“the way we see everything in the world today is through the eyes of the computers”.
Except that there are no “I”s in “computers”. He’s obviously confusing them with’phones.

I found the first episode to be seriously flawed. Alan Greenspan did not act in accordance with Ayn Rand's idea's. Nor do crooked bankers and speculators fit well in her utopian world, where a human does not consume more than he produces. Rand's non-conformist heroes are producers of goods, independent artists and inventors who will not yield to the pressures of parasites, society and politics. It's too easy to declare a long dead novelist the bad girl behind what is in fact only one of many economic crises in our recent history. A sloppy job.

I am less convinced than the previous commenters. While I liked the style of the film, I have serious issues with the underlying research. There are too many holes left in the story and too many points glossed over.

Some ideas on Ayn Rand and Greenspan are concentrated in this blogpost:

OK, I watched his "It Felt Like a Kiss" at Archive.org and I'm sold. I've got to see everything in his filmography. Anyone have tips on where I can find his two episodes of Forty Minutes, "Kingdom of Fun" and "Bombay Hotel"?

I watched this on I-player yesterday. I'm in two minds about whether it's accurate or merely selectively edited to tell a small fraction of a much more elaborate story, but there were some interesting theories nonetheless.
Ayn Rand did come across as a bit of a charismatic sociopath, but how much her theories were the sole guiding force behind Alan Greenspan and by extension the silicon revolution of the 90's and the economic collapse which followed is a bit contentious.
That said I look forward to the rest of the series.
