This five-story, blood-red waterfall which pours out of the Taylor Glacier located in Antarctica’s McMurdo Dry Valleys was first discovered back in 1911. Originally they thought the red color was algal reaction but it turned out to be much more interesting.

Looks like a chocolate sundae to me!
That is not red I’d say, brownish/orange. I observed a few spots here with that colour as well (canal, small pools with fallen leaves in them (willow). Must be pretty weird stumbling upon a glacier of that colour.
It reminds me a bit of a painting of Van Gogh, a farmer in a field. Although my memory may not be correct. I remembered Brown on his picture he sent us this morning with a light jacket .. but that was not the case either when I rechecked (to check the suitcase one more time .. the suitcase was indeed a not so common one .. ).
Eww….
This uncomfortably reminds me of the Andromeda strain. Completely unknown germs come in to contact with humans for the first time=we are screwed:(
“Godzilla! What have i told you about curry before bed time? Bad dinosaur….”
This blog is currently becoming one of my sources for story idea generation
Thanks guys

More fuel for the nutters –
“Sky as black as sackcloth” = volcano
“Rivers of blood” = Glacial bacterial colonies
“The antichrist will come and claim that religion is false, while demonstrating magical powers and cheating death” – Derren Victor Brown?
He he he just my little joke. Or it would be a joke if so many did not think it was truth. I have honestly heard people of faith claiming each of those things, including the bit about Derren.
The bit about Derren I heard in a psychiatric unit from a delusional individual who had a strong faith that ultimately brought them to madness.
