A 101-year-old woman in China has baffled doctors after growing a huge goat-like horn on her forehead.
Zhang Ruifang claims the growth first appeared only last year and has since expanded to be more than 6cm long. Now her family in Linlou, Henan province, are concerned about a second mark on the other side of her forehead.
“[At first] we didn’t pay too much attention to it,” said Mrs Zhang’s youngest son Zhang Guozheng. ”Now something is also growing on the right side of her forehead — it’s quite possible that it’s another horn.”

Hardly a news story. It looks like a keratin horn. Pretty common lesions – though hers is bigger than usual – but probably only because of neglect.
They are probably using barefoot doctor herbal mumbo jumbo on it…. what it really needs is for it to be cut out as there may be a squamous cell carcinoma at its base.

Precisely. Also known as ‘cutaneous horns’. I do some work in archiving and conservation for a pathology and anatomy museum and we have a big curly one in a jar sitting across from my desk. Was looking at it today. Also I once scanned a photograph of a Victorian black guy with one the size of a fucking toucan’s beak growing from the side of his head. Poor fellow.
