Quote: "Why do the years go from 1000BC to 1000AD to 1AD? Revised chart please…"

The author of the chart is in denial that Jesus Christ was born- another knucklehead. How can we believe any of this bs

OK... They say that the population will suddenly go up and we won't be able to handle it and, not meaning to be depressing, but people die all of the time don't they so won't that balance it out? ...I'm confused!

I think it's a very dark scenario and that it's far from the actual truth.

I do agree with him that stringent population control needs to be put on the world. It's ridiculously egocentric for people to push out 3 or more puppies.
I do believe we are better of having a worldwide cap on children. Here in the Western World you will lose child support after your 2nd child, all forms of family subsidies will cease when you over stretch that cap of 2 kids.

The worst is getting control on those 2nd and 3rd world child factories. They need to get through their skull that you do not need to crank out babies anymore because they do survive passed the age of 13 where they didn't 20-30 years ago. It's those areas that over populate the most.

It`s really sad to admit this, but I tend to believe the pessimistic predictions of this scientist. It seems that it`s really too late to do something. But at least we should definitely try to stop this process..

Well, this is all true perhaps. It is a 100% certainty that humans will become extinct on this planet in the future, but 100 years seems pretty soon (especially since it would proposably happen over the same timespan as Prof Frank Fenners age now). The human population explosion along with our huge need for
resources and complacency towards sustainable
change in society (not to mention the rapidly developing third world) will undoubtably see our species and many others run into serious trouble on the near future. I can see the comprison with
Easter Island, but there is one difference that
stands out to me; this is one of our technological and scientific advancement. Do we have (or will we have) capabilities in the future to save our species??
