Well, I live in California and when DST is in effect, it gets dark around 6:35pm and sunrise is 7:25am. What I hate about DST is that I have to get up a 6:00am and its still dark outside! Before DST begun, 6am was already begining to sunrise. I wish we can just get rid of DST because it is just a waste of energy. I would love to keep it standard time all the time. I enjoy the late sunrise and the early sunset.

I think Daylight saving is not good because if you don't have a clock in your roo, you probably wake up and see if it is sunny or still dark. If it is still dark, you will do to sleep again but what if the time is relly the time you have to wake up........

I assume people dont like the changes, not the actual DST. Mid-summer would be crap were it bright only until 9 pm only. The reason to switch back in the Winter is to get more light in the morning, since people will be coming home in the dark anyway. That also makes sense.

Me I would be happy with double DST - we could start a game of golf at 9pm mid-summer.

Lots of vocal people dont like DST, but would miss it were it gone. BTW it definitely saves energy, outside the US, that was the rational for introducing it during the war ( and double DST was used). By next week I will have an hour of light after work, and increasing until June. Rock on.

During the winter it's GMT.

Why, if it's all about providing extra light in the Winter, do we move the clock for the Summer?

I live in Indiana. This is flawed. The 15 counties that did DLS are near to Chicago, and are Central time zone. The majority of the new time DLS users are now Eastern time zone, and are an hour ahead. Take a look at a map of Indiana - it is NOT that big. Most people believe we should be in the Central time zone - for example, the sun did not rise today until nearly 8:00 in the morning. In the summer, it will not set until past 22:00 on some nights. NO WONDER THERE IS A PROBLEM.
