Beautifully shot video. But silly cow here who has a fear of water, deep, shallow or otherwise STILL watched it (despite the warning) and I felt like I was suffocating. Best bit was when he broke the water’s surface at the end, I felt like I was gulping the air along with him! LOL
Ok seriously this is awesome, but…is it real? where’s the fish or plants? can you really go down that fast? I know nothing about diving but it’s looked CLASS!
OH MY GOD yes. If my husband and I take the family fishing I am PARANOID about them going too near the edge .. Mark can’t even park near deep water as I’m convinced that we are going to end up in the car underwater and dead! I am on edge the whole time! I’ve even been known to cry and scream at the kids to get away from the edge when they aren’t even near the edge, as I am afraid they will somehow trip and go in. I am officially a saddo! Lol
I felt like I was suffocating watching this, it made me feel so claustrophobic and I just don’ t know how they do something like that! During a PADI diving course I failed big time as I couldn’t even take my mask off underwater let alone not even have a tank! Agree with other comments though – beautifully shot just quite uncomfortable to watch!
This is just out of earth. Beautifully made video. Watching this I couldn’t help myself, but to think that diving is like flying in a way and being under water is like walking in a planet with lower than eath’s gravity (something like walking in the Moon). So now, in order to experience that, which I would like, I have to learn how to dive very well (with proper equipment) or go to the moon…
I only had to wonder how he was able to go so deep without readjusting the pressure in his ears. Maybe they edited those parts out? Thanks for sharing, Phyllis!
Hideous ,just the thought makes me sweat, since childhood have not been able to look into deep water or open eyes under water, don’t know why.
Quite nice to watch but glad it was him and not me

But as I said, a wonderfully shot video.

That’s simply astonishing in so many ways! Thanks Derren for sharing that!
Is this an advert for Sony Ericsson?

I base jump from time to time, but I scuba dive more now. This was fascinating.
All kinds of scary but awesome! Love it!
I don’t fear deep water, but watching anything like this leaves me feeling breathless! Still, beautifully shot video.
Wow, this video is just insane, haha. Good work finding this Derren
Wow, amazing. Sony ericsson are a great company, i think this is what its advertising!
WOW That is a really incredible free dive.
David Blaine can’t beat this film’s aesthetic
Excellent use of Archive\’s \’You Make Me Feel\’!
He did that all on one breath? Astonishing!
omg how deep is that ?
Wow!
I didn’t listen to the warning and watched anyway. Yeah this made my blood run cold.
Stunning! as I sit here almost hyperventilating……… shudder. Cheers for that!
the red eyed knarly toothed 500ft monster eel , which i’m convinced I saw in the really dark bit just to the side as he was diving would put me off.
Awsome!
thats the most best thing i seen in ages

Astonishing – free diving to a depth of 202 metres. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean%27s_Blue_Hole
Both Nery and Gautier have awesome breath-holding abilities!
chest pain from the feeling of suffocation, look white as a sheet from the total anxiety this engendered. Totally beautiful though, incredible!!!
I’m terrified of water.
I cant even swim.
Even water that goes up to my waist, i cant breath and go into a spaz.

That was terrifying, absolutely terrifying.
Woooowwww.

holey moley!
Oh, that was fabulous; very hypnotic and surreal.

Loved it. As a scuba diver I’d love to dive somewhere like that, but no chance I’d try it free-diving.
@Stephen, he didn’t hit the *very* bottom of 202m as that is way past the CNF (constant weight, without fins) record of 90m.
Oh to have that much control… Don’t do a Houdini, Derren, please… I can feel you edging towards it… But I won’t be watching.
Terrifyingly beautiful!
What a beautiful video. Amazing.
Having almost drowned as a child, deep water is a little scary to me but I found this strangely calming.
