I suppose corporations will be run by shadowy malevolent patriarchs next, rather than the far scarier 'no one at the wheel' approach we have today. I want to live in a Philip K Dick future, where technology sends everything sideways and aliens feed you drugs. I never signed up for this BS. I can't wait for such a device to come into existence, or even the process itself. If perfectly refined, could it probably pick out terrorists from a crowd because of their distinctive thought patterns? Progress indeed, although, to be perfectly honest the first thing I thought of when I read this was "and they haven't even refined speech recognition down to perfection." However, I suppose that must just be the rate of progress and innovation we have these days. It'll probably be easier to read thoughts as well, because there won't be any regional dialects!
