This is a demonstration of the Honda ASIMO robot’s features, including running, balancing, kicking a ball and climbing stairs. Quite amazing.
With 2000′s ASIMO model Honda added features that enable ASIMO to interact better with humans. These features fall under 5 categories:
1. Recognition of moving objects
2. Recognition of postures and gestures
3. Environment recognition
4. Distinguishing sounds
5. Facial recognition

He still walks like he’s had an accident in his trouser area.
…once it moves ten times faster, has a variety of bladed weapons, and survives on human blood it won’t seem so funny! Of course until then, we get to watch this kinda thing:

Awesome! I want one!
The format of this (read: the woman) is so annnoying. ASIMO is amazing, though.
Hmmm, while Asimo IS amazing, this display is way too rehearsed. It needs more ‘random’ elements to show the robot adapting moment to moment.
That is so incredible. They have really improved it. Look at how expressive the hands are!
I’ve been following the Asimo line of robots since their first inception, and they’re incredible.
However, that woman was unbelievably annoying, and the attribution of any form of emotion (Asimo can have fun!!11!1) is stupidly misplaced.
nice 1:piece 1:2:(of theatre)
I agree that the women was trying way to hard to be funny just have to switch off to her. But Asimo is just incredible they have advanced a long way since the first one. I wonder how they picked the voice?
If you are in Disneyland in Anaheim, California, you can witness this yourself in the upper level of the Innoventions Building in Tomorrowland, where they have periodic demonstrations throughout the day.
I first saw ASMIO live in Phuket more than 5 years ago, where he did what he is doing in the video. I think he is a lot smoother now than 5 years ago, quicker reactions and even more talented.
Well done Honda. I look forward to the production model
I don’t believe it.
There’s obviously some diminutive Honda employee in there.
lol @ Dan – i was thinking something similar.
I can’t wait to see Asimo becoming like R Daneel!!!
I dream to have one too!
