Working with anxious and depressed clients they were often very creative in their past but stopped at some point which seemed to lead to a lack of fulfillment. Some clients dreams of working in their creative field are not happening in some way, maybe due to lack of confidence and this has also created anxiety and depression.

~
Now, how many times must you prove you're an angel?
How many more demons do you have to strangle?
How much longer must you remain in this dream?
Before I finally figure out if you're insane or a genius?

In my experience those who are given a label of schizophrenia are often very creative (I've never understood the notion of 'poverty of thought') alas the problem seems to be an inability to do something with the creativity - from organising thoughts/ ideas to translating them into action towards practical goals. Or put another way, produce something consistently understandable and meaningful to others.

I think anyone who tries to live and think within the box ends up making them self ill. We are not designed for that. It's only society and this invisible rule book that tells us how to live.

I think we are all creative just some express it easier then others.

If every one could spend 24 hours without any consequence of their actions I bet their day and thought process would be a lot different to the normal 'robotic' day.

I say do what you want when ever you want to.

good luck

That explains a lot in my family. Lots of us on my mum's side are extremely creative but suffer from various degrees of mental illness. I get terrible depression when I can't make stuff!

Hmm. So are the ones doing the analysing creative? I guess not because that would imply that they could be mentally ill. Does that mean that science and scientific experiments are thought of as 'thinking In the box'. I have the phrase 'NUTTY PROFESSOR' going through my mind. I personally like to look at the 'BIG PICTURE' and find that the people doing the psycho analysing could benefit from creativity lessons.

But just as many creative people show no such brain. It's ofcourse a focus, all this type of research and then it seems to show something that is not really there. Schizophrenia is not just one type of brain ...

People can learn to trigger their mind in various states, and do learn, after birth. So I'd recommend some of those scientist to start triggering various states within theirselves ... it will or may answer many questions.

Not very usefull research in my opinion.
