He keeps pet birds so he probably knows how susceptible they can be to sudden changes in temperature of 10 degrees C or more. Our feathered friends are able to deal very well with gradual temperature changes, but when they encounter a big change very rapidly the poor things' defence mechanisms don't kick-start quite quick enough and they can soon become deceased. No more. Pushing up the daisies. Kicked the bucket. Ex-blackbirds. "No. No. They're just stunned blackbirds". (sorry) Ask Derren.
