“The poll questioned 23,000 adults in 22 countries and found that more than 40 per cent of people from India and China believe that alien life exists with a human facade on this planet.
European respondents in the survey were more sceptical with only eight per cent of people from Belgium, Sweden and the Netherlands convinced that life from outer space exists on earth.
Men were more likely to believe in extra-terrestrial life than women with 22 per cent convinced compared to 17 per cent of women.”

We seek understanding to explain the mystery that surrounds us, yet each new level of scientific enlightenment opens up a new mystery at a new order of magnitude.
We then fill the unexplored space in our knowledge with ‘the monster from the id’, cerebral vomitus, brain crap, our fears and hopes and fantasies. Our gods, demons and aliens.
If we spread across the galaxy in the far future, our descendents (knowing all the intricate details of space and time, having visited the wonders of the universe) even then will probably fill the (still vast) remaining emptiness with their fantasies, their aliens, their demons, their gods.
There will always be space for the irrational.
As individuals, we are not really that rational.
Not in groups either.
Hooray for us!
Humans are crazy, man.
“Men were more likely to believe in extra-terrestrial life than women with 22 per cent convinced compared to 17 per cent of women.” This is probably because men believe the women are the aliens!
Maybe that is because we grew up watching Programmes such as The Invaders, Twilight Zone and X-files where aliens and strange beasts were amongst us.
haha. Stranger things have happened. I think I’m an alien sometimes. lmao
Funny that because my mum is convinced you’re an alien Derren… honest, she does!
it really wouldn’t suprise me at all.
anyone ever wondered if world leaders etc are aliens??? it has been something that i have been considering more and more recently. surely if they have travelled from another star system to get here then they can fool us as to who they really are. themselves and their friends (world business leaders) could live lives of luxury while we work our backsides off for them and they drain the planet of its resources.
if they are not amungst us, then in my opinion they have definitely visited us many times before. even if out of all the millions of abduction claims and sightings only one of them is true then that is enough to prove that they exist.
its probably the biggest discovery ever made but i dont believe that the vast majority of people could handle it.
…aaaand the comments section dissolves into something worthy of David Icke.
Gordon Brown, Andrew Lloyd-Webber? As for Derren being an ET… The phrase “who ever smelt it, delt it” comes to mind. Although I would welcome Derren to our planet anytime. It’s his dodgy mates Gordon and Andrew I’m concerned about.
gort! klaatu barada nikto!
Perhaps aliens don’t know that they are aliens. If we came from somewhere else, way back, then we all are aliens, mutants (well, we are mutants acc. to scientists for sure).
We might have taken over this race that is still inside of ourselves .. you can’t denie that there is two systems inside of yourself.
What, brain halves? Nah …
Where do we go in the middle of the night .. it’s just the incubator, the species we took over that is left there in our bed … where do we go???? (eheheh ..).
These comments have cheered me up so much I think I’ll watch the movie Contact again (the thinking man’s ET!)
As we’re only getting the supposed results of this survey, it could be complete twaddle. What were the actual questions asked? Do that many Indians and Chinese /really/ believe we’ve been infiltrated by intelligent alien doppelgangers? Seems unlikely. On the other hand, the possibility that life on earth was partly seeded by extra-terrestrial microbes (or perhaps just organic matter from comets etc.) is a scientific hypothesis currently being given serious attention. We know for a fact that rocks originally from the moon and Mars can make it to the Earth’s surface. But it seems equally unlikely that 40% of Indians and Chinese are aware of this research. So, what were the damn questions in this survey?? Sensible, twaddle, or merely leading questions subject to cultural (mis)interpretation?
I would be in the % that do believe in ET’s but I get the suspicion too many people have seen Independence Day with Will Smith.
IMO – If they exist, I doubt they would have a “human form”. Like everything, before you “land” on a planet you send robots (satellites) to the area first to scan it, exactly what we do.
You just don’t dump down on a planet aka Star Trek style.
I remember watching ITV several years ago, and on camera they had a huge cylindrical item flying through the air, and it was explained as a “shadow” by so called experts. It was quite interesting, especially since ITV was broadcasting it on the News.
I’ve never been surveyed for something like this, but if I were I would probably lie.
Watch (or read) John Carpenters’ “They Live”…….. that’s all I have to say!
If we spread across the galaxy in the far future, our descendents (knowing all the intricate details of space and time, having visited the wonders of the universe) even then will probably fill the (still vast) remaining emptiness with their fantasies, their aliens, their demons, their gods.
If they have come to earth then they left pretty quickly I would imagine. They’ll decide to come back in a couple of hundred years to see if we have grown up yet or are will still all brats fighting amongst ourselves for the best toys. If we are from their creation I bet they are sooo proud.
