Picture makes me think of a Jeanette Winterson quote:

"They say that every snowflake is different. If that were ture, how could the world go on? How could we ever get up off of our knees? How could we ever recover from the wonder of it?

By forgetting. We cannot keep in mind too many things.
There is only the present and nothing to remember"

Don't know why, aside from the obvious snowflake connection... (but then I am a little drunk...) :) : )

Lets see....snow flakes are frozen, as other things can be. But I might be getting warmer...

The screen wobble was a nice touch. It put me off for a bit.

I knew there was something else behind all his calculations. That is just an explanation Derren likes to give to his audiences...he definitely is hiding something...but what..hmm?

A bit of thought randomness here... but how does anyone know that all snowflakes are totally unique!! Has anyone ever take the time to photograph each and every flake that drops from the sky.... and then to analyse each and everyone!! Like in nature there are always copies.... for example Twins!

I am not so sure that snowflakes are all unique.... as the saying goes..... one in million chances happen more often than you think! :)

I was pretty certain that it was a camera trick because of the jumping ball (pretty strong evidence towards a split screen trick right?) but reading into this has totally confused me. The christmas footage would pretty much prove the rigged machine method, which is why it wasn't aired I'm guessing (rigging the lottery is a probably a serious business) so I'm clinging on to the hope that it really does exist. Camera tricks don't really seem your style and rigging the lottery is a lot more badass. Still, whatever you did, you've got everyone thinking and thats what its all about.

maybe cause the snowflake's a fractal it's got something to do with chaos theory, which is about predicting seemingly random events?

SGC - which Jim Henson puppet would Derren be? Come to think of it I could see him as a taller, less green and better looking Yoda...
"Hmmm stuck to the sofa will you be!"
or maybe this is more his style...
