Love it.
My toddlers are the best audience, especially with the ‘removing the end of my thumb’ routine.
“No, daddy, don’t, aaargh!”
They also keep turning away, which hides my (mediocre but improving) card sleights easily, although it kills the magic.
“Look, go on, look at daddy, see, it changed!”
“Oh, you don\’t care. Okay. Watch Cbeebies instead.”
I tried to make them walk on broken glass too, but my wife stopped me. (obv a joke…?)

Toddlers? Don’t you mean those that temporarily did not get looked after by their own superior self?
Not that it really matters. Toddlers are so not on yet with tricks .. keep staring at you .. the performer … no response .. only now and then .. and they dump you just as fast for the next volunteering person in the cue …
You will need to work your ass for sure with those superior small ones .. They can make a full grown person blush .. If it doesn’t serve them in that moment .. you’re gone .. flushed …

I always try to stare them down ….. who laughs first .. Best I do are my facial tricks .. that startles them for a sec …

Thanks to Derren and the crew for a really fabulous evening yesterday at Liverpool Empire, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and recommend it to anyone who hasn’t been yet.
I got my “Pure Effect” book signed at last and Derren was just as charming and approachable as he dished out the autographs, what a star!
My hard-to-impress flatmate is now a DB convert, and that takes some doing!
