I’m inclined to agree with John on this:
“I can’t help but find myself thinking…why? Ok, it is impressive to have visited every country in the world but it would make you a nightmare at dinner parties with endless exclamations of: “I’ve been there!”

Impressive and fun it might have been, but he does sound as if he is going to be the very worst kind of “travel bore”.

You know the type, they don’t go on “holiday”, they “travel”, and boast about their experiences roughing it with the “colourful locals” with only a few hundred pounds in their pocket and annoy everyone in Indian restaurants back home by loudly exclaiming in a posh voice, “Of course, you know they don’t really eat food like this in India?”

I hate rich-but-roughing-it travel bores at the best of times, but he must be a nightmare!

This used to be my lifes ambition, but have had to resign myself to the fact I’m unlikely to have the money to do it!
Good for him – I hope he does tell lots of stories and shares his experiences.

As much as this is a remarkable achievement, I can’t help but find myself thinking…why? Ok, it is impressive to have visited every country in the world but it would make you a nightmare at dinner parties with endless exclamations of: “I’ve been there!”
Why start with Holland in the first place? Presumably to get the drug taking and pornography bit out the way? What does he do now? Will he be employed by tourism agencies or will he go back to doing what he did before which seems to be nothing as he had ample time to explore the globe,

Fair play to him and the jealous part of me will subside…in time.
