Lou Gentile was my father, he had cancer for about a year before he filmed with Derren and his crew.. We Shot this on October 13, 2008 and he died that June 28, 2009.. I want you all to know that my father was very logical and told the people if it was something paranormal or not.. He was an amazing man, respectful, and helpful to everyone.. He was down to earth.. One thing everyone should know is that he was nothing like the fools on TV today where if they hear something its automatically a ghost, that’s BS!

Have recently been working my way through all of Derrens shows on Channel 4OD. Having a particular interest within the paranormal made for the investigation series being even better for me. Sadly, like Derren, I find no solid proof of anything in the audio or visual material that Lou provided. There is far too many other external alternative explanations. I conclude that it’s as real as we let it be. “Reality is just a matter of perception” is the statement that comes to mind; this is particularly clear to see where Derren points out a parrot, slug, staircase and 2nd face in the image where Lou said it’s clear proof of a spirit.

Keep up the good work, Derren!

Sleep paralisys, ha. Happened to me several times. It lasts for only few seconds. Could be scary if you don’t know what it is though. But – without sleep paralisys people would be all sleepwalkers.

Sorry but I am not convinced that anyone has psychic abilities. Mental illness probably.

We need more programs like this.

I think out of all the paranormal evidence people have EVP is the most interesting. Have you heard of that guy who invented the Spiricom machine or something like that? He actually talked with what he thought was dead people live and in real time! It was hilarious. But there are EVP that I have heard, which if they are truly, made without tampering, then it would be pretty strange. I myself dont believe in ghosts or such things. But only EVP has ever made me consider it……

I noticed that the sound expert had a cat too (you could see it slinking under the table during their talk), but Derren didn’t sneeze Great series. RIP Lou, he seemed like a decent guy unlike the others.

Enjoyed this episode, it really gave me the creeps up to a point. I had genuine sympathy for Lou, as unlike the other two bastards featured in this series, he wasn’t out to con anyone, or attempt to cash in on another persons misery. This Guy actually worked for free. Such a shame he was so misguided, but this is what happens when you devote your life to subjects that are scientifically unproven and probably unreal. A lot of credit must go to Derren for the modest way in which he presented his evidence, as it was quite clear that he could have picked Lou off at will in the end, yet he chose not to, the sign of a true proffessional and expert. Very sad to hear of Lou’s passing, many condolences to his wife and Children.

Joe Power is a t*^t – no question! Lou was a nice guy and I have nothing but the deepest respect for him. In a world where people are motivated by money – I think Lou was a gem (albeit a slightly mis-guided one). All he wanted to do was help people and I”m sure he helped many. God bless you Lou and your family. It’s a tragic loss for humanity.

P.S. Can an atheist say ‘God bless’?! Never mind – I just did, and I mean it sincerely.

Lou seemed like a really nice guy, just deluded in his belifes and actually belived he was working with ghosts, and at least he wasnt charging people like Joe who just seemed to be taking advantage of those who had lost someone. A great series Derren, keep up the good work! x
