Here’s the original video that’s been circulating with more here.
t’s pretty cool, but an obvious hoax. Imagine you’re standing late at night videotaping the scene with a friend because it’s so pretty. Out of nowhere a bright light comes down out of the sky, hovers over one of the most famous temples on the planet, then flashes brilliantly and shoots straight up at fantastic speed.
Would you just stand there like a lump without showing any reaction at all, like the guy in the video?
Also, it seems a little weird that such an incredibly bright object could hang over this heavily visited site, even in the middle of the night, and there were no reports of any eyewitnesses. Just one video that turns up, and a few days later a couple more. Seriously?
And now this video has been conclusively shown to be faked.

Well, if anyone knows people’s behaviour it’s you!!! Bit sad now though, the thought of UFOs visiting is quite exciting!!
There are three other recordings of it. Plus this video has been cut, the original was of them recording a dot in the sky for about 10 mins. I’m not saying it’s still not a hoax but I’d like to think they’re real.
well the first few were fairly well done.
Only real giveaway was the flash – looks like two still images layered over in after effects. The moment when it flies off is also slightly too high res compared to the background. nicely done though.
the worst one is one of the later ones which is obviously a lazy track and zoom over a still image. nothing is affected by the screen refresh and the awful ADR voices are very funny. Probably intentionally so.
“we used to get them over kansas!” – exclaims one onlooker. LMAO – as the kids apparently say these days.
all in all – hats off to whoever did the first lot. Good job!
If the original videos were real time recordings. Wouldn’t measuring the period in each during which the phenomenon remained motionless at the limit of its decent, return a series of identical values?
@alan: huh? its just a weird light!
Although I have no time for ‘UFOlogy’ I can’t help having a soft spot for good hoaxers. I love a good yarn and the excitement caused by UFO, yeti and aquatic monster sightings, but am saddened by people’s willingness to believe them.
- Yes it’s good fun. If there are aliens then WOOHOO, if there aren’t then well done for your creative talents – Phillis
There is a 5th video out now the source is a weather cam. No evidence of Hoax in this website either. Another site that claims they are debunked but have no proof of it. All this one has it “cmon guys it’s obviously a fake because everyone knows that we are the only lifeforms in our whole universe”. pathetic. get over the hoax thing and ready yourself for the possibility of our new reality. What are you afraid of? The next person who claims this event was a hoax with no proof to back it up seriously I will punch them in the face.
- oh the joys of having a free opinion! – Phillis
Karl, that’s a strawman and a false dichotomy. I don’t find it very likely that extraterrestrial lifeforms would visit earth (it’s too far away to be a good source for materials, as you’d have to spend more to get here than you could ever mine, and if they wanted to contact us they could find less direct or dangerous ways). I don’t even know if there are any extraterrestrial lifeforms that are capable of visiting other star systems several lightyears from their homes.
But that does not mean that I find it in any way likely that we are the only lifeforms in the universe. I think extraterrestrial life is likely, but extraterrestrial visitors aren’t. And if by any chance they do manage to get here, I’d be scared as hell, because nobody travels that far for a friendly chat.
WOW!!! THIS IS AMAZING!!!
What do you think Derren, Phillis and Abio?
I’m not to sure if im honest because you know how desparate people can get to believe these things.
@Berber. Why do we visit the moon? Why do we want to visit other planets? Why do we take an interest on our solar system? Im sure if we were able to visit Mars etc, we would. How many billions of dollars do NASA waste investigating anything to do with “outer space”? My point? If we do it, why not other life forms? Extraterrestrials could easilly be more advanced technology wise than us. Not that Im saying they exist. My point is purely for arguement purposes.
Karl – You would punch someone in the face for that? Blimey. Bit harsh isnt it. Personally I think its a hoax. And I have nothing to back that statement up but I’m just testing to see if you burst in my front door and punch me in the…….OW…BLOODY HELL KARL!
Judas: Because, as a species, we have developed curiosity as a trait that has helped us spread far and wide, and it makes us want to know what’s elsewhere. That’s true.
But the moon race was a part of the cold war, to show the Soviets America’s military power (if they could develop moon rockets, they certainly could develop powerful missiles). NASA is funded, in part, because the American government needs new resources and military technologies, and people prefer to find and develop those in the name of scientific curiosity. China wants to mine the moon. Curiosity plays a big part, definitely for the scientists involved, but it is not the only motivation.
Also, any extraterrestrials’ curiosity could be sated much more safely with interstellar probes.
Suggestion to Derren: in one of your next shows, bring a UFO and an alien on stage. You may as well board that UFO at the end of the show and disappear in a flash of light
re:, “it seems a little weird that such an incredibly bright object could hang over this heavily visited site, even in the middle of the night, and there were no reports of any eyewitnesses.”
This IS bollocks. January 28 was Friday night. The Sabbath night. Can use your brain a little and consider just what that means in the Holy City? Whether any given person is religious or not? On Friday at sundown the whole city STOPS. Every Friday night. Always. For millenia. No cars on the road except for the occasional Arab cab, and cops. Many go to shul. Everything SHUTS DOWN!
This was a REAL sighting….vast majoirty of the ‘debunking’ – comes from extreme bullshit disinfo site ‘abovetopssecret’ -0 where young adults are posting very much unsubstantiatied/unadulterated rubbish indeed.
It’s hard this day and age to determine whats real or not, with the advent of cameras in just about every device known to man and manipulation software that is easy to use, more and more of these hoax videos turn up, which in turn can kill creditability to those that have the real thing either photographed or videoed, I know for a fact that these flying devices are a real phenomenon due to my actual witnessing of two over a number of years and testimony from family members that have seen daylight sightings of disc’s at varying distances, the closest being 200feet hovering above them on a airport flight path, which shot straight up out of sight when a passenger jet approached, so I’m a firm believer in the existance of these devices or enities.
