I have to say, Derren’s recent stuff has been pretty disappointing to me, – still great entertainment – almost to the point that he’s lost me as a fan, but I still absolutely love his old stuff. Whether half of it was trickery or actual psychology, I’m not sure whether I care. It was more the reactions he got from people that I loved.

What is with the ‘omg DB on Xtra Factor’? It’s like he has sold out or something. People, get a life? (although coming from someone that follows DB religiously on Twitter that is rich haha). The panel can be made up of anyone who watches the show so why not someone with a bit of intellect, they always put an intellectual on there, the other week it was Rupert Everett and isn’t everyone here supposed to be DB fans? isn’t this a place to show admiration/respect? Seems for some its just another place to make someone feel s**t. Look what this kind of attitude did to Danyl on X Factor. You was great DB

If Derren enjoys the X-Factor and wants to be a part of it, then who are we to say anything? It’s got nothing to do with us. I, for one, can’t stand Big Brother, but I wouldn’t berate him if he loved the show and wanted to appear on a programme related to it. As it’s Derren, I’d still watch and as always be interested in anything he has to say.
I just wish you’d been on the Xtra Factor more than you were, Derren. It only amounted to a few minutes. Such a shame. But you were, as ever, a joy to watch.

I don’t mind if Derren likes the show – I just cannot stand it when famous rock music such as was on tonight is going to be remembered for the performances by reality stars first and foremost, without anyone giving much attention to the original. Trust me, when you see how annoying remake movies for example take the original’s ‘post’ as the one to be remembered against all else, it’s infuriating.
It does my head in when X-Factor-like shows seem to think they are above everyone else when it comes to music. Honestly.

They just ask you a couple of questions, then we didnt see you.i notic aswel the cameras kepted missing you out on the last part. I cant believe people are getting so worked up about Derren being on xtra factor tonight, what’s the problem with that? He likes the programme and was asked to be on the guest panel (or whatever it’s called), why should he say no? It doesnt take anything away from what he does professionally.
I loved that he was on the panel tonight, he was as cool as ever and did us all proud as always. Shame he wasn’t on for longer.

I’m glad you were on Xtra Factor tonight Derren I never used to watch the show but seems I’m a bit addicted now…. but even if I thought the show was crap, your being on the show would not annoy me it would make me love you more (as it did earlier). I thought you definately did not get enough airtime there should have been more of you and you should have totally hypnotised or Hyptontised that guy while he was doing that stupid dance at the end…..
I think it is silly some people think they can tell you what to do….. you are your own person and we love you for it.

Missed DB’s appearance live so to speak but saw it on the catch up. I think he looks like a total imp. Progs like this are always going to be good for exposure to different audiences, so i think its brilliant that he went on. I would so love to see DB on one of those panel shows like Mock the Week or something. Deffo a thumbs up from me :O)

So many of us who are not in the public eye realize that the press can use their powers of persuasion to influence and destroy someone’s character whenever it suits them. The fact that we (the general public) are now becoming aware of this fact upsets them somewhat, so, they invent or misrepresent a story in order to grab headlines and sell newspapers.
I guess we live in very strange times where the unkind and distasteful things in life i.e. (the Michael Jackson séance) are now somehow considered acceptable. However, not everyone will get ‘hooked in’ and believe that all that ugliness is the way things are supposed to be. Most people can see for themselves that there is still kindness, love, truth and beautiful human beings living on our planet and you Derren are one of them.
