The sand moving over the spot was a bit strange, hard to put your finger down on exactly what happened there. Interesting!
I’ve seen similar reactions from corals and anemones in my reef aquariums, and would be surprised if it was anything else.
Its probably an animals lure or some kind of coral that filters stuff and whips back in if touched by something larger and dumber, like a scuba diver.
Okay, now I’m worried that plants don’t want to be eaten and do in fact feel pain… Unless it’s aware that it’s extremely rare and must survive, why would it otherwise hide..? Oh no, I’m going to starve to death. I can hear the cabbages screaaaaaaaaaam!

which shows a similiar behavior (retracing upon touch).
I don’t know whether the plant shown in this video is a spirobranchus giganteus (it does only vaguely look similiar)
