ugh. While he is quite eloquent, he is sadly wrong. He is wrong about Galileo, wrong about Jesus, wrong about the Church and the interpretation of scriptures. Oh well. Even though he didn’t make any arguments, he sounds nice.

Leo, your oganisation, your cult, is immensely evil in it’s teachings, horrifically cruel and judgemental in it’s application of them, and has a history of bending over backwards to move with the zeitgeist of morality and slowly accepting scientific truthes. There is absolutely nothing that absolves this organisation. It does some good things? Great, name one GOOD thing it can do, that can not be achieved by purely secular means?

We can go feed and look after starving people without shoving a bloody cult down their throats, thank you very much.

leo. You support an organisation that defends and protects pedophiles, tells dying africans that condoms are causing aids and that is obsessed with sex.

Just like your God. It’s bloody incredible that we, in the 20th Century, still have to put up with huge cults of people who believe a deity that is less moral than Hitler’s evil twin. Your deity is obsessed with sex and violence. Homophobia, male chauvinism, genocide. And then you guys make out that all that old testament stuff is either the old covenant or it’s metaophorical. But the worst stuff comes from Jesus. Vicarious redemption? What a terrible, evil idea. Eternal punishment? Eternal punishment is eternally unjust.

You actually, actively believe that a good person will burn forever for not having faith, another terrible idea.

to continue, stephen mentioned how perverse in not fulfilling sexual destiny monks and nuns and the clergy are, he clearly hasn’t read up on the priesthood properly, and i think a dictionary may be in order, look up Vocation! this should help you understand exactly what becoming a priest is about, it isn’t choosing, you just know, i know people who have gone to apply to seminar, been told, your only 19, make sure that this is what God wants, even when we have a shortage of priests, the catholic church are making sure that only those who know what there vocation is, Vocation being calling or as stephen puts it, destiny. that is not to say that priests are better than the laity, again not true, very few people are under this misinterpretation of the clergy, each vocation is equally important

Gabby, you havn’t got the point in Genesis, it is not a factual book in the bible. it was written thousands of years be fore christ. Personally, i think you should all leave the theology to the theologians who actually have a clue bout anything. as a catholic myself, i know what is right and wrong, scratch that, it is by being human that i have morals. A man made virus, exactly, caused by sin. You have children? take this as an example, you child breaks a rule you have set, does it then make it ok to break other GOD GIVEN LAWS as a result, ok, put it another way, you rob a bank, and to get away you shoot someone, then as a result of that, you shoot some one else to get a way. the whole thing gets worse. do you really think that all catholics are like awww what’s the pope said today? NO!

Meh. Birds fly, cheetahs run dead fast, Stephen Fry is charming, engaging and witty. He doesn’t get points for that these days as far as I’m concerned-it’s a given. Now, if he learnt fire juggling, for example…
