Right, so being broke or not having many qualifications means you're less likely to use the internet? I'm glad these experts are here to get paid to tell us these profound and illuminating things. I hear their next project is particularly exciting- identifying the key differences between the arse and the elbow...

Where do you get these stories from? People who 'work' gathering statistics either make them up or ask a few people from another office and a couple of family members, they didn't even advertise their online survey online! Oh yeah, did I mention, NOBODY CARES!

- The story comes from IT Pro mag (shown clearly in the link), the stats are from the National Office of Statistics and clearly you cared enough to comment. - Phillis

I must say whoever produced these figures were pretty much talking out of their bum cheeks. Seriously, it compares it to 62million people in Britain. That is the TOTAL number of people of which many are children under the age of 12. How many are at the age of infant I do not know, but this study is just more random numbers produced by people who like to take money from the government.

And really, people who have little income and poor education don't use the internet. What a surprise. They are probably too busy spending their money on necessities such as food, housing and staying alive.

I think I could make up statistics that could mirror any "study" with a wild guess, using a little bit of brain power and without bothering the public in surveys.

I have an elderly aunt who has discovered how fantastic the internet is.

Whenever she wants to know something, she phones my mum who is online and asks her to "look it up for me"

Is this what's meant by an Internet Proxy? !!
