Meh. The top-rating journals reject studies who manipulate power size by sticking to smaller sample sizes, this shows up in the effect size. If anyone does try this, expect to have it rejected before it reaches peer-review with a request to amend your sample size in light of this. Inferential statistics take account of this kind of thing! I comparing each kind of charm for efficacy, you'd also need to complete post-hoc test to negate family-wise error.

I'm just finishing my dissertation in cognitive psychology and I aim to get published this year - it's really not as easy as it looks! : )

It;s a scientific fact that 88.2% of all statistics are made up on the spot. (thanks Jim)

And when you even don't want to make that effort, you can use SciGen for an instant "scientific" paper:

http://pdos.csail.mit.edu/scigen/

Unfortunately, for computer science only. Background: Some computer science students wrote this as an exercise in so-called "context-free grammars". On a glimpse, it looks like science, but it is nothing but random nonsense. They once submitted such a "paper" for a conference, and now the frightening part starts: The paper was accepted.

This was no singular event, but was repeated several times. It just has to look like science, and it might get accepted. Even if it is sheer randomly generated nonsense.

Damn it! Gerald has just eaten the four leaf clover and is now humping the rabbit's foot. Is that good or bad luck? My graph doesn't show that.
