experiment, though could lean forward. Felt like pins and needles and when my partner was touching my hands to and make me move, they felt really numb and heavy. Also started to cry a bit cos was quite scared and freaked out that it actually worked. When blue screen came on at end I could stand up straight away. Strangest thing that’s ever happened to me.
Why was the 4od show retracted? What the hell happened to it? lol
What an incredible feeling. Thanks to Derren and all involved. I was stuck for the full duration, feeling like my brain wasn’t quite sending the correct signals to the right muscles. Seemed like a huge waste of energy to try and move, let alone stand!

I really didn’t want this to work on me and I didn’t expect it to, but it did. It was such an odd feeling. In my mind, I felt as if I could move at will — but then when I tried to raise my elbow from the arm of my sofa I just couldn’t. No amount of effort would break that contact. I watched the repeat on 4+1 and this time I could move my arms freely but couldn’t lift my feet from the floor or my lower back from the sofa. Well done Mr. Brown, you well and truly mindraped me.

i didnt get stuck but the 1st time i watched it, but the bottom half of my legs felt weird – like the tingly feeling you get before pins & needles. The 2nd time i watched it my arms felt a little bit heavy & when i tried to stand up i felt like i was lifting with my arms because my thighs felt a bit heavy too.
I could see the guy sat on the chair that kept popping up and I guessed that the woman in the toy shop would pick the girraffe because of the girraffe patterns on the walls, but no sticky

It worked on me and I didn’t think it would, was amazing. It definitely wasn’t just not being able to move my head forward and lift myself up like that, I tried that in blatant violation of instructions and my legs were still locked. I’m a skeptical sciencey sort but it was very very impressive. You had to make yourself accept it a bit, I’m very glad it worked on me though!
It made my right leg incredibly heavy- I could get up but an hour later and after trying it twice- both times it has left my right calf muscle really heavy!
I tried it a second time on Channel 4+1 after failing the first time. After seeing the video, I felt really heavy but managed to stand after 10 seconds. The was definatly an effect as my back was almost being pulled back into the chair and my legs felt fairly strange, almost numb. Creeeeepy ;s
Hello. I was really sceptical actually but it honestly seemed to affect me quite a lot. I wouldn’t have even thought I was particularly suggestible. My bum and my legs were stuck to the chair – although I was able to shuffle around a bit and lean forward – but my feet were completely glued to the floor. My heart also seemed to be beating irratically. and I got quite giddy. It just felt as though my lower body was a dead weight and it just seemed the more I tried to unstick myself and get worked up about it, the deeper I was cemented to my chair. I did push my television right up to the screen though, so that probably made me more suceptible. Good stuff though (Y).

However i did get stuck, I couldnt raise my hands from my legs, they felt attached to my knees as if they where apart of them.
As i tried to apply a force in my feet and legs to stand up, it was like it dissippitated, the energy just went.
Like when you have pins a needles in your hands after sleeping on your arm and you try clinching your fist as hard as you can…but no matter how hard you try to clince your fist, it just feels like your not applying any pressure or force!

I got stuck to the sofa. I felt like there was a rope around my arms and my stomach had a weight on it. I couldnt stand up and the more I tried the worse it got. First thing I got was the shivers when it first started playing and then again when it was over. I feel strange now and shakey and my forehead feels like there is pressure just above my nose.
I was shouting at my partner (who it never worked on) to pass me the phone because I couldnt get up for it myself.
Funnily enough I seen different things on the screen to him as well.

As for the flashing images, i did see them, from what i remember, i seem to have seen an image of a person sat in a chair in the same position we was told to sit. white background, black lined drawing.
Really dissapointed! I was so desperate for it to work! I’ve been reading your book and recently developed a real interest. Ah well, I guess you can’t win ‘em all. Not that I’m sure being more “highly suggestible” is a thing to be proud of in all situations…Either way it’s all left me feeling a little inadequate haha.

So I tried again on channel 4+1 this time, I was incredibly comfortable so much that I didn’t want to stand, and was talking to those around me who it didn’t work for. I explained how i felt able to move but really didn’t want to. When I was asked to prove I could, I stood with ease.
I was really disappointed that I wasn’t stuck fast, but I suppose not being as suggestible is a good thing.

Didn’t work on me, but my back was a lot harder to lift off the chair than usual. Also I have a theory about the sublimonal messages being so obvious. At the end, derren said that he didn’t use them. The government are using them too through t.v and radio, so maybe he wanted to show us what they do, but make us figure out ourselfs so he didn\’t get shit for it. Making few very obvious and others almost non existant makes us think that he did use them when he says he didn’t. He’s messing the government around with the lottery and controlling the public. Crafty man eh?

I think the giggling may have something to do with fear – as Derren beforehand told the viewers that they shouldn’t watch it if they feel they may become hysterial or that it might have adverse effects.

Maybe if I actually watched it, maybe with someone else and not on my own, I’d be fine. I think the idea that I was being made to do things without knowing freaked me out. Right now I’m overly paranoid and keep seeing flashes of light.
It didn’t work the first time, maybe because I was on my own and a bit scared XD but when I tried in Channel 4+1 it worked for about 1 minute after the video stopped. Still now, after 1 hour I feel very heavy and tired! What was in the video?

Nope, didn’t work for me. I wasn’t all that keen on the idea, to be honest, and because of that I didn’t really pay attention to Derren’s spiel before and after the film which ruined it I think. Disappointed, but also relieved.

I was able to push myself out of my chair using my arms, but my thighs felt really heavy or tense or something when I first tried to stand up… Does that count?

watched it with my 11 year old son. afterwards we both said that we started to feel the beginnings of an hypnotic state whilst derren was talking just prior to the film. after discussing the effects, my son said that the screen became super prominent and the background and his peripheral vision started to fade to white.
although neither of us actually “stuck” we both felt a certain heaviness in our limbs.
i suspect that the main “suggestion” was done prior to the film which was mildly psychedelic and just enough to add to the effect of disconnecting you from your immediate surrroundings.
also, the “subliminal” images were shown for far too long to be subconsious, and must have been there as a reinforcement….

Yes, it worked. I was stuck, I couldn’t even move my arms or hands so I wouldnt have been able to ring the show. It felt weird, but a nice weird, relaxing. My back and legs were as if they had become a part of the chair i was sat in. It took a short while after the blue screen for me to be able to move my hands and then to get up. I enjoyed the experience so much I switched over to channel 4 plus one to try it again and it worked once more. I have to say though that my husband tried it (I made him) the second time round and it didnt work for him.
I got stuck! Was really weird, felt like someone had turned the dial up on the gravity box. Didn’t feel scared at all, though I got really giggly. My sister (who was watching with me, though refused to watch the film) said that if she didn’t know that I hadn’t touched a drop of booze all day she would’ve believed I was drunk, lol! Good one Derren, can’t wait for next week’s!
Whilst I was watching the short film, my eyes kept being drawn to the top of the screen, once it was over I felt like someone was sitting on my legs – they felt really heavy. Could get up and move but I think if my husband wasn’t freaking out (he refused to watch) and I was alone, it may have worked better. Good experiment though, I wonder how many losers will try to sue/complain/bunk off work etc due to this??

Fantastic. Watched it with my husband, my 10yr old daughter & 12yr old son. Hubby & 10yr old got up straight away, but my son & I were stuck, despite him gigglling whilst watching the film (I thought it would distract me).
I noticed my arms first, feeling heavy, then when I tried to get up, just couldn’t move. My son got up after about a minute, but I was stuck right up until the release, I went red in the face with effort.

Yes, it worked on me! Very strange but very calm sensation, didn’t feel panicky at all but my brain was telling me (somewhere!) that I should be anxious by now! My friend (who looked away, chicken!) called my name afterwards, I couldn’t answer her but could hear her clearly. She said I was looking very glassily at the screen. All my limbs were heavy, my back felt stuck and I couldn’t even wiggle my fingers. Once the blue screen started with the instructions I slowly started to ‘come back’ and eventually stood up, but felt sluggish for an hour or so afterwards. In a nutshell, it was pretty amazing. I was stuck for a couple of minutes, even trying to pull myself up using my other half’s arm didn’t work. He didn’t stick but felt heavy legs and struggled to get up a bit.
it was very much like being in a meditative state i found. i knew i could move but really didnt want to, though with a small amount of effort the trance was broken and i could stand. however moving around was quite bizarre, rather pleasantly like being on mildly hallucinogenic drugs. though i could stand and move i was compelled to return to the position and felt a kind of euphoria when i did so. on the repeat i decided to mute the television after the video, close my eyes and descend into a deeper trance, which was much easier than normal.

Didn’t work for me sadly. However I did feel dizzy while I stared at the video and my hands went stiff. But I managed to get up without any difficulty.

So I ended up sitting there not knowing how to get, up, tried harder and harder and eventually I changed the tv to 4 +1 and saw the whole show again, this time I almst feel asleep during the movie but did eventually get up, after reading the “stay calm and smile” text… Very cool and I am still tired, so maybe Derren helped me with my sleep problem… goodnight

for me it was more i had no effort to get up i could move my arms but i felt my bum was furmly glued!! and i just had no engergy even when i try to relax and i tried again
then i began to forget about it and gradualy i could sit up only lasted 2 min or so

That was the most bizarre feeling I’ve ever experienced! I was totally stuck!
My hands would only lift about a centimetre from my lap, my elbows felt as though they were glued to my sides, my feet were stuck to the floor and my back felt like it had been welded to the sofa! I was trying soooo hard to get up but it just felt impossible! Also, I could not stop laughing the whole time, it was very weird! Afterwards, it took me a little while to stand up and my hands and legs felt like they belonged to someone else. I watched it again on Channel 4+1 and had exactly the same experience.
I absolutely LOVE Derren and cant wait to see him live again next year at the Sunderland Empire! The man is a remarkable, talented, devilishly wicked sprite and I adore him!
it worked for me, watched chan4+1 and ive only just been able to stand up but my left leg still feels funny, having to drag it around.it only affected my legs wife was pulling on them to try to sraighten them but they just felt numb and heavy.amazed that it took me so long to be able to move them.very strange feeling, one which i dont wish to experience again in a hurry

It didn’t work for me the first time, when I watched it one Channel 4. But that could be something to do with the fact that my mate and I were still slightly laughing at the guy whose arms raised up during the test.
I then watched again on 4 +1 and my arms felt so heavy I couldn’t even lift them off my legs. And weirdly my chest felt really heavy too.
Bad times.
When Derren was talking before the break I got very scared, just by the way he was talking about it

Went into it quite aware of what was being done and how it was being done (through the ‘patter’ before and after rather than the film itself), so was quite amused and pleased to find myself ‘stuck’. I felt as though I could have stood up if I wanted to, I just really really didn’t want to. As someone who’s into D/s, it felt somewhat like being in a submissive headspace. Not that I want to think of Derren that way!
I stood up before the clearing tone was played, mostly just to prove that if I wanted to, I could break it. I was a consenting adult.

I believed it would work and told myself it would so after the film I honestly felt I was stuck to my chair, well, for a minute or two. I could barely lift my arms and my back felt really heavy so much so it still hurts. Hmm. Twas a funny experience, I laughed at myself. I could easily get up however when I stopped thinking it was even possible to get stuck to a chair.

Hmmm!. Interesting.?! I don’t think watching the video had anything to do with making people stay in their seats, it just gave more time for what Derren had been saying, just before the video started, for us to think and repeat “being stuck”, “feeling heavy”. He made us aware that it wasn’t just “bums on seats” but the whole of our backs to our feet which were involved in being “stuck”. Putting a “safety” zone around our heads also convinced us not to move. I didn’t get the feeling I was “stuck” but just didn’t want to stand up until saying to my daughter, who was watching with me “After 3 we’ll STAND UP..1,2,3″ and we both stood up..disappointing! but kept sitting down in the same position for a while, which was strange. *Derren- Love how your knowledge becomes our entertainment! xXXx*
we worked it out, it was because of the picture of a man tied to the chair who flashed up before the break and just before the film. the trick then only worked on the people who saw the man. but only on people who clocked it subconciously and didn’t really remember it properly.

I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of hypnotism/ subliminal messages/ whatever it is you do with yourself but maybe I have impenetrable skin or something. No, I didn’t get stuck and didn’t expect to, but I was laughing as I hadn’t luaghed for years at something I was reading just before the break.
That was the weirdest thing. I was literally stuck to the couch. My back and my hands were fine, but my legs were so heavy! When I tried to get up, it felt like something was pushing down on them.
Now, I’m able to move and get up, but my legs feel so weird, like before I get pins and needles.

Didn’t work the first time but on +1, my cousin and I were completely stuck to a small two-seater settee. Absolutely helpless with laughter at the look on each other’s faces and unable to stop my auntie filming the chaos while her dog used the moment of distraction to drink everyone’s cups of tea!

It didn’t work on me, but perhaps that’s because I noticed the subliminal cartoon picture of a guy tied to a chair that was flashed at least 3 times before and after the video that was supposed to stick us to our chair. I think Derren Brown is fantastic, but I don’t believe people were stuck because of the video – EVERYTHING that Derren does is because of various suggestions.subliminal messages he makes during his shows/tricks. I don’t buy the whole “ultra violet “pick me” on the back of white cards” argument. And the green chair was picked because of all the green lighting and the green table-top. And the girl picked number 19 because Derren mentioned that number so many times before she was asked to do the selection. It’s all the power of suggestion. And it’s VERY clever!
…I ran out of space, but did anyone else notice that the iPhone advert in the break showed a scrabble app with the word “stuck” appearing on the screen in the advert break before the “video” was shown…? That and the subliminal cartoon and simply Derren Brown’s genius is what stuck some of you. I’m convinced that the only reason it didn’t work on me is because I was trying to work out what he was doing!!!
I was watching it with my friend (18) and a child I was babysitting (9). My friend stuck totally and said she lost feeling in the back of her legs, I didn’t get stuck and then stood up and promptly realised that I was wrong when I fell flat on my face.

Oh well. We had lots of fun coming up with alternative meanings for the ‘reassuring messages’ – ‘you are very receptive’ became ‘you are very gullible’, ‘lean forward’ became ‘please do not drown on your saliva’, and ‘breathe deeply’ became ‘please do not pass out and sue channel4 for injury’.

yepp workked on me! was stuck for about 2 minutes just felt really really heavy and just couldnt physically get up, and a friend of mine was stuck for a very long time she couldnt move her feet or arms aswell, freaked her out majorly!

My friend just came round, said he was really freaked out by it. He was totally stuck and started getting a bit irritated by it. His mum lifted his legs up and they just slam backed down on the ground. Personally I didn’t get stuck in my seat until after a few minutes but could still force myself up, I just felt really heavy and I could only raise my hands by about an inch but no further. Pretty cool stuff but could have been better given a bit more time focusing on the hypnosis bit (yes, it was hypnosis – or suggestion. Whatever you want to call it).

I’m a little concerned that Derren is interested in exercising ‘mass control’ but at least I’ll be able to resist his powers when he tries to take over the world!!
I also saw the flashed diagrams of a man bound to a chair, and I think this is why it didn’t work on me too well (my arms were very heavy, that’s all). The same happened with the show that was aired just after the prediction of the lottery: I noticed what I thought said FORCE flash across the screen and I remembered from my recent Derren Brown binge that he made a subliminal film to make filmgoers forget the film, so I managed to remember the whole thing.
Also these smiley faces are a nice touch.
Also, as my arms were feeling heavy, I should explain that my peripheral vision blurred completely and when I managed to lift my arm after a bit of effort, I felt a big swooping feeling in my head, like a weight was being taken off it. It was as if I suddenly stopped believing in the force pushing down on my arms.
Watched sitting in bed on my laptop and didn’t work, decided to turn the lights off watch again and have the laptop close to me on my lap, didn’t work, got straight up and went to the toilet. OMG! Got stuck on the toilet. Weirdest thing ever. Could not move my legs and felt like i had no energy to get up. Nearly called my flat-mate to bring me the laptop so i can watch the end clip but after a couple of minutes i got up. Was very very strange. Thanks for the experience Derren.

I couldn’t stand up as quickly as normal, my girlfriend felt very heavy on her top half…(there’s a joke there some where) All in all it definitely had some sort of effect on us both.
I was stuck for a while: my boyfriend was incredulous. This morning I got stuck to the bed: self suggestion? I shared a house at uni with a guy who regularly would get stuck: unable to even move a finger: I’m sure that was a self-hypnosis sort of thing.

My partner tried it, and although he said he felt heavy, and didn’t want to get up, he was able to get to his feet.
Also, it was a lovely feeling afterwards…all light and airy.
It worked on my wife but not me. She couldn’t stand for a couple of minutes but got out of it before the ‘release’ images were shown. It made me howl with laughter to see her trying to stand up

I was disappointed last last night. Not with the show, I thought that, as always from Derren, it was very entertaining. No, I was disappointed because it didn’t work on me. I really wanted it to, but I half suspected that I wouldn’t be open to it enough. In fact most of the week up to it I was telling myself and others that I feared it wouldn’t work for me.It’d be interesting to know the success rate.
My boyf got stuck & started laughing weirdly & my hands got stuck to my legs. I felt shakey afterwards x

I didnt get stuck but, first time i saw it but i felt little paniky and scared almost and my heart was beating very slowly but loudly.
The second time i watched it with my boyfriend and we sat closer to the tv with no lights and that time i got this very strange sensation in my bum cheeks and arms and hands, they felt extremely heavy and i felt very very calm, and again my heartbeat slowed down and was beating hard. I didnt get stuck but felt very strange.

BOB! I saw that flashing image too during his show after the lottery prediction, i could not read it quick enough but i definately saw something flash up which i was telling my boyfriend about last night as he didnt see that show. I knew i saw something but nobody believed me!! I did forget what happened though for about 5 seconds and then it came back.
I also saw the diagrams on last nights show, as did my boyfriend. They actually scared me a bit coz i said it looked like rope around his neck which freaked me out but my bloke said he was just sat down, i saw it in more detail than he did. Loved it all though!
I do really enjoy both Derren’s and Andy’s work but what I enjoy more is the “trying to figure it out brigade” on here and the “wow that’s amazing I just don’t understand it…” brigade. You lot give me hours of endless free entertainment.
The Chair thing took me back to the mid 80′s and the Paul Daniels show (I think) when an old school hypnotist performed a similar stunt, I remember my mom telling me not to sit too close to the TV just in case I got stuck…
That said DB and AN, top job on all the “clues” you dropped throughout the show, even into the ads which CH4 must love you for as well as the takings from the phone lines…..you gave both the afore mentioned camps plenty of material to chew on. I was a little let down by the film though. spinny non descript things…grrr
I watched the programme right through the first time and it didnt work, so I watched the final 15 mins again on C4+1 and was completely stuck solid. I can only describe it as very similar to having an epidural. I found it hilarious and couldnt stop laughing. BRILLIANT. NO-ONE has ever managed to hypnotise me before.

Definitely had a strong effect on me, arms were acting strange during the video wanting to rise and float, hadn’t moved my back or legs at all during the video, waited a while to try standing up and when i did, my thighs kept me down as hard as they could, i tried using my arms and back i could not compete with my own lower body strength!, i managed to lift off about an inch sometimes but id be straining too much to even breath, it was a tight fix to the chair there was no way i could get myself off!, after the release noise/video too another minute to feel normal was a bit shaky when not sitting down, it was an amazing experience ! thank you very much!

I haven’t read everyone else’s comments but did no one else notice all the pictures that we were being flashed way before the film? There were lots of them, so I’m very surprised that no one mentioned it on the show.
I have a strong inkling that the trick had nothing to do with the film but to do with the flashing images and with the way that Derren was speaking with the audience.
Yes…my back and right leg were stuck. My left leg was fine but I couldn’t lift my right leg. I could push my head forward but my back (from the shoulder blade area down) wasn’t mine any more! Paul (my b/f) put his hand between my back and the sofa and tried to push me forward but couldn’t budge me at all. I was stuck for around 5-6 minutes. I wouldn’t say my leg felt heavy – it felt more like it just wasn’t there…that the leg I was looking at wasn’t mine. A very odd sensation and although I wasn’t scared by it, I did find myself repeatedly leaning forwards and lifting my legs every so often for the rest of the evening…just in case! We recorded the show and Paul wants to do a rerun to see if it happens again. I suspect he’s hoping I’ll be stuck there much longer next time! WTG DERREN!
Didnt get stuck sorry, however, did notice that throughout the show, there was several (i counted / noticed at least four), Black and white images flashed whilst Darren was Talking. There was also a basey type noise only momentarily though. The last image I tried to recall was either of a wheelchair or a burning bridge cant mentally recall what it was. I took a course in Marketing and was already aware of SA / PWA and I guess I was waiting to see if any of the techniques I learnt about were used, Missed a few in the Toy shop but nottice quite a lot (made me feel a bit better that my education had not been wasted entirely) i picked a giraffe after going up first flight of stairs told my partner (impressed or what)… Darren could you be honest how many black7white flashed images did i see/

I sat back down again to listen to the callers and went into a kind of trance when all the words came on screen. I suddenly couldn’t move at all. Hi, I watched it with my husband and 4 kids aged 8-14 – nothing happened to 5 of us, but my 14 year old son was stuck fast for ages! We were all marvelling so much at the effect on him that we talked over the signal at the end to ‘snap out of it’, so he remained ‘stuck for at least 15mins! We gave him a blanket and some hot chocolate, he was shivering so much and getting quite panicky – he seemed in shock? He kept saying he felt incredibly sad, and that no-one else should try it as it was awful – then we replayed the release signal (hurray for sky+) and he just snapped out of it – he stood up and was all annoyed saying he couldn’t believe we’d watched it without him!! Afterwards all he could remember was a giraffe (from earlier in the show) and he said he felt fantastic – amazing!!
It really worked! I started to feel like I was sinking into the sofa from just before the film and when I tried to get up I could only manage to move my back off of the sofa by a small amount as my legs felt totally imobile. I managed to free myself by forcing my hands to my side and pushing but it required a lot of effort! I assume everyone saw the flashing images of the tied up man before the film twice and once after? It is obviously just about being open to it, nothing else. I have to say after the lottery prediction I had started to lose faith in Derren but I’m glad to say I’m now greatly anticipating next weeks show!
I must be VERY susceptible – my entire body was PARALYSED from head to toe, bar my eyes and mouth! Slowly the effect wore off from my head down. The strongest effect was on my hands – I just couldn’t unstick them from my lap!

didnt get stuck but did feel myself starting to feel dozy and sleepy during the film and my head was really heavy – worked on mum though and she struggled to get up. Cant you try it with everyone live when you come to MK theatre!!!

Yes I got stuck, well kinda, my legs felt strange, when I tried to move them I couldnt at all. With all my might I tried, they just wouldnt budge! I kinda felt like my legs wasnt part of my body… I didnt have high hopes that I was going to be able to be suck but low and behold…it was a great experience!!!

I watched it with friends when it was live and nothing happened. Watched it on repeat and I didn’t blink once throughout the whole thing. Tried to get up and started crying then realised my arms were too heavy for me to be able to get myself up. ODD.
Neither me nor my partner got stuck, however the weirdest thing happened with our cat, don’t know if it was coincidence or what, but basically our cat never pays attention to the TV, but as soon as the video came on, he wouldn’t stop staring, and then it seemed like he lost control of his back legs as he started dragging himself towards the tv using just his front paws until he was just a foot or so away from it , then when the colourful screens with the words on appeared he remained fixated and dint look away until Derrens face disappeared and the credits rolled.
He has never watched tv for more than a few seconds before, so even though it didn’t work on us, we think it had some effect on our cat =D was pretty odd.
I didnt get stuck to my chair but my head felt like it was being pushed back and my neck muscles tensed so my neck got stuck :S it was weird, even after the clearing tone my neck kept getting stuck
Also come to think of it, when the blue screen appeared I found it very hard to get up and was “stuck” for about 10 seconds.. when it said i should be free =\.

However, felt the sensations at the start that you were talking about, got a bit dizzy but that was all. Being a psych student I think I was listening out for leading statements and whatnot instead of just letting the words wash over me.

For some reason I saw a picture of the mad hatter from Alice and Wonderland when the flash came on, where others saw someone tied or glued to a chair. I think it may be because a similar picture is in the room where I was sitting. Well, I wasn’t as firmly glued as others, but every time I tried to stand up all my energy drained and I couldn’t. but the strangest thing is that about twenty seconds in, my arms gradually felt heavy but instead my legs just suddenly felt a huge force out of nowhere.then It was gone, and afterwards I couldn’t stand up.
These series of shows are going to be the end of Derrens prime time career if this is the standard he is setting.

I did not believe I was stuck, and kept telling myself it’s all n my head. But in the end there was no 2 ways about it.. I only watched this morning on sky plus but it was really wierd. I was stuck from the end of the film to when the music came on to be realeased. After a few seconds of the music I felt really light and loose, and I was able to move my back and stand up. I cannot explain it but it is sligtly freaky to think that messages could be around us with out even realisin. Just makes you think. What else are we doing because we are brainwashed.

Most quizzically however I found that my chest really tightened up during the video and I could only take short breaths. The experience wasn’t uncomfortable, rather it sent me into giggles. Did anyone else experience a tightening of the chest?

Probably one of the most bizarre feelings I have experienced. I have done this 3 times now each time working very well,
1st time: My legs where literally stuck to the chair, I was unable to stand or even slide over to the other side of the sofa
2nd time: worked much, much better than the first time with my back also being welded to the back of the seat. On this occasion I was physically unable to move anything but my head and arms.
3rd time: probably the weakest of the 3 attempts sticking just my legs but not for a very long period of time… possibly because I had just woken up.
The sensation of it is almost like the seat is attached to your legs and/or back… I have recorded what happend to myself which I will be posting on YouTube…

So me, my sister and my dad could all get up fine, but my mum was a different story. It was so funny, she said that her bum was stuck, and it was!!!! She said she felt as if there was a bowl bit where her bum was, and like it was sucking her into it. I really wish it had worked on me. But maybe i’m just not open enough….

Not only did I get stuck but I started laughing manically. Really freaked my wife out, she wanted me to stop but I couldn’t. When the unstick instructions came on I could move and stopped laughing all at once. Just tried at again on recorded copy. Got stuck again but no manic laughter this time.
I got stuck at first, whenever I tried to sit up it was like my body was telling me it couldn’t. Weird stuff!
It was all a matter of convincing myself I could stand up and forcing myself to move.

I chickened out b4 hand and my boyfriend sat and watched this as he cudnt wait and i cudnt watch as was nervous! I snuck upstairs and looked thru my parents crack on door and saw it was blurry lines? I then went down n heard my mum ask my boyfriend if it worked and it had. He was stuck for near on 5 mins and cudnt move. I even tried to pull him and he cudnt move until near the end of it. I tried it a 3rd time as i sky plused it and yes it worked on me 2 but not as good as on him and he got stuck twice lmao. Last night’s episode was great. I felt really heavy + took longer than usual to stand up. It was my bottom half that was the heaviest/stuck. Me + 3 of my friends got together to watch it (on a movie projector, might I add
) and out of 4 of us, one of us got stuck. She said it felt like if she got up, it would really hurt her legs. She was stuck for the whole time up until the clearing tone. We tried to phone in but obviously the lines were busy.

I DO think I should say this though.. about 15 minutes after the program was finished I felt very strange and panicked. I was breathing heavily and then sort of slipped in and out of conciensness. Then the breathing thing started again.
Again, not blaming Derren. I just think that although the video didn’t work in the intended way for me, it did tap into my subconciense. So well done.

no it didnt work on me, nor was i put into a trance when i saw a stage show. Maybe my sceptical mind is telling me that this only works if you can be duped into believing “it” will work. Funnily enough the placebo effect works on me brilliantly (even when i know that it was a placebo! so thats truely mind over matter).
enjoyed the ride anyway and will be watching the next trick avidly, so congrats on a really entertaining set of shows!

Unbelievable. We all watched on sky HD in France last night .1 out of 5 were stuck. However i played it back on sky plus this morning and I was stuck for about 15mins. I broke out in a sweat and felt disoriented after. I got the giggles first time and it didnt work but this time it did. Freaky

i could stand up but it took a while and my arms were stupidly heavy and a friend of mine in the room said as he tried to stand up he had the sensation that someone was pushing him against the chair…two of my friends who were also in the room didn’t get affected at all so it was quite interesting…i didn’t stay stuck for too long but i put this down to possible distractions in the room
Im disappointed, their was 4 of us in the house and it didn’t work on anyone. However, I believe that this trick works by people stating it worked on them when it didn’t, just to be different or for the fame. the subliminal message of the man tied to the chair was obviously meant for the audience to be seen, i’m pretty sure subliminal messages clearly have a shorter time span than them, it’s almost as though its their to make you think it’s their to work. However thats just my opinion and everyones entitled to their own. I like Derren Brown, he has charisma and I will continue to watch his shows, lets just hope next weeks alot better.

I got emotional during the tape, I felt like I wanted to cry,im not sure why. My heart was racing and I got really hot. I literally got stuck for 7 mins, I got quite frightened at one point. To Clarke O’Gara – Yes, it felt as though I was about to have a heart attack. It was an unpleasant anxious feeling accompanied by hysterical laughter, but perhaps that has more to do with anticipation than the effects of the video? Like, you’re expecting something to happen so you get these other bizarre sensations.
I didn’t stick (though I did feel a little heavy getting up), but my 12 year old sister did for about three minutes. She said that she was fine for the majority of the video, but about two seconds before the end she suddenly felt really really heavy, as if she didn’t have the strength to pull herself up (and she’s very little XD) She could only slightly move her arms and her legs just wouldn’t move.

I have been reading up about subliminal messages, PWA and hypnosis before this show, also I am a TV, Film and theatre student at Reading University, so with this in mind, I thought I would have less chance on this working on me because of this.
However I was open minded to the possibiltiy of being stuck to my sofa. I think this would have worked on the people who thought it might be possible rather than the ones over concentating for this to work, or the cynics that flat out deny that this can happen.
Also I recorded this and watched it far later than Ch4 and Ch4+1, so thought that the odds were stacked up against me!

I was able to get up but my legs felt very weak so I sat down again. It was almost like my body was saying to me sit sit sit sit sit sit sit. My legs were too shaky and I could not remain standing for too long.

Thanks derren, had the best laugh ever last night. Was on a train home from london to manchester when live show was on so watched when we got home @ about midnight or i’d have been phoning in…. It didnt work on me (as usual….. nothing has ever worked on me during the tours either and i mean ever) but it worked on my other half who normally at the tours isnt affected either. Sooo funny to watch as he really couldnt move (though sorry derren but i managed to “release” him by talking to him before ur “cleansing tone”). Was well and truely stuck for nearly an hour, until my husband came home and pulled me off the sofa! My legs then collapsed when I tried to walk. Found the whole thing really relaxing though.

Worked on me the third time only for a min or so. The reason must be because you were in the same place for over 2 mins your muscles will be tired and the dull music thats the reason just because your tired you can’t get up. Also the 3 sublineral pictures I expected helped (which sublineral messages etc are illegal)! But good anyway!

Even before the Subliminal film was played, I felt myself getting very transfixed by the screen. By the time the short film came on, my heart was racing. I started to feel heavier and heavier, when it was finished I tried to put weight on my feet to bring myself up, (even though I could lean forward), but my feet kept on slipping. Then, I tried to use my hands to push myself up and I just didn’t have the energy I could lift myself so far and then I felt like I was being pulled back down again. I stayed like this for about 5 minutes until the blue releasing screen came up. It was very wierd, but very clever.
I watched it twice. I was lying on my bed first time so didn’t work, but was sitting downstairs in chair 2nd time and I got stuck for about 2 mins. My feet were stuck to the floor and I had odd cramps and tense muscles in my legs lol, was a scary 2 minutes!!

First time I watched it, didn’t get stuck but when I tried to get up I felt a weight on the backs of my calves which caused me to fall onto the floor. My mum got completely stuck and it lasted until you brought up the blue screen. V.funny for my Dad watching me. Did it for a second time at my friends house. This time my feet and legs were cemented to the spot (well it felt like it). Had a mini panic and my friend laughed at me (didn’t work on her). She made us watch it a another time and got stuck again (but didn’t panic just annoyed).

Watched the video at home and first time my boyfriend couldn’t get up for about 15 seconds but I stood up instantly and then we watched it on channel 4 +1 and he was fine but I found I took three or four attempts to get up we both felt too heavy to stand and a bit shaky. I am always amazed at Derren Browns knowledge of the human mind to be able to influence people so subtly yet so well, especially some of the audience on the show who were really stuck down!

I wonder if the “subliminal flashes” were just meant as a joke, although they did happen at least three different times and I slowed it down so I could see the black and white illustration of a man tied to a chair with a moustache (Houdini?). The rotating lines video seems to be meaningless apart from the eerie soundtrack; maybe it’s a combination of the two that does the trick for some people… I could feel myself really relaxing and starting to get into a trance like state, but I was probably thinking too much about the picture I’d noticed and I could get up when I really wanted to.
I was stuck not able to even move off the back rest, felt like I was being vacuumed into the chair every time I tried to move and didn’t like it so freaky, Then I had enough and told myself it’s not true and was able to stand, a bit shaky but after a minute or so like normal. all i can say is its amazinggggg!!!!!!
Just watched the repeat today Sunday 20th Sept on BT Vision.
Around halfway into the film I started to feel like my behind was moulded to the seat and my back was a part of the sofa, at the end I was completly stuck. When I tried to move I found that I couldnt even get my hands off my legs until the next set of instructions about remaining calm and when it said lean forward my back released.
With all my strength, as an ex Rugby player I could not raise my behind from the sofa pushing down with my hands I became red in the face and sweating from the effort. As soon as the release was shown I could stand and move freely with no ill effects.
A wonderful Event and I look forward to the next one.

Well what can i say…. amazing i tried this twice and twice it worked… my mate walked up to me and didnt belive me and moved my hand shock it around then let go and my hand stayed where he left if i didnt even gtet the acid burning fealing u get frm my mucels my hole body was frozen except my neck up waz an amazing feeling and stayed like that both times untill the coulered screens said learn forward then my hand droped and i could move Well done Mr Brown!!
funny thing is im the biggest sceptic of all i thought Darren was just another con artist with camora tricks but no my mind has changed now Thank You!!!!!
Didn’t work on me, but I suspect that’s because I was sceptical to begin with. I was also watching a recording (in HD though), if that makes any difference.
I do wonder if this has any similarities to Sleep Paralysis though…
Hmmm just watched it on sky plus with the girlfriend and no joy for either of us. Damn it.
Wish it did work, I so want to believe in this kinda thing. Any suggestions as to how to increase the chances of it working much appreciated.

This had no effect on me, but I was probably less likely to be affected given I’d been reading about various things that are not allowed to be broadcast, and was suspecting a ruse, placing me in the wrong frame of mind.
I think Derren danced around the issue of what can be broadcast perfectly–just enough of each so that no one can accuse him of either, if that makes sense (and if it does you probably know more on the subject than I do).
However, my wife claims to have been firmly attached to her seat. She could lean forward and move her arms, but was visibly struggling and, despite several attempts, she was unable to stand until the blue releasing tone.
During this I questioned if she could move her feet, which she could. She described this as “like having the lower half of my legs stuck in mud, so I can move them but it’s difficult,” and said that upper half of her legs were firmly stuck. She also said that my standing up appeared to increase the effect, as did struggling against it.

I didn’t get stuck and I couldn’t find anyone who did but i do believe people were. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and i felt really heavy and sshaky though
it was really weird..
ok, i watched it like 3 times and it didnt work, i dont know if it was because the lights were on or if i got up too early, but i got up when deeren said to look at the screen and you’ll notice as you get up you’ll get even more stuck. this was just before he told his audience to stand up. but i did notice that as i stood up i saw another subliminal effect??? and at the end of the show he says that there was not any subliminal effects during the show. hmm im confused and i really did want it to work… maybe itll work the fourth time ;]
I know how you done it, as i seen the flash’s you put through out the program and the messages you kept saying….

It was quite difficult to get up. To be honest from a sofa sitting as per Derren’s instructions, unless you shift yourself forward it is usually very difficult to get up , i.e. just by pushing with arms / legs.
It’s had to get up from that position regardless

I felt a bit of panic and fear rising up when the image of the person tied to a chair appeared but as I remained calm the feeling subsided and I wasn’t stuck.It was really entertaining but I felt sorry for Vicky Green on her video.It was enjoyable,thanks.x
