I see your point Berber Anna.I don’t see it as an accident though. I think he would know if he did that to her that it would hurt her and possibly kill her. At the same time though I can see the blinded with rage argument as I know the feeling but haven’t killed or seriously hurt someone obviously. I guess we can only know if we saw the whole situation obviously with him not knowing we’re there. I do see and understand your point though.

lorna: I don’t see someone who doesn’t feel guilty or bad when I read that. I see someone who accidentally kills his girlfriend, panics and sees no way out, so he basically closes his eyes and hopes the monster will go away. That’s a very human response to an overwhelming situation. He knows what he’s done, he likely feels bad about it, but as long as he dissociates from it and ignores it, he can pretend it never happened. The air fresheners are part of that dissociation, a desperate attempt not to be confronted by the smell of decomposition and the fact that there’s a dead body there.
Yes, he was at fault for beating her at all, but I don’t think he’s a cold-blooded murderer. I actually feel sorry for the guy, Those months must have been horrible.

It seems this guy has a few issues. If he is using air fresheners he knows what he’s done and to be able to do that and sleep at night and not feel guilty or bad. That’s unbelievable. :S
