Ah, I’ve just come…
I’d love for Derren to interview John Edward. Went to see one of his shows and I just couldn’t figure out how he’d know certain things (beyond just being general or relying on chance). It has bothered me every since!
This looks really good, will make interesting viewing especially off the success of paranormal activity.
Oh how exciting, As much as I adore Derren i’d never deny the supernatural so will beiteresting if Derren actually sees something to sway him from being completely skeptic.
Oh yes to ther power of a million, cannot wait for that!

That looks like its going to be awesome. Although I’m willing to bet all these people claiming to have paranormal powers have a set of convenient excuses lined up to explain why it doesn’t work when Derrens there.

I’m a long time believer in ghosties and ghoulies, but my conviction has started to wobble recently, so I’m really interested to see what you observed. I’ve never experienced anything I’d describe as paranormal, just had a vague belief that when we die, that surely can’t be *it* (like a great many people, I suppose). I did see a medium a few years ago. He clutched my car keys mystically and spectacularly failed to divine that I was 7 months pregnant. (“I sense a great change in your life… Are you about to get married?” But he recovered well by telling me I looked like Angelina Jolie, so fair play to him.) But he must just have been one of the nasty charlatan ones; I’m still not quite convinced that *all* of them are fakes.
But anyway, yes, looks like a great bit of telly!

I’m a big fan of debunking the fraudsters but even though I know they’ve been misleading their “customers” about intimate details of their loved ones I can’t help but feel slightly sorry for them.
I can see it’s going to be painful to watch when they are revealed to be complete fakes.
Anyone else think the line “You’re son was murdered, but he’s fine” slightly funny?

I don’t suppose this can be applied to the idea of the spirit world?
I’m currently in Tokyo, Japan and I think a lot of the paranormal is really down to how the individual perceives their understanding of the concept. Here Shintoism and Buddhism are the reigning religions, though not followed devoutly I think it’s visible in daily life. You could even say you become more spiritual just by setting foot in Tokyo even though it’s probably one of the most significantly technologically advanced cities on the planet.
I kind of wish I was back in London so I could watch some more of your shows. They’ve always been pretty epic in my household, my siblings and I used to try and see if we’d fall for the subliminal messages. But apparently we’re not quite up to scratch in believing in your mind~♪

I do believe in some paranormal stuff like some apparitions. I do think some people can be contacted by spirits but not all. I do think most mediums are fake mostly those who do it as a living. The only people who should earn a living by working with dead people are morticians.

Ah, this looks excellent! I first heard about this show back in June of last year, when I spoke to Joe Power on the streets of Liverpool. Joe is the bald-headed, scouse psychic in the first half of the clip. He’s also a deeply unpleasant man, who reacted to being asked about his abilities by telling me that ‘all skeptics are sick in the head, exactly like paedophiles’. Good old Joe Power.

Firstly Hi, seen Derren @ alexandra in birminham yesterday evening. Amazing to say the least, fulfilled my expectations and then some. Almost caught me a frisbee too!!! I doubt Derek Acorah agreeing to do anything with Derren, read Tricks of the mind to see why! This new show don’t appeal to me as much as others but I’m hoping it ain’t all about others and Derren gets involved. Will still watch none-the-less. Shame about the girl who couldn’t tell the time!!!
Looks like its gonna be a really “poweful “show , maybe it should be a pay per view event or would that just be expoitation .

the thing that irritates me with all these programmes is blatent bias !!!! lets ridicule what we really dont know!! it makes for good tv !!! after all these people with so called medium abilities deserve it dont they !!! they lead people on make vast amount of money !!! NO the genuine ones dont !!! in a lot of cases they help grieving people for basically next to nothing but its good to demonise isnt it !!! still the program hasnt been aired yet perhaps my assumptions are premature !!! however my gut instinct { oops am i mediumistic } says it will come down in favour of the sceptic!!!!!!
Geoff, it worries me that you sort of showed a bit of that bias youself in your message. First, you assumed that Derren would himself be “biased against” those claiming to be mediums. Secondly, you then assumed that not only are there real mediums out there but that the “best” ones would either not be found by Derren’s team or would be making nothing out of it.
Well, Geoff, first off Derren is rather well-known for having an open mind but also being smart enough to identify the fakes and at the same time to demonstrate how the fake was carried out. Secondly, you offer, in effect, another claim that such things are real – but you deny that the evidence for it can be found by someone with an open mind. You as much as admit that you need to “believe” in order to see the “truth”.

An investigation of psychics by one of the greatest (currently) amongst them! Well it takes one to know one doesn’t it Derren…? Your powers of sorcery are quite something – I liked the modesty in “failing” that casino episode! Either way – all very entertaining – I guess the time is right for this sort of thing – again.
why not do sally morgan instead of some unheard of chancer.
she would have had his head spinning. if your going to do a show that promises so much at least give the opposition the chance of a balanced argument that poor scoucer had no chance agains derran,
sally morgan would have made a much better program and would have at least challenged peoples perceptions,
I couldn’t believe any ‘medium’ would allow Derren to investigate them, a genius vs a fake… so laughable. Attempting to lie to Derren, how foolish! Tonights show turned out exactly as i expected, thankfully. Of course you can’t communicate with the dead, the evidence would be so much clearer if you could. Maybe as Derren suggested it’s not all bad if someone feels better after a reading, but like accupuncture or ‘healing hands’, anyone with half a brain knows its crap, but if it works for you, so be it… you fool!

I’ve just watched the ‘The Man Who Could Contact The Dead’ and I noticed that on both the occasions that Joe would immediately go to the toilet first… Maybe to snoop around in the bedrooms!!!
