“In January of 2002,” writes the neuroscientist Oliver Sacks, “I received a letter from Howard Engel, a Canadian novelist describing a strange problem.” Engel’s problem was so strange, I decided to create a short video to let you see his story. Our narrator and animator is San Francisco artist Lev Yilmaz.

HAHAHA! That was fantastic. Had a hint of Andy Nyman humour there, thank you!
The background mystery music is great.
Very informative at the same time.
Sounds very similar to the problems my grandfather now has after suffering a stroke last year. He cannot recognise writing, but if he really concentrates on one letter at a time, he can eventually put together the letters and decipher the words. Reading is painfully slow!
Oliver Sacks is one groovy dude! Full of mysterious anecdotes

Amazing! I admire his perseverance.
