“Looks like a real nice late 19th century painting, doesn’t it? But in reality, it’s a real girl wearing body-paint, and standing against a painted background.
‘Makeup Girl‘ is a very clever advertisement spotted, and photographed by Peter Kun Frary, in front of a MAC cosmetics shop, in Hawaii. The girl is a really well painted model, posing against a painted background. Now, you might think she’s naked, but she is wearing strips of cloth in all the right places.”

Wow, that is impressive.
brilliant
I paint better…
OMG!
I thought that was a painting! Wowsa!!!
Upon closer inspection, it is obvious that shes a real person. But from afar, its almost undetectable. The giveaway, is her chest area, where we can see she is wearing a bikini or bra, thats painted to camoflage. Her straps are the 2 lines that run up her shoulders and down.
Spectacular work. Great illusion.
Oh how clever. You can see her eyes and hair are untouched. Such a good use of colour and lighting to get a wonderful effect. Bravo!
It is clever but it doesn’t move me.
very inneresting…quite the opposite of those works where people (usually women) are painted to disappear into their surroundings, like veruschka used to do. (btw, this blog spell checker even knows the word “veruschka”!
) here is her recent work: http://www.veruschkaselfportraits.com/
more traditional, & striking, body art from a very talented painter in oregon can be seen here: http://www.jeffegli.com/body-painter.html
RE: Sean; If it doesn’t move you, why bother to comment? I never understand ppl who waste time on things they purport not to be interested in! I Think most ppl will agree it’s a good trick, and i for one fell for it, I assumed it was a painting, it’s only on closer inspection (having been told it isn’t lol) you realise!
And Catastrophy, it’s completely irrelevant how well you paint, a lot of people can paint better obviously, that’s not the point, it’s an illusion, a trick, your meant to be intrigued, amused, or impressed (or perhaps unmoved like Sean the pillar of salt lol)
Reminiscent of an episode of Arrested Development. Bravo, madam. Bravo.
Creepy!
At first, I thought it was just her head looking through a hole in the painted background, but the whole thing is her!
Very realistic, but if you look closely, you can see she’s wearing a bikini under the paint. Reminds me of the street performers in Rome who dress up as statues (My sister took some pictures of them when she was there. So realistic, they’re quite creepy!)
Thanks @roz for the link from my phone to an adult site (jeffegli) the other didn’t work either! As for the painting here I see the quirky abstract facial expression hypnotic.
What I meant to comment on were her breasts. If she is wearing a bra it must be a halterneck but going by the lack of support I think the woman is without. And what’s with her eyes¿
With software you can do anything to pictures, which has been done here for sure, otherwise it would have been a bodypainted girl. I’m not that impressed or in favor of this stuff I have to stay, it takes the best out of both arts (bodypainting, painting and photography). Maybe it is a cover up .. so the ‘artist’s’ own make up so to speak .. I don’t like this type of paintings either. A bit shallow, simple.
Ugly neck and underchin btw .. the bodypaint was there not without reason I guess .. hahaha ..
Wow, that’s incredible! Just looking at her face , I still wouldn’t be able to tell.
worked fine fer me, spider. get a new phone service provider. and if you think that’s an “adult” site, i guess you”d like this story:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100224/ap_on_fe_st/us_odd_puppet_cleavage
they both worked fine for me, spider. may i suggest you find a real cellphone service provider? and that’s an art site, not an “adult” site…or maybe you arent an adult?
I just saw something like this on TV (maybe 60 minutes) last night. The artist said he has 60 models all waiting to be painted by him. They were brilliant!
