Okay I know we can’t discuss taste, but the whole “reality TV” is rather tasteless in my book.
I think that people watching this (with all due respect) crap, are keeping the whole formula in existence. I do not watch anything that involves texting and voting anymore. I think I will even skip watching the 3rd season of Phenomenon this year in Holland eventhough it is about the thing that I love, mentalism.

Please everybody boycot these shows so that we can have some more interesting intelligent and entertaining stuff on the tube. I vote for more Derren f.i.

However, you must surely have expected people to at least suspect that your appearance was another nation-wide experiment.
Obviously if this was the case, I wouldn’t expect you to admit it, least of all to a stranger, but I have been asked to tell you that if it was a trick, there is a small group of people somewhere in middle England who are onto you.

Not that I particularly anticipate response of any kind (whether direct, blog posting or something more subtle), but many of my friends have raised the hypothesis that your appearance on the Xtra-factor was in fact you “getting upto your usual tricks” to quote one of them in particular. We were indeed most surprised to find out you were a fan, that is not to say we do not enjoy the show, in fact many of our weekends are spent crammed into a rather distressed Sofa.
