As most of you SHOULD know – Pareidolia “is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant.” It commonly occurs as face-like patterns in inanimate objects, fifty instances of which can be seen after the break, so you can start developing empathy for cheese graters and alarm clocks and houses and things.
Here’s our favorite few we haven’t seen before:

cCan this be deliberately imposed upon someone to create paranoia or a spiritual/supernatural experience where they take ordinary experiences to have greater significance or meaning. Can it be used to manipulate someone.
Did anyone else read this as “50 Things That Look Like Faeces”?

I am with Ben Alborough on this one, I did indeed read it as “50 Things That Look Like Faeces”.
Great pictures, we come across Pareidolia all the time when looking at images of alledged “ghosts”.
People still argue that the images they have are paranormal, even when they have to point out the ghosts to the casual observer.
Have a look at this one, a friend of mine’s scary chair…

Oh, I really enjoyed that. Smiles the whole way through. And I enjoyed hovering over the pictures for their names like hungryhouse, pervycoatrack, and superangrypolething.
There is a cactus on the road between Phoenix and Yuma, Arizona, that is flicking people off. Is there a pareidolia for seeing hands or feet?
Well there WAS (I can’t find it now) a website completely dedicated to this sort of thing at the I Can Haz Cheeseburger network. Some of them were epic.
It was called “Happy Chair is Happy” and I think I aw some of those images on it. Good though.
These made me smile..
Especially the suspicious eyes on 33 ..
