At 2:51 mins. i start to wonder : \’who are the ants?\’
This is absolutely stunning. The original architecs of the under world! Wouldn’t be surprise if we start seeing building like this appearing on land!
Beautiful!
Amazing! Although at 0:55 I did momentarily think “Shiiiit!! They’ve built machines!”
wow, very impressive.
not sure how the ants deserved to be murdered with concrete tho…humans have a strange way of showing appreciation.
So that’s why the slabs in my garden sink a little each summer, the ants have already arrived.
It’s like a giant neuron. Beautiful in a strange way too.
Found a longer version of this on youtube, has about 3 minutes ahead and about 30 seconds after the part shown above. Anyone got any idea what show/episode this is from, wouldn’t mind downloading to watch the whole episode..

It’s a nice analogy of why parallel computing can be so powerful for certain applications.
Hmmm…I’ve no doubt that ants are amazing (like bees, they are essential for life on earth,) but are we sure this is real? Parts of it looked kind of computer generated to me. But maybe that’s just the quality of the camera work.
If it is real, however, I agree with Al…It’s absolutely amazing, but a complete waste if they had to kill off the colony who built the tunnels we’re supposed to be marveling at.
wow wow wow wow wow made my heart melt.
Pretty sure they are termites, not ants!
Great insight nonetheless.
Fools ! This is an elaborate hoax. Ants cannot do this, obviously.
Meh.
Also – Years of watching Monty Python as a child has now made it impossible for me to tell if I’m supposed to take this seriously or not.
I welcome our beneficent ant overlords!
Phase IV anyone?
I imagine that will go down in ant history as the Pompeii of ants! Very interesting though

the clip is from “Ants – Nature’s Secret Power”
full version here, along with MANY other documentaries! [quite the rabbit hole]:

Josh, I know what you mean.
When it panned back over the excavation pit, I expected to see a miniature Manhattan or some otherwise amusing ant city.
This is a clip from a wildlife program called Ants: Nature’s Secret Power, it’s definately real, it’s won a lot of wildlife awards, and the ant hill was abandoned aready, no ants died, well probably one or two did but the colony was not in there!
