If this was developed by UK and Germany why does it say "0.00004 inches high by 0.00005 inches" because we measure everything in Metric.

Sounds fishy to me!

My question has a more practical application than just being sneaky.

If they can bend visible light around an object, can they also bend other wavelengths of light? If they can, then there is a huge potential for space flight. Radiation shielding is a huge problem for any astronauts who want to travel beyond the Earths magnetic field. If they could simply bend the radiation around the ship, that would solve many of the problems of space flight.

Scientists have been working on this for quite a while. Here's a cool video for those who haven't seen it yet:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKPVQal851U

Definitely far better than any current camouflage!

So the 'invisibility cloak' so far only works on two dimensional objects, eh?...

"Are you sure you want to do this, Harry?"
"Oh, come on, it's my life-long dream to be invisible! Now run me over with that steam roller!"

'Hey - i've invented an invisibility cloak - and I'm holding it in my hand'
'But, i can't see anything.'
'See, I told you!'

Two things concern me slightly: The size of the bump... and the fact that they only 'almost' made it invisible. That aside though, I'm sure it's an incredible breakthrough.
